Premiere Weekend Part One: Grandline Ep. 1

Posted on February 23, 2007

It’s going to be a busy weekend at Anime Reality as we post three series premieres in five days! Today we kick things off with Amor’s Manga Survivor: Grandline. Champion’s Cup hits on Sunday, and Tuesday brings us Gomamon’s Survivor: Konoha. The page for the latter is now up, and it promises to be as fun as his first Survivor story last year. Please use the comment section at the bottom of each post to leave your thoughts on each episode!

The fact that I’m a HUGE Nodoka Miyazaki (the library girl from Negima) fan originally caused me to confuse the “Ranma” Nodoka with the “Negima” (with me going, “wait, I thought Konoka was the Negima rep in Manga Survivor: Grandline).

Very nicely done - been a while reading a Survivor and with such a varied amount of cast.

I was actually surprised Nodoka went as I thought Mitsuki would actually go - don’t get me wrong, I love Mitchi, but aside from a morale boost, she’s not going to be much use on the team. I have faith Ed will turn this around, plus I think Sannosuke’s tribe (forgive me, forgot the name) is severly underestimating Skypedia. Yep, most weak…but Ippo can be surprising, and with Sena’s speed and Ed’s strength when needed, there could be trouble…

And yes, took all of 5 minutes for Mitsuko to not have someone round their little finger.

I can’t say who I feel will go next from either tribe, but as to win, a toss up between Maya (not a huge TT fan but she’s a good enough character in both strength and personality to win) or Kono-chan. (Sure, she’s useless in strength, but she’s the cook, cute, fun, impossible to hate and can perk anyone right up). On the male side, Lee and Sena easily…

    WE’RE GONNA KILL THEM! :) YA-HA!
