Come Here |

The second
songbook song attempted is from Meiling Li. A little bit
of Chinese influence is seen in this song, and the lyrics
seemed to suggest a very simple, repetitive verse, and
heavy metaphor used during the chorus. I'm usually not
one for putting in too much metaphor, but the lines
really worked well, especially when imagining
Meiling-chan singing it. Incidentally, that's probably
the only justification for leaving "darling" in
the song. The ultimate irony of this of course is that this song is directed towards a little pansy like Li. |
Come Here
Come here and look at me, say that you are here for me darling.
Come here and say you'll be, say that you will always be right at my side.
You have everything I want, and my heart's racing.
Come show me everything that you may try to hide.
I will follow my true love no matter where you go.
I am coming after you!
Just like a flower. Just like a strong perfume.
Just like some lemonade, on a sunny day in June.
Just like I love you, the only one I see.
My one and only: you're drawn to no one but me.
Come here and say it's me, say that you're in love with me darling.
Come here and say we'll be, always be just you and me forever more.
I am everything you need, more than a good friend.
Come tell me I am more, that I'm the one that you adore.
I will help you through your problems, through the thick and thin.
I will never let you lose!
Like leaves in autumn. Like strands of untamed hair.
Or like a secret love, prying ears placed everywhere.
Like my behavior when you are being true.
Our love is magical: I'm always falling for you.
Just like a flower. Just like a strong perfume.
Just like some lemonade, on a sunny day in June.
Just like I love you, the only one I see.
My one and only: you're drawn to no one but me.
La la la la la...
