The Real Folk Blues

About This Song:

Japanese Title: The Real Folk Blues

Style: Jazzy Blues
English Lyrics: Chris Homer
Hopefully everyone knows this classy ending from Cowboy Bebop. I’ve always had a soft spot for jazz and the blues so needless to say the Cowboy Bebop Soundtracks are among my favourites in my collection. With Cowboy Bebop being a mainstay in my top 20 now for several years, it was time to try out something slower in my lyrics after all the fast paced stuff I’ve done mostly so far. Enjoy those real folk blues.

The Real Folk Blues

Walking as I wonder, if it’s now too late
Is there really no hope to say those words, that I love you?
Leaving behind my tears, and the endless wait
Yet my heart just now continues to ache, as the wind blew…

Let one side of my eyes just see tomorrow
And the other one that’s closing in thought, just see yesterday
I wish that once again remove my sorrow
As cradling arms wrap around me now, a love I can’t say.

Oh cry for me, oh can’t you see
Please someone out there with dry eyes…

THE REAL FOLK BLUES… I want to taste
Pain of feelings being carved up with a knife
Because it’s not so bad, my soul gone to waste
Struggling down this road I’ll pass through all the mud,
I’ll make the most I have of my one life…

Waiting hope against hope, as the trap is set
And so why don’t you just take a chance, take the moment
Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s the risk I’ll bet
Like the fifty-fifty chance of a coin, is my luck spent?

How long until, my body’s will, gives up as it slowly dies…

THE REAL FOLK BLUES…I want to hold…
Pains of pleasure rippling down within my chest
However all that glows, is not always gold
All I want is to just feel the best…

THE REAL FOLK BLUES…I want to taste
Pain of feelings being carved up with a knife
Because it’s not so bad, my soul gone to waste
Struggling down this road I’ll pass through all the mud,
I’ll make the most I have of my one life…
