Day Eighteen
(Manny appears on a beach.)
Manny: After 20 days, the group has gone through a lot. Although they were reunited with friends, one of them turned out to be leaving with them. That person, was…

(Manny opens his mouth, but says nothing. A deep computerized voice dubs it.)
Voice: (VO) Satoshi.

Manny: …who was unable to determine the Mole’s identity. The last victim, leaving with acquaintance…
Voice: (VO) Kasumi.

Manny: Left five people, who, as the game draws closer to a conclusion, can trust each other even…
Voice: (VO) Less.

Manny: …then before.

(Manny is nailed in the head with a beach ball. Sana chases after it.)

Sana: Don’t mind me!!

(Tenchi appears in front of a black screen.)
Tenchi: For you to win this game, you have to sink low. Just to get that edge over people, to determine who the Mole is, you have to outsmart everybody, look at every clue, and analyze everyone else more than you’ve ever looked at anybody before.

(Taichi appears in front of the screen.)
Taichi: It’s tough. No matter what friends you make here, they’ll have to leave eventually. And even worse, those friends could be the ones trying to play you for a fool. There is no team play involved with this game.

(Hayama appears in front of the screen. No… he’s still not smiling.)
Hayama: It’s fun. It’s a lot of fun. Trying to outsmart everybody, trying to figure everyone out… I’m having a blast.

Day Twenty
(Everybody is around the dinner table, eating. Taichi and Tomoyo are talking quietly.)

Taichi: I mean, if you heard what I said to him, you’d probably understand what I’m feeling.

Tomoyo: Oh, yeah.

Manny: Excuse me? Can this conversation wait for a more appropriate scenario than the dinner table?

Taichi/Tomoyo: (apologetic) Sorry Mr. Edwards.

Manny: Thank you. We’re going to ask that you stay in your rooms tonight. A challenge tomorrow is going to impede on your sleeping habits a bit, so you’d best spend a quiet night to make sure you all get rested.

(Camera shot down the hallways, and shut doors.)

Barb: (VO) But since when have kids listened to their elders? Using our hidden cameras, we caught Taichi and Tomoyo engaged in some nasty, raw, late night action. The following scene contains material not suitable for children.

(Taichi and Tomoyo are sitting quietly in Taichi’s room.)

Tomoyo: Where is he?

(Tenchi enters, with a box of pizza and some sodas.)

Tenchi: Sorry guys, I had to sneak by Manny.

(Tomoyo and Taichi grab a slice of pizza.)

Taichi: Hey, thanks man.

Tenchi: No problem. Hey, it’s a tradition- you and Satoshi did the same thing when Akito got executed.

Tomoyo: Yeah, and you were right there for me when Sakura left.

(Taichi smiles a bit.)

Taichi: Yeah… but this is a little different. I mean, I pretty much told him off. I may never see him again, and the last thing I said to him was that he was taking me for a sucker and pretty much accused him directly of being the Mole.

(Tenchi and Tomoyo, mid-pizza, stare at each other blankly.)

Tenchi/Tomoyo: What’s wrong with that?

Taichi: What do you mean?

Tomoyo: Well, if you don’t at least consider him as the Mole, you’re missing out on a possible suspect.

Tenchi: You have to consider everybody. I suspected Akito. And I’m sure Tomoyo suspected Sakura, right?

Tomoyo: (hesitant) Um… yeah. Sure.

Taichi: Sure, but the way I said it to him.

Tenchi: Don’t worry about it. This game’s all about blind accusations, it’s part of the fun.

Tomoyo: Sure! I think Tenchi’s the Mole, Tenchi thinks I’m the Mole- we’re great friends!

Tenchi: Yep!

(Taichi laughs a bit.)

Tenchi: Besides, you gotta keep on your toes now. Worry about Satoshi later, we’ve got a game to play. I don’t want your moping to cost me any money.

Tomoyo: Me neither. (sarcastic) If Tenchi was to think anyone else was the Mole, I would be totally devastated!

(Taichi snaps out of it and joins them in laughter)

Taichi: You two just crack me up sometimes. You know, considering how you suspect each other like this, you should team up or something.

Tenchi: (joking around) Yeah! Between us two, we’ve got a 40% chance of being right.

(The three laugh for awhile longer. Suddenly the door opens, and Meilin Li from Cardcaptor Sakura bursts in.)

Meiling: This is a surprise bedroom inspection, why are you two in Taichi’s room?

Taichi: Why’d they choose you to inspect my bedroom?

Meiling: Because… they still desperate for Cardcaptor Sakura cameos.

Day Twenty-One
(Outside on the patio, the five are with Barb and Manny.)

Manny: Okay, before we head off to your next assignment, there’s something we need to get done with first.

Barb: Manny gave you all explicit instructions not to leave your rooms last night. Despite this, Tenchi and Tomoyo went to Taichi’s room and had a little party… they even ordered a pizza and sodas. Needless to say, we’ll be subtracting $20,000 from the pot for this infraction.

Ruri: You people are certainly trying my patience.

Hayama: Did you save me any?

Ruri: (VO) It seems that with recent assignments, Tenchi and Tomoyo have been teaming up together lately. Maybe them and Taichi were planning something together.

Taichi: (VO) Me and Satoshi did try to work together a lot. I don’t know if you could go so far as to say we were trying to draw people away from who the Mole really was… but maybe we confused them a little bit.

(Barb is leading the team to a fortress near the coast.)
Barb: This is the site of your next assignment. It’s a variation of the game "capture the flag," except that all you five have to worry about is the defensive aspect. You will be in charge of guarding this fortress from four invaders that will attack sometime during the night.

(She leads them into the courtyard, where a green bowl is on a pedestal.)

Barb: This bowl is what you are trying to protect. It will be lit by two spotlights on the roof, and must remain lit through the night. You lose if both spotlights stop shining on it, or if the bowl gets pushed away. You will be in charge of guarding the spotlights, the bowl, and the power supply connecting the spotlights. If you can keep the bowl in the light until sun-up, the group wins $60,000.

Hayama: Hey, do we get weapons this time?

Barb: I was going to say yes… but I don’t know if I trust you with a paint gun. Aw, the hell with it, sure. You all get paint guns among other supplies, including radios, another spotlight, and fire-starting equipment. C’mon and I’ll show you how to use everything.

(Montage of scenes where Barb shows the five how to use the guns. Everybody gets some practice. Tomoyo in particular looks a bit unsure about using the gun.)

(After everybody gets some practice with it, they are shown near the fortress.)

Barb: Okay, you have about one hour until sunset, so you should develop a strategy and set up.

Ruri: (slight concern) Strategy? With these people?

(Shot of them planning out a strategy inside.)

Taichi: Hmm… it looks like we’re spread a bit thin.

Tenchi: Maybe we should abandon a target. Like one of the spotlights.

Tomoyo: Why would we do that, we’re fine like this. If we can prevent them from getting in, we won’t have a problem.

Hayama: Yeah.

Taichi: Everybody stay on their toes and we’ll be fine.

Ruri: Another important thing to do is not chase the intruders if they retreat. Just stay at your posts.

(Shot of everybody helping to build a barricade against an entrance. Shot of Ruri and Taichi in the courtyard, building a fire.)

Ruri: Taichi, I was wondering…

Taichi: Yeah?

Ruri: I think we should think more about our pairings.

Taichi: Why?

Ruri: I want to be able to observe Tenchi and Tomoyo together. I’m suspicious of them. Knowing one of those two isn’t the Mole, I want to see if I can’t figure out who is.

Taichi: Yeah, but I don’t want Tomoyo outside guarding the power boxes, I don’t trust her with that gun. She’d be better off as a last resort in the courtyard.

Ruri: That makes about as much sense as putting the skinny slow guy in as a team’s goalie.

Taichi: Look, Ruri, I have faith that if we need Tomoyo, she’ll come through for us.

Ruri: And if she doesn’t?

Taichi: Then we’ll have discovered who the Mole is!!

(Hayama enters)

Hayama: It’s not that simple. We’ve all done something suspicious. We’ve all had our boner mistakes. You have, Ruri has. I have too. But only one of us is actually doing this on purpose, and if one of us screws up, the question keeps coming up, and we’re no closer to finding a Mole. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to figure it out sometime soon.

Assignment Thirteen
(Shot of the scenario, as dark approaches. Shot of Taichi and Tenchi, outside, armed with paint guns, helmets, and radio.)
Barb: (VO) After barricading the area, the group has their set positions. Taichi and Tenchi will be positioned outside, guarding the two power boxes, and from the outside, will get first crack at the invaders.

(Shot of Ruri, up on the terrace, with a spotlight.)
Manny: (VO) Ruri will be manning the spotlight.

(Shot of Hayama, standing near the door, and Tomoyo in the courtyard.)
Barb: (VO) Hayama will be guarding the only non-barricaded door, while Tomoyo is the last line, guarding the actual bowl. Naturally, however, there is a problem.

(Shot of three of masked intruders, with a jeep. Pan around, where one has his mask off, revealing himself to be Takeru Takaishi, a fellow "chosen" from Digimon. He’s talking into a radio from the jeep.)

Takeru: Okay, so where are you going to be? Great, I’ll pass it on.

(Takeru hangs up the mike and walks over to the others. Another chosen- Daisuke Motomiya, young descendent of Clow- Syaoran Li from Cardcaptor Sakura, and the tall, dark, and handsome pilot- Nagare Akatsuki, from Nadesico.)

Takeru: Guys, the Mole sent us their plans.

Daisuke: Go Mole!!

Nagare: We must formulate a counter-strategy and defeat the contestants as four noble, proud, and fearless masked intruders.

Daisuke: That’s right! Let’s give these guys a bowl-smashin’ they’ll never forget!

(Takeru and Syaoran develop sweatdrops.)

(Shot from the perimeter. Taichi is quietly patrolling his area.)

Taichi: No action yet over here.

(A large flare emerges nearby.)

Taichi: Never mind! Looks like we’re in business.

(Shot of Ruri patrolling with the spotlight.)

Ruri: I still don’t see anything.

Tenchi: (OS) What about the jeep?!

(Ruri quickly flashes over to Tenchi’s sector, where the jeep is approaching, being driven by Nagare. Takeri is in the backseat. It’s heading near Tenchi. He quickly moves to intercept it, and tries to get a shot in through the window, but is unsuccessful. It continues driving, unfazed, past one power supply. Tenchi’s close watch prevents anyone from leaving, as it drives out of the perimeter.)

Ruri: (OS) Just stay there, don’t go after it.

Tenchi: (OS) Roger, Ruri.

Ruri: (OS) Taichi??

(Shot of Taichi, patrolling the other box. Nearby, Syaoran is sneaking by silently.)

Taichi: Yes?

Ruri: (OS) Do you see the intruder?

Taichi: Where?

(The spotlight suddenly shines on Syaoran. Both him and Taichi look shocked for an instant, before Taichi aims his gun. Syaoran makes a speedy retreat.)

Taichi: Should I go after him?

Tenchi: (OS) No, just keep an eye open. And watch that power box.

(Shot of Hayama.)

Ruri: (OS) Any activity Hayama?

Hayama: Nothing so far. I think that might have been a first wave. The eventual losers always win the first wave.

Tomoyo: (OS) I love your confidence Hayama.

Ruri: (OS) Tomoyo? Are you good? Anything to report?

(Shot of Tomoyo, standing in the courtyard. The lights are shining on the bowl, and all is well.)

Tomoyo: Uh… nope.

Tenchi: (OS) Just don’t knock that thing over!

Tomoyo: Please Tenchi, I’m not that obvious.

(Shot of Tenchi, who laughs a bit.)

Tenchi: Still…

(he hears the jeep approaching again)

Tenchi: Here we go again!

(the jeep flies by Tenchi again. Tenchi speeds after it, and it unloads one member, who quickly dives into the bushes as the jeep drives off again. Tenchi searches through the bushes, unable to find the person.

Ruri: (OS) Tenchi, get back to your position. I thought I saw somebody.

Tenchi: But what about?

Ruri: (OS) Don’t worry about it.

(Tenchi hustles back. Takeru pops up out of the bushes and is hit with a spotlight. He looks up at Ruri.)

Ruri: Could somebody please kill him? Hello? Taichi? Hayama?

(Takeru is looking around, for a place to hide.)

Ruri: Oh, whatever.

(Ruri pulls out her gun and fires a few rounds at Takeru. Unfortunately, they all miss and Takeru speeds off in another direction past Hayama. Hayama sees him. Takeru turns around and runs, as Hayama gives chase.)

(Over at another part of the fortress, Tenchi is looking for the fourth invader. He stays close to the power box, but can’t see Daisuke lined up against the wall. Daisuke silently continues along the wall. Takeru goes running in between both of them, followed by Hayama. Tenchi manages to cut Takeru off, and he and Hayama have no trouble "killing" Takeru.)

(Shot from Ruri’s outlook post, as the light shines on Daisuke, lining against the wall.)

Ruri: Hayama? Daisuke’s near the door, that’s your responsibility. Hayama?

Hayama: (OS) I’m going, I’m going.

(Shot of Daisuke, at the doorway. He looks over at Taichi, still occupied with watching for Syaoran. Daisuke sneaks in the doorway.)

Ruri: And he’s in. Tenchi, find a way through the window. Tomoyo, be on look out.

Tomoyo: Right.

(Shot of Tomoyo, as nervous as ever, watching the bowl. Another flare strikes, startling her.)

Ruri: (OS) Forget the flares, look out for the intruder.

Tomoyo: Okay…

(Daisuke cautiously enters, looks at Tomoyo quickly, then bullets for the bowl.)

Tomoyo: Stop!

(Daisuke actually does stop and looks at Tomoyo, before realizing the idiocy of the action. Tomoyo tries firing a few unwieldy shots, but none hit home. Daisuke successfully knocks over the bowl. Caption: "MISSION FAILED." )

Tomoyo: Oh no…

(Daisuke starts celebrating like crazy.)

Daisuke: Whoo! I did it! I’m king of the world!

(Daisuke gets pelted with paint. He shuts up and looks at the source. Pan up to Ruri, standing with paintgun.)

Ruri: Baka.

(Downstairs, Hayama and Tenchi walk up to Taichi.)

Taichi: Hey man, why’d you leave the door?

Hayama: I was going after somebody. I told you to cover for me.

Taichi: Well, I couldn’t cover for you, I was busy watching the guy in my area.

Tenchi: Guys, I’m tired of all this finger-pointing. We blew it. That’s all that matters.

(Ruri meets them.)

Taichi: Jeez Ruri, I don’t have eyes on the back of my head, if I would have known someone was trying to get in I would’ve stopped them.

Hayama: Where were you?

Taichi: I was looking for somebody else in my sector!

Ruri: Taichi can’t guard two sectors. Why couldn’t you let Tenchi deal with him, Hayama?

Tenchi: Yeah, why’d you leave your post?

Hayama: (accusingly to Taichi) Well, don’t we have a last line of defense?

(Tomoyo enters, a bit guiltily)

Tomoyo: I'm sorry..

(Ruri glances at Tomoyo, then glances away.)

Ruri: Nope, we had an empty net.

Tomoyo: I said I was sorry.

Ruri: Tomoyo, I’m not going to make blind accusations, but he was right in front of you, and you had plenty of time to shoot him. You didn’t, and we lost. That’s all I’m saying.

Tenchi: You did?

Tomoyo: Guys...

Taichi: Tomoyo… we trusted you. We had faith in you, and I thought that if we needed you to step up, you were going to.

Tomoyo: But?

Taichi: But what? You let us down. It was right there in front of you and you couldn’t do it. I don’t know if it was an accident, I don’t know if it was on purpose, but you let us down. Is this what’s going to happen every time we decide to put some faith in you? Right now I’m starting to hope you are the Mole, because that would be a lot more forgivable than this being an accident.

(Tomoyo is starting to tear up, shocked at Taichi’s words.)

Tomoyo: Taichi.

(Taichi turns, a bit sad himself, and sits down on the ground. Tomoyo starts to cry, and runs off, bumping into Syaoran, who had been hiding in the bushes the last half-hour. Tomoyo continues past him. Syaoran looks at her, then at the others, confused.)

Syaoran: I’m not going to ask.

Tenchi: Tomoyo, wait!

(Tenchi runs after her. Shot of Taichi, still in that state of sad anger.)
Taichi: (VO) Every time something like this happens to the team, I just get that feeling. If Tomoyo is the Mole, then I would understand that it was just playing the game. But if she isn’t the Mole, was happened was a bonehead mistake. And we’ve had far too many of those in this game for one man to take. When I was stuck in that mask, I could hear Sana and Satoshi’s arguments. Them going back and forth about how the other person blew it, and accusing each other of being the Mole. And in the end- neither of them were. They were both doing these bonehead mistakes, and that extra time I had to spend in the mask was their fault. I guess I can’t take them anymore. I am a Chosen, and we were a very strong team. But if you were to consider the possibility of one of my teammates committing a bonehead mistake while fighting to save the world… you can see why I have little tolerance for them.

(Shot of the five in the van, driven by Barb. Taichi is still looking at Tomoyo, a bit sternly.)
Tenchi: (VO) I think he was hard on Tomoyo. I mean, sure I’m a little upset that we lost the challenge, but this is supposed to be all in good fun isn’t it? I don’t see why Taichi got on Tomoyo’s case for what she did, especially when you look at the fact that he wasn’t even accusing her of being the Mole. I think Taichi was accusing her of much worse.

Ruri: (VO) I can’t say I disagree with what Taichi said. Right now the team consists of three idiots, a Mole, and myself. It’s about time somebody straightened everything out; we have been having too many bonehead mistakes.

Day Twenty-Two
(San Lucar, Spain. Manny is leading the group into a public library.)

Manny: Well, after a disappointing night, I hope we can do a little better today. The next assignment takes place here, in the public library. There will be a carriage entering town pretty soon, and will go around town, stopping at eight different places. Hidden inside this library are eight tickets to those places. Your job is to find five of those tickets, and haul ass to the appropriate carriage stop and board. If all five of you can board, you win $60,000. Now we’ll be supplying you with a map of the city, with the labeled spots, and some Spanish-Japanese dictionaries if you need them. If you are ready, we’ll begin.

(Manny pulls out a walkie-talkie.)

Manny: Takeshi? Shinobu? Clear for takeoff.

(Over in another part of town, an elaborate carriage, pulled by several horses is being driven by Takeshi, the love-starved trainer from Pokémon, and co-piloted by Shinobu, the quiet blue-haired girl from Love Hina. Takeshi turns to the camera as the carriage starts moving.)

Takeshi: Just because our show representatives are losers doesn’t mean our shows have to be! Right Shinobu?

Shinobu: (very meak) Um, yes?

Takeshi: (a tad annoyed, sotto) Of all the beautiful women on Love Hina… why did they have to pick her?

Shinobu: (overhearing) Um, I was the only one they’d let you near. In fact, just be safe, Kitsune gave me some pepper spray.

Assignment Fourteen
(Back at the library)

Manny: Clue one- Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins starred in the movie adaptation to this book.

Tenchi: What, you aren’t making these anime versions of the questions?

Manny: At the Animation Alliance, we aren’t just cheap- we’re also lazy!

Hayama: Silence of the Lambs. That one’s pretty easy.

(Hayama looks at Taichi, staring into Taichi, and looking a tad psychotic. Taichi looks back, very nervous.)

Taichi: (nervous) I’ll… go find the book.

(Taichi runs off quickly. Hayama continues to stare at him as he recedes, then faces forward, cracking a half-smile.)

Manny: Hey! Hayama just smiled!!

Tomoyo: (surprised) You’re kidding me!

Manny: No, seriously… he smiled!

Hayama: I didn’t smile.

Manny: Yes you did!

Ruri: Can we get back to work?

Manny: There’s more important things now! Did we get that on camera?

(Taichi finds the first book, with ticket, and heads out the door. Back to the others.)

Manny: Anyway- the next clue- This title is out of order, it’s the 666th book in the novel section.

Tenchi: 666? Who feels like counting?

Hayama: Sounds like you just volunteered.

Tenchi: Oh goody.

Manny: Clue 3- Find the book based on the scientist and his violent alter-ego.

(Shot of Taichi running through the streets, as the carriage draws near spot 1.)

(Shot of Tenchi rifling through the novel section, counting books.)

Manny: (VO) While Tenchi tries counting books for number 2, Ruri and Hayama find ticket 3.

(Hayama approaches)

Hayama: Why don’t you take this one? We’ll go back to this if we need it.

(Shot of Tenchi running out.)

Manny: (VO) Tenchi hurries to spot number three as the group continues inside.

(Shot of Taichi, who manages to get to the carriage at spot 1. He’s tired.)

Taichi: Hey, wait up! Can I get on?

(Shot of Shinobu, marking that they have arrived at spot 1 with an "X" on the sidewalk.)

Shinobu: Um, yes. I think so. Takeshi?

Takeshi: Sure can! Hop on!

(Taichi and Shinobu board the carriage.)

Taichi: (relieved) Ooh, made it.

(Taichi looks at Shinobu.)

Taichi: Who are you?

Shinobu: Um, I’m a pointless Love Hina cameo.

Taichi: What’s Love Hina got to do with this series?

(Back in the library)

Manny: This murder mystery queen wrote "Un cadaver en la biblioteca."

Tomoyo: Murder mystery queen? Agatha Christie?

Ruri: Sounds good. Tomoyo, go find it.

(Tomoyo runs off and with after rifling through books with Hayama, finds ticket 4.)

(Shot of Tenchi, running through the streets of the city. He stops and asks for directions.)

(In the library, Manny hands Ruri a photograph.)

Manny: The next one is simple. Find this book.

(Ruri looks at the specifics, like the call number on the book. Hayama approaches and leans on her shoulder to get a look at the picture. Ruri is a bit annoyed.)

Ruri: What do you think?

Hayama: G-H section.

(Over on the streets, Tenchi waits for the carriage. It arrives.)

Taichi: Hi Tenchi!

Tenchi: Hey! Can I get on?

Shinobu: (flustered) Yes!

Takeshi: Hold on, let me see the ticket.

(Takeshi looks at the ticket.)

Takeshi: Sorry. This is stop 2, this ticket is for stop 3.

Tenchi: Oh. Please?

Shinobu: It’s all right Takeshi, let him on.

Takeshi: Sorry. (proud) As a carriage driver, I am bound by the rules of this game, and if I let somebody on without the proper ticket, I will be shaming the carriage drivers before me! (normal) Go back to the library and get another ticket.

(Takeshi quickly gets on the carriage and speeds off.)

Taichi: Bye Tenchi!

(In the library, Hayama and Ruri are looking for the pictured book.)

Hayama: No. No. No. No. Not here.

(Hayama walks away.)

Ruri: Wait a second.

(Ruri reaches one book Hayama had his finger on, opens it, and finds the ticket.)

Ruri: It’s right here.

Hayama: Oh.

Ruri: Baka.

Hayama: I guess so.

(As Manny reads question six to Tomoyo, Ruri VO’s)
Ruri: (VO) Sure with all the talk of bonehead mistakes, is Hayama that much of a bonehead to pass right over the book we’re supposed to be looking for? He didn’t even check it. It makes me wonder about him.

(Tomoyo head off to find ticket 6, and Ruri helps her find it.)

(Shot of all three remaining contestants walking out.)

Manny: (VO) With tickets in hand, Tomoyo is to find stop 4, Hayama is to go to stop 5, while Ruri has stop 6.

(Shot of Tenchi, who runs back to the library.)

Tenchi: Hey. Are there any questions left?

(Manny hands him a sheet of paper.)

Manny: Sure. Question 7: The except here is taken from a book that became a hit Broadway musical.

(Shot of this sheet, obviously an excerpt from "Les Misérables.")

(Shot of Hayama and Tomoyo, walking to their spots together.)

Hayama: So it looks like right here is stop 4, and 5 is two blocks down.

Tomoyo: Here comes the carriage. See you in a few minutes!

(Hayama runs off, as the carriage picks up Tomoyo.)

Tomoyo: Where’s Tenchi?

Taichi: (slightly bitter) Another bonehead mistake.

Tomoyo: Right… a mistake.

(Tenchi gives up on the piece and turns to Manny for question 8.)

Manny: Find the children’s version of the book about a giant monster assembled by a mad doctor.

Tenchi: Right. I know that one.

(Tenchi runs to the card catalog.)

(Over in stop 5, the carriage is there to pick up Hayama.)

Hayama: Where’s Tenchi?

Taichi: Tenchi’s an idiot.

Takeshi: Hey, don’t be trash-talking Tenchi! He is livin’ la vida bueno!

(Tenchi is looking through the children’s section for the book, appearing to have some trouble. Meanwhile, the carriage picks up Ruri.)

Ruri: Where’s Tenchi?

Hayama: What do you want first, the good news or the bad news?

Ruri: Um… the good news.

Taichi: The good news is that you don’t have to say "baka." We already got it covered.

(Shot of Tenchi, who stops, apparently lost. He looks down and sees the book, pulls it out, and walks over to Manny.)

Tenchi: Jeez, I missed this one twice.

Manny: Yeah, yeah. Doesn’t matter, you found it. Now less talking and more walking.

Tenchi: Right!

(Tenchi runs out the door. Shot of the carriage, as Shinobu X’s the pavement at stop 7.)
Manny: (VO) It’ll be a race against time, as Tenchi has to find stop eight before the carriage arrives.

Hayama: So the question is whether it’s enough of a bonehead mistake to go to the wrong spot.

Taichi: Could he have gotten the instructions confused?

Tomoyo: I don’t know. Ruri circled the spot on the map.

Ruri: I thought I circled spot 3.

Hayama: So the question is whether one of you is an idiot or one of you is a Mole.

Tomoyo: Although it could be one of each.

(Shot of Tenchi, frantically trying to find spot eight. Alternating shots between the carriage and Tenchi, still looking for the spot.)

(Shinobu X’s spot 8.)

(Shot of the library, as Manny waits for the carriage to approach. It does… carrying all five members. Caption- "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED")
Hayama: (VO) I think that in the end, all of us decided right from the start that we wouldn’t lose this. Losing the last one was disappointing to a lot of the others, and it seems that everybody was set out on winning this win.

Tomoyo: (VO) We wouldn’t take no for an answer. It seems like all five of us worked extremely hard, and were not going to let an assignment like this get past us. We all did our parts for this one… which is really a problem since somebody’s supposed to be a traitor.

Ruri: (VO) I kept my eye on everybody. I noticed that Hayama ignored that one book. And Tenchi didn’t go to his assigned spot. But in the end, they made up for it, which makes finding out who the Mole is that much harder.

(That night, Barb is at the hotel with the five, around dinner.)

Barb: Well, here it is. Your moment of Zen. You will once again be subjected to the execution quiz, and one of you five will be eliminated from this game. Again, since you’ve all gotten so far, I think I’m under contract to wish whoever goes the best with wherever life takes them. There is currently $415,000 in the pot, which will go to the lucky winner.

(Shot of Tenchi, in an interview setting.)
Tenchi: There’s been a lot of tension and verbal assault lately. I mean, we know somebody’s a traitor, but even taking that out of the picture, sometimes you get the feeling that we just do not make a very good team.

(Shot of Ruri in the interview set.)
Ruri: I don’t think we’re a good team. We’re constantly keeping an eye on everybody, nobody’s willing to step up and suggest something, and there’s just too many bakas for the team to call themselves successful. I don’t doubt that the Mole could have something to do with it, but it’s getting to the point where we’re pointing fingers, and we’re failing assignments at the same time.

(Shot of Hayama.)
Hayama: I wouldn’t mind if Tomoyo left the game. She keeps screwing up stuff, and I just don’t like her attitude. I don’t know if she is the Mole, I don’t know if she isn’t, but she’s just not contributing enough to the team to keep her on it.

(Shot of Taichi.)
Taichi: I know I said all that stuff about Tomoyo, but in the end, it’s Hayama that really freaks me out sometimes. He’s just cold, and doesn’t seem to respond to anything. And even when that becomes a perfect trait to do something like guard a doorway, he can’t come through for us.

(Shot of Tomoyo.)
Tomoyo: That stuff that Taichi said after the fort thing was really mean. I’m sorry for what I did, I messed  up, and I’m willing to accept it. But he just gets on my case about it, and doesn’t even attempt to apologize later. I helped him through so much with Satoshi, and this is how he repays me. That’s not how two teammates are supposed to act.

(Now, they are taking the test. Shot of Ruri, taking the test, her question is "Which stop did the Mole board the carriage at?")
Ruri: (VO) This round is tough, there were three noticeable mistakes. Tomoyo messed up in the fortress, Tenchi went to the wrong spot and Hayama ignored that book. Of all of those, Hayama’s incident seems more likely to be a sabotage attempt. But you know, after getting to know Hayama a while, I can’t seem to believe that he could be the Mole. (sighs) Sometimes I can be a baka too.

(Shot of Tenchi, taking the test.)
Tenchi: (VO) I hate to make Tomoyo mad for accusing other people, but Ruri told me to go to the second stop. It’s quite possible she simply fooled me into going to the wrong stop, and costing us the game. Also, Ruri was the one shouting orders at all of us; it would be very easy to lead us astray. Sure Tomoyo did some suspicious stuff too, but just like always- I’m having problems with more than one woman.

(Shot of Taichi, taking the test.)
Taichi: (VO) It’s down to Hayama, Tenchi, and Tomoyo in my mind. Sure Tomoyo screwed up the challenge, but Hayama was supposed to be guarding the door, and left it to help Tenchi. If it wasn’t for him, Tomoyo wouldn’t have been put in that situation. And we all saw what Tenchi did in the library challenge.

(Shot of Tomoyo, taking the test.)
Tomoyo: (VO) I can’t believe Tenchi would go to the wrong stop on accident. That’s even more boneheaded than what I did in the fortress. But also, Taichi wasn’t there to back up Hayama when he left. And he seemed to have no remorse after what he said to me. That hurt. But I’d be willing to forgive him if he apologized. I’m starting to think that the argument Satoshi and Taichi had played a part in Satoshi’s execution. I can’t trust Taichi anymore, and if he is in fact the Mole… I could be reunited with Sakura really fast.

(Inside another antiquated, spacious room. Barb is with computer. At least now, the five all have comfy chairs to sit on.)

Barb: Welcome my pretties. Prepare to meet thy maker. You know the routine, if the thumbprint is red, you get a one-way ticket out of this hellhole. Although it seems that with some of you, that’s not such a bad thing. Who wants to go first?

(After a bit of hesitation, Tomoyo raises her hand.)

Barb: Alright.
(Barb types "TOMOYO" into the computer. It processes for a second, shot of Tomoyo.)

(It flashes green.)

Barb: Ruri. You’re next.
(Barb types "RURI" into the computer. It processes for a second, shot of Ruri.)

(It flashes green.)

Barb: Taichi.
(Barb types "TAICHI" into the computer. It processes for a second, shot of Taichi.)

(It flashes green.)

Barb: Hayama.
(Barb types "HAYAMA" into the computer. It processes for a second, shot of Hayama.)

(It flashes red.)

Barb: Mr. Hayama?

(Nope. He’s still neutral. He receives handshakes from Tomoyo and Tenchi, before reaching Ruri. Ruri stands up, prepares to shake his hand, about to say something. Out of nowhere, Hayama kisses her on the lips. Before she can react, Hayama walks calmly to his bag, and follows Barb out. Shot of Ruri, slightly in shock.)

Ruri: Baka.

(As Hayama is escorted out by Barb, the others give their testimony.)
Tomoyo: (VO) He was always there for the team. Sure he looked at sounded very emotionless, but underneath, it was clear that he was trying to win this just as much as anybody else out there. It’ll be a tough loss to deal with.

Tenchi: (VO) Hayama never was one for words, but he made his presence felt. Whether by actions or the few times he did say something, Hayama never let himself fall to the background. And in a game like this, that’s certainly admirable.

(Barb leads Hayama to the car, and he enters the passenger side.)

Barb: You played great Hayama. See ya round. Well, actually, no we won’t- we still aren’t planning to dub your show into English.

Hayama: Fine by me, you two would screw it up anyway.

(Follow the car as it begins to drive off. Shot of Hayama, taking one last look back at the game. He faces forward, and sighs sadly. He closes his eyes, and although it certainly looks like a tear could form, none do.)
Hayama: (VO) I’ll be honest. This was a great experience, and I had fun. I probably would have had more fun if I was the Mole, but that wasn’t my decision. It’s a bit disappointing leaving now, without knowing who it was. Not just the fact that I don’t get any of the money we played for… but the fact that I won’t be there to congratulate the person that outsmarted me. If I find out who it is, that would be the first thing I would want to do- shake his hand for a game well played.
(The car continues to drive off, as the Mole’s sixth victim, and Child’s Toy as a whole, is now out of the picture.)
