When posted in 2003, a contest was held where readers could score points by predicting where teams would finish on each leg, and which tasks they would complete. The winner received a DVD of any of the fifteen series featured as "locations" in the race. In an amazing coincidence, the top three finishers were the same as in the "Mole 2: Anime Edition" contest- Chromus won with 363 points, Javeman finished second with 359 and D Marco third with 357. Chromus and Javeman turned down the prize for personal reasons; D Marco chose to receive an Excel Saga DVD.
