CHAPTER 4: THE SCOUT VS. THE SPROUT
Weird, I detested Sailor Moon when I first saw it on Fox Kids, but after getting a few eps of the R season, it seemed better….and the S series is very good, especially in Japanese…and whilst the dub still annoys me a bit (why put Michelle and Amara as cousins? No-one else is that stupid….oh wait, Chelsea and Zach in Cardcaptors…O.K, ignore what I said…)…but at least it’s the uncut version. Plus Rei and Usagi are funny, and Ami is just the cutest (did I mention I got a thing for bluenettes…why do you think Ruri got the only true anime cameo in this fic? ^_^)
O.K, enough about my dub/sub wars, and my obsession for kawaii blue headed girls (again, is it a surprise that Ami, Ruri AND Shinobu are in AAVGS2?), on with the show!
(Misato VO: After last night’s eviction, both tribes have to settle down, as another storm is coming upon the horizon.)
(Thunder elapses as this time, the rain hits heavy and hard.)
(Ulah tribe)
Tenchi: Storms are really starting to be a pain now.
Shinji: The room in here isn’t that good either.
Serena: It’s not our fault we’re good at winning immunity!
Julia: Come on guys, this could be a rocky ride, huddle up so we don’t have to worry.
(A few are apprehensive, especially Serena and Davis)
Serena/Davis: HUDDLE UP WITH THAT? (points to each other)
Chun-Li: (slaps forehead) Look, ignore personal feelings and hatred for now, lets just get through this night.
(Both victi…er, I mean members of the tribes are still looking at each other with evil eyes, but in the end they nod. A shot of the Ulah tribe as they are huddled close together, with Julia strategically in front of Davis so that a piece of blanket is covering his nose, holding in his snoring. Unlike Helang, there is no teasing, as they are so much more mature. Yeah, wait till the merger…)
(Speaking of Helang, with one less member, things are slightly better…although for 3 members of course, the obvious teasing reoccurs again…)
Sakura: Look, we’ve got an extra space now, do I have to do this again?
Akane: It’s better to be safe than sorry, besides…
Akane/Nene: You three look so cute!
Gary: Remind me to send Nene an e-mail virus when we get out of here.
Nene: Ha, like that could stop me. I would just…
Vivi: Guys, sorry to interrupt but the storm is getting bad with the wind crushing in. We’d better stay together.
Gohan: O.K, guys, ignore those two horrible young ladies…let’s just go to sleep.
(All three youngsters nod as Akane, Nene and Vivi also get closer, and they cuddle in together for some warmth. Even Vivi, who can gradually shut himself down is in the mixst, almost like they are now a true family.
(If Helang lose another one, I hate to choose who’d go off…oh wait, I’m the author…damn.)
Day 10: 5.58am.
(Misato: With very little sleep last night, Ulah wake up to check out the sunset.)
Duo: I thought I’d be used to getting up by now early. Guess I was wrong.
Chun: Early is still early. I’ll guess I’ll cook for a change.
Duo: (smiles) Shinji will be pissed.
Chun: Heh.
(As if on cue, Shinji along with Tenchi get up.)
Shinji: ARGH! NOT AGAIN!
Duo: Told ya.
Tenchi: Hey, leave the spineless chef alone.
Shinji: Yeah, that’s ri…HEY!
(All laugh, including Shinji eventually.)
(The noise gets up Serena, but no Davis or Julia)
Duo: Hey Serena, we’re seeing if any rats sprung up.
Serena: O.K….hey, two of us are missing.
Tenchi: Oh that’s right, Julia got up early to get some water, and Davis went along.
(Everyone is shocked)
Duo: Davis…
Shinji: …got up early…
Chun: …to…
Serena: …help someone?
(All 4 collapse anime style)
Tenchi: Hey, watch the fire!
(Misato: Meanwhile, in what must be a bold move on Julia’s part, is having a conversation with Davis.)
Julia: You O.K Davis? You haven’t really been enjoying yourself here have you?
Davis: (carrying some water) No, not really. I mean, I’ve enjoyed most of the company here, and I’ve never quit on a challenge in my life, it’s just…
Julia: …you’re homesick.
Davis: Yeah. I miss everything. I miss my mom and her cooked meals. I miss my dad reading his newpaper. Heck, I even miss my older sister moaning about Matt or Jim or whatever guy she’s got her eye on this week. I miss my friends, my fellow digidestined, I miss Kari. It’s just…
Julia: (comforting arm around Davis) Don’t let it get you down. You’re a strong kid Davis, the world needs people like you.
Davis: (smiles) Thanks.
(Julia: Davis is really missing his life. It’s really heartwarming that this kid is really chosing his true colours on this island. And it makes another interesting fact to what may happen…)
(As Davis and Julia return with the water, meat is being cut as Tenchi goes up to help with the water.)
Duo: Welcome back guys!
Chun: Yeah, we didn’t want to believe it, but unless this is an illusion, yep, Davis, your real. He did get up early!
(Davis blushes, as the others laugh)
(Davis: I don’t want to be seen as a fifth wheel, and helping Julia also helped me out. She made me open up, perhaps I secretly want outta here…but no, I gotta stay on. I gotta admit that Julia is the mother of the group by far, and I don’t see her voted off any time soon.)
* * * *
(Misato: As new revelations are shown in Ulah, grim determination is shown at Helang.)
(2 fish are hanging in Gohan’s hands as the rest of the group sit down to enjoy one rat and 2 fish.)
Vivi: Who needs fish equipment when the mister Gohan is with us.
Gohan: Guys…
Gary: He’s right you know. Without you, we’d be sitting ducks in this challenge.
Akane: But we can’t rely on Gohan. For this challenge, we have to work together.
Nene: I know I’m not the strongest here, but…
Sakura: Don’t worry Nene, look at us now. The 6 of us are united if you haven’t forgotten.
Gary: Yeah, I wonder how Jubilee’s feeling after that enslaught?
Akane: I dunno, but your right. We are more of a team now…
Nene: …I just hope that we don’t lose another immunity.
(Silence)
Vivi: Let’s not think of that, we have to win the reward challenge. We haven’t won a straight challenge yet from Ulah, this one is basically win or bust…
Gohan: Yeah. (Puts his hand in) Helang united?
(All put their hands in)
All: RIGHT!

12.00pm.
(Misato: At midday, it is time for lunch. And this reward challenge may give them the food they have been craving.)
(The two tribes are there, as Misato introduces the challenge.)
Misato: Welcome to the tribes, mostly for these challenges, we have been relying on your strength and physicallity. Today, we’re going to see how it comes to playing a game of patience and intelligence. As you can see, in front of you is a large maze game, where you simply have to move the ball as far into the maze as possibly. There are 24 holes in there, each marked with a number. The team which gets the furthest wins the reward. This game will be played by 4 people, so choose your four most patient people.
(Both tribes huddle. Ulah select Julia, Tenchi, Duo and after a long debate, Shinji. Helang choose Nene, Gary, Gohan and Vivi.)
Misato: O.K, Ulah you may go first. Both tribes have three attempts. You may start.
(Each member of Ulah are at a different side of the maze as they start tipping. They make a good start but a bit of miscommunication is made between Shinji and Duo as they try to get past hole 8 and it falls.)
Misato: Helang, you’ve got to beat 8.
(Helang’s first attempt is screwed up at hole 3 where Vivi doesn’t lift it right.)
Misato: Helang, as you are behind, you get the second attempt.
(This time, Helang calm down and are much more organised. Nene is an extreme strategist and plays each one perfectly, and the three guys listen to her, and each time it work as they past 8 and go up to 10.)
(Meanwhile…)
Akane: They’re listening to her. Without the two bakas around, Nene is gaining her confidence and the guys are gaining respect and listening to her. We could win this one.
Sakura: Yeah!
(Ulah)
Chun: That Nene is good. She seems to be more of a mental threat than a physical one.
Davis: She’s quite cute as well…not as cute as Kari but…
Serena: She’s also almost twice your age as well! Grr…
(The maze is getting stronger as they manage to manoever the trick 18-19 hole and hit the wood. They stay still as Nene contemplates the next move.)
Nene: Gary, hold it up so that it continues across the wood. When I say now, Gohan push it hard. O.K?
Gohan/Gary: O.K.
(The instruction is met. The ball slowly goes across the wood, it’s about to hit hole 20 when Nene says ‘NOW!’ Gohan pushes it and it skids past the hole to the cheers of Helang!)
Nene: Yes, it worked, now…oh.
(Unfortunately, the momentum carried it into hole 21.)
Misato: That doesn’t matter. That puts Helang way into the lead (applause from both tribes) which mean Ulah you have to beat 21.
(Ulah tribe tried to recal how Nene did it, but it is screwed up right away as they do worse than before and fall in hole 4.)
Misato: This is your final chance Ulah. You have to beat 21.
(Ulah are more composed as Duo gives instructions. They are much calmer and start to manoever it up to hole 15. Helang is getting worried.)
Nene: Not again!
(They get past 16, and then 17. Now the tricky 18-19 where they have to manoever in between two holes, one to the left and one to the right.)
Duo: If we get past this, we can win.
(Duo calls instructions and they slide past them, but the momentum is too strong and it bounces back and falls into hole 19. Helang cheer as Ulah for the first time in a while look a bit dejected.)
Misato: Ulah, well done, you got to 19, but the winners with 21 are Helang, and this is your reward. 3 new members to your tribe, however, how long you wish for them to remain members is up to you…
(Helang gasp as three young chocobos (chickens from the Final Fantasy games) are in a small pen as Helang rejoice. Ulah of course, are upset and both tribes go back to their camp.)
12.40pm.
(Misato: Helang’s spirits are raised for the first time in a while as chicken is ready for the menu.)
Gohan: It looks like chicken and rice tonight!
Nene: Yay!
(Gary: We’re not gonna eat them right away. We’ll have one today, and then decide when to eat the rest. We’re gonna stew the carcasses as well for some chicken soup as well, which means we shouldn’t be hungry for a few days anyway!)
(Sakura: I gotta say that Nene was magnificent today. If it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have come close to winning that challenge. Nene was our unoffical leader today, and she passed with flying colours.)
(Nene: I hope that made up for my screw-ups in the past. Without Genki and Jubilee I gotta say I am much happier here now than ever, which may have helped in my performance today.)
Akane: We have to feed them as well?
Gary: Well, two of them anyway…
Sakura: Have it for supper shall we?
Gohan: Yeah, we can wait. Let’s just savior our first clean victory over Ulah, and that they aren’t invincible.
Vivi: Three cheers for Helang, and especially for Miss Nene!
Nene: (blushes) I haven’t been called that for a while.
Vivi: Hip hip…
ALL: HOORAY!

(Ulah tribe)
(Misato: Meanwhile, tensions begin to rise again in the Ulah tribe, and to take their mind of their loss, they talk about how they lost that one.)
Duo: I don’t think it was anything wrong that we did, it was just…
Chun: They seemed much stronger than before!
Duo: Yeah, I think that whoever they voted off may have effected morale…
Chun: Like…
Duo: We won’t go into that, wait for immunity.
Chun: Sure.
(Duo: I think me and Chun are getting good friends now. The longer we are on the island, the longer the game interests me and the relationships grow. The 5 of us in the group are fairly strong together. Davis is a good kid as well but he is the youngest so it makes it difficult for him to fit in, and Serena is just Serena.)
(Tenchi and the others have joined the two by the fire)
Tenchi: That girl, Nene, she really rallied them on.
Julia: I think that her game is definitely intelligence in this. Physically we are more than a match for her, but mentally, she seems to be stronger than anyone on the island.
Shinji: I think we just found a new threat from Helang.
Davis: They are all threats, but in different ways.
(Julia: The loss today, provided us more unique perspectives on how to play the game. As Nene proved, sometimes it is the smartest survivor which can win the game, not necessarily the strongest. Out of the group here, I would say that Duo and Tenchi could win this game, but I’m not counting myself out yet.)
(Serena: We’ve got immunity tomorrow, I think they may be stronger now and have that yummy reward, but we can still win!)

(8.00pm. Helang)
Sakura: I guess it’s time.
Gohan: Who’s gonna do it?
Vivi: I will. I’ve had the most experience with these things.
(Some are surprised but head no attention as the young baby chocobo is petted by Vivi, calming it down. He then just as calmly, snaps the nack of the chocobo. It’s danging in his arms as Akane takes it off him.)
Vivi: I didn’t like doing it, but I had to.
Sakura: Vivi, your more of an enigma than a few of my friends back home.
Nene: So, shall we roast it?
Gary: Yeah me lady.
(Gary starts plucking as Gohan makes a fire. Sakura has brought in two fish so it will be a nice flavour of chicken, fish and rice for a late night supper. Before long…)
Gohan: It’s ready!
Akane: Yay, I’m famished!
(Sakura cuts up the cooked chicken and a nice bit of meat is put on as Nene adds some fish in with the rice, stirred up, it looks crispy and delicious.)
Gary: Altogether now, 1-2-3! (All take a bit of the mini-meal they made, and all groan in satisfaction.)
Nene: Delicious, we needed some real food.
Gary: Hmm…we’re gonna be fed well for tomorrow’s challenge.
Akane: Your right, we’re gonna win.
(The group eat well and make small chatter before it’s all done. As the rest go to bed, Sakura and Akane do the dishes before returning to the camp themselves. It’s a goodnight to all in Helang.)
(next morning)

(Ulah tribe: Day 11, 6.30am)
(Misato: Ulah off the night of a rare defeat, are mentally preparing for immunity today.)
Duo: One victory doesn’t necessarily makes them winners. Up till now, we’ve been dominating.
Chun: They’ll have some confidence though, their strength and morale has probably been raised after yesterday.
Tenchi: We have to think. If we win, we’ll be at a huge advantage with people, but if we lose…
Julia: We’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.
(Shot of Davis and Shinji getting some water and Serena coming
out of the sea, failing in catching some fish.)
Serena: Sorry guys, nothings biting!
Davis: They saw you and ran away!
Serena: TAKE THAT BACK!
(Shinji: Serena quickly gets upset about little things, almost as bad as a friend of mine back home, and that’s probably the reason I’m leaning towards Serena to get voted off rather than Davis. Serena is older and physically perhaps more able, but Davis is no slouch either when he wants to be.)
(It’s just rice for breakfast as there is no fish or rat, as Serena couldn’t catch any…and couldn’t be bothered to dive for any either.)
(Helang meanwhile have fed well last night and have the strength to catch some decent breakfast)
Gohan: Ha ha!
(Gohan jumps with a trademark DBZ fish, aka, HUGE)
Rest of Ulah: WHOA!
Gohan: Heh, I knew they’re would be one somewhere.
Gary: Man, that can keep us going for the rest of the week!
Nene: Chicken, fish, damn we’re gonna be eating well.
(Nene and Sakura prepare the fish as the fire starts. They take part of the fish and enjoy it as they discuss future events)
Gary: Being well fed from last night and this morning, we’ve got the strength and the spirit to win today.
Akane: (with moutful) Hmmph, muff mi, mo mmm…
Nene: You said it Akane!
(All laugh)
(Akane: The fact that we are getting so well together is so great for the tribe. The only downfall is if we lose immunity, and unlike the last two, it will be a hell of a lot more difficult to vote someone off.)
(Immunity challenge)
(Shot of a part of the jungle where the two tribes are meeting. Misato is there in the middle to explain.)
Misato: Welcome tribes of Ulah and Helang. Today as you know, you will be competiting for immunity, and we have come here to the jungle for today’s challenge.
(Shot of jungle, where you can see shades of blue and yellow around the green lush of the wilderness)
Misato: The challenge is simple. Each member of the tribe will run into the jungle and collect a mask of their tribe (Yellow for Helang, Blue for Ulah), and bring it back here. When someone brings one back, another person goes in to collect one and so on. There are 10 masks out there. Whoever brings them all back quickest wins immunity. Got it?
(General murmurs of agreement)
Misato: O.K, every member must go so no-one can drop out. First survivors step up.
(For Ulah it’s Tenchi, for Helang it’s Gohan. They whisper good luck to each other surprisingly.)
Misato: GO!
(Tenchi navigates his way through the jungle much better than Gohan but Gohan is quicker. They both go for the mask at a far end and are practically neck a neck as Tenchi hands over to Duo and Gohan hands over to Akane.)
(Duo this time is quicker but Akane goes for a closer mask than Duo. Akane gets back first but strategy is the key element as Gary enters. Duo gets the mask and hands over to Chun-Li.)
(Gary grabs a mask near the centre and Chun-Li goes for the back again. At this point Helang sees the strategy and need a real burst of energy to get back in this. As Gary comes back, Chun isn’t far behind and the masks are closer for Ulah.)
(With this, Nene navigates like an expert and collects a mask from the back. As Julia enters, Nene sprints back and hands over to Sakura. Julia collects the next nearest mask and hands over to Shinji.)
(Sakura sprints like a demon to get the next furthest one as Shinji starts to collect another one and are neck a neck, with Ulah still having more closer masks as Sakura hands over to Vivi and Shinji to Serena.)
(Vivi collects a mask close and quickly returns. Serena also collects a close mask, but gives a moment hesitation before handing it over to Davis.)
(Gohan immediately bolts for the furthest mask, with one in the middle and one at the front still left. All three Ulah masks are fairly close, but as Davis runs out, he trips. Ulah groan and Davis is obviously hurt. However, he gets a close mask as Gohan hands over to Nene.)
(Nene sprints over to the middle mask quickly as Tenchi finally gets the tag and flies in to get a mask. Nene tags in Akane for the final mask. Akane quickly grabs the final mask and is back before Tenchi can tag Duo. Helang, miracously win.)
Akane: YEEEEESSSS! (Helang get into a celebrating group hug as Ulah are disappointed, the one most Davis.)
Davis: I cost us.
Misato: (get a medic here)Shot of Davis’s knee, bleeding with dirt mixed in. Serena looks ready to be sick and Chun-Li is also queazy.)
(Helang stop their celebrations and see the seriousness of the injury to Davis. A couple of medics, Nurse Joy and Dr. Tofu are there to analyse the situation.)
Tofu: I think we need to bandage it like a sling, the bleeding has stopped, it’s gonna hurt like hell.
Davis: I’m…s.ss..sorry…I cost us…
Julia: Don’t say or think anything like that, you’re hurt Davis!
(Eventually after various anteseptics and bandging, Tenchi and Duo lift up Davis as Misato finally delivers the verdict.)
Misato: Although the injury to Davis is obviously a serious matter, it does mean that Helang win immunity, so Ulah, I will see you at Tribal Council.
(Helang and Ulah return to their camps, Helang celebrations a bit more muted.)
(Helang tribe)
Misato: (The camp is a bit hot and cold in the air after the reflections of the last immunity challenge.)
Gary: A bit of luck shone through today, and I hate to say it, but I feel bad for Ulah, especially Davis.
Akane: I think they had it won, and poor Davis fell.
(Sakura: I was so scared seeing Davis’ fall like that, it looked really bad, and I just hope he’s O.K.)
(Gohan: Davis feel and cost his team immunity, and hurt himself badly. He is in really bad shape in more ways than one, which is a real shame, he’s seems to be the most vulnerable of their team already.)
(Nene: It’s horrid to see Davis hurt himself like that, we basically stole that victory with a bit of luck. We hope he’s all right.)
(A lunch of fish and rice, obviously saving the chicken for another night is made, and they reflect on at least another 3 days on the island.)
(Ulah tribe)
(Misato: After their long track not helped by Davis on the way back to camp, Davis tries his best to get back into the swing of things.)
(Shot of Davis with a bamboo pole used like a walking stick, up to the sea, and there are obvious tears in his eyes.)
Davis: I’m gone. My fault and this injury.
(behind him) Tenchi: Don’t blame yourself.
Davis: (turns) Tenchi, please…I know that even without this injury you would vote for me tonight…
Tenchi: (shakes his head) Davis, please don’t say that. To be honest, I was going to vote for Serena, but…
Davis: …this changes everything. I’m going to be useless around the camp, I don’t have a chance of winning this thing and…
Tenchi: …you can go home.
Davis: Huh?
Tenchi: (with a hand round his shoulder) Davis, don’t deny this, you’re homesick, more so than anyone here. You feel like you’re out of place because you’re the youngest, but you have tried so hard in work and in bonding with the group which is more I can say than one person here at least.
Davis: (quiet for a few seconds) Tenchi…
Tenchi: Yeah….
Davis: Promise me something…
(We cut to a different shot…HA…to the remainder of the offical alliance as Serena is trying to sleep, and the sun is coming in.)
Chun: As much as I hate to say it, Davis.
Julia: I don’t want to, but the poor lad’s injury…(trying to fight tears)
Duo: You’re like his mother to him you know.
Julia: I know…I care about him…I just don’t want to see him suffer.
Shinji: I’m still going to vote for Serena.
Duo: Me too.
Chun: Why?
Duo: Maybe his injury isn’t as bad, and I think morale is better. Davis is like the unofficial member of the alliance to say the least.
Chun: I would agree with you, but I don’t really want to risk Davis-kun to hurt himself more. He's struggling now.
(See a shot of Davis crying and Tenchi is hugging him. This is too much for Julia and breaks down herself.)
Duo: Hey, hey. We’ll let Tenchi decide.
Julia: Whaa..(sniff.)..what?
Duo: We’ll vote for Serena, you two vote for Serena. Davis will vote for Serena and vice versa, let Tenchi decide.
Chun: Are you sure?
Duo: Yeah.
(Tenchi is coming back as Davis is sitting by the sea, the sunset starting to go down.)
Julia: Tenchi…
Shinji: We’ve got a kind of problem here…
DAY 11: 6.00am.
(Misato: Ulah wake up as a sunrise enters, and two people are enjoying this sunrise.)
(Shot of Davis outside, yes, he’s up that early, as a shuffle behind him is heard.)
Davis: Hey Julia.
(The Tekken fighter sits beside him.)
Julia: Davis, seeing this sunset, it’s beautiful isn’t it.
Davis: Yeah. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it, let alone appreicate it. I’m never up early enough to see it.
Julia: Davis…
Davis: Yeah…
Julia: I want to tell you a story. Back home, my mother was captured by a man named Heihachi Mishima. She was my adopted mother, but she had learned about an evil entity name ‘Ogre.’ Anyway, I won’t bore you with the details of the tournament, what happened was two boys, Jin and Hwoarang managed to stop Heihachi and this Ogre before it could drain anymore souls. Me and Jin became good friends from that. After rescuing my mother, the first thing that she wanted to do was watch the sunset and sunrise with me.
Davis: Huh? Why is that?
Julia: Because after that experience, she realised that she must cherish every moment of life she can. And because her home is where the heart is. The point I’m saying Davis is that you’re hurt, and you miss home. I don’t want to do this…I’ll miss you, you seem like the energetic younger brother I never had…but I’ll say it. I’m voting for you tonight, but not because of you on the island, because of the you that wanted to leave. (small tears form)
Davis: Julia…
Julia: Yeah?
(Davis hugs her gently.)
Davis: Thank you, you’re like my sister and my mother on this island. I am hoping I’ll go today…so please…
(Julia hugs Davis for a bit longer, as back at camp, Tenchi is watching.)
Tenchi: Good on you guys.
(Helang: 11.00am.)
(Misato: A quiet night with no worries left the tribe to sleep comfortably and are having a brunch as all their problems seem to have vanished.)
(Shot of Akane, Nene, Gohan and Gary are swimming in the sea, Sakura and Vivi are cooking.)
Gary: Join in guys!
Sakura/Vivi: We would but we’re kinda busy!
Gary: (sarcastic) Oh that’s right, you’re cooking today. Oh too bad! (And narrowly gets avoid getting dunked in by Akane.)
Sakura/Vivi: Remind me to vote you off ASAP! (All laugh as Gary is red-faced.)
Gary: Hmmmph…
(Sakura/Vivi high five in the wake of achieving the impossible…shutting up Gary Oak.)
Sakura: You know, when the damascus blade isn’t hanging over your head, everything seems to be much more relaxing.
Vivi: Yeah, I think we’ve got the advantage now, if we win the next two challenges…we can really hurt Ulah.
Sakura: Yeah…but I have a hunch it’s not going to be that easy. A lot of them are really nice guys so I heard so it’s gonna be difficult…and that Tenchi is a cutey!
Vivi: (groans) Not you too!
Sakura: Just kidding!
(In the sea)
Akane: Hey, don’t push me too far! I’m not that good at swimming!
Gary: Ah, got a reason to vote for you now, thanks for that…
Akane: (holding up Gary after just smashing his head with her mallet) As you were saying…
(Gohan and Nene crack up)
(Misato: All is O.K at Helang. Ulah however, tonight is the trip to Tribal Council.)
(It’s dark and Tribal Council is looming. But we can hear Davis and Tenchi talking.)
Davis: Promise?
Tenchi: I promise. I don’t want to but…O.K.
(Tribal Council)
(Misato: The march to tribal council is a difficult one for any tribe, especially with Davis who is without his pole and is struggling to keep up. However, they make it to tribal council, where the night is dark and threatening to storm, reflecting the mood of many of the tribe.)
Misato: Well, tonight Ulah, if you had told me you’d be at Tribal Council three days ago, I would have laughed. However, Helang has won twice in a row. Shinji, what happened?
Shinji: I think a combination of a more united Helang and a bit of luck is what has kept them away from Tribal Council today. I think this is a one-off though, and Ulah will be back stronger than ever.
Msato: Speaking of which, Davis, as much as I hate to say it, you are at a terrible disadvantage with your knee injury. Do you think you can survive tonight?
Davis: (sighs) To be honest, no. I honestly expect to be voted off tonight, and I won’t be surprised or upset if it happens. I screwed up and I’m no use to Ulah in this condition. All I can say is, if I’m voted off, it is definitely for the best.
Misato: Whoa….nice words Davis, what was your luxury item, a dictionary?
(all laugh)
Misato: Finally, Julia, what is your prediction for the future?
Julia: No-one here can successfully predict the future, but Ulah will be back, ready and stronger to take down Helang. I hope this will be our final tribal council before the merger.
Misato: Thank you, as it’s seems appropriate, Davis can you vote first?
(Davis goes and hobbles to the pedesal. He writes down his vote ‘SERENA’.)
Davis: I honestly expect to go tonight, but I can’t go down without a fight. Serena hasn’t been as bad recently, but she is still the weakest person of the tribe…well, until last night.
(Davis goes and Julia goes, we can’t see her vote. Chun goes up and votes ‘DAVIS’)
Chun: You fool, trust me, if it wasn’t for the injury, you wouldn’t have been on this paper.
(After Chun, Duo goes up and votes. Then Shinji, and we see ‘SERENA.’)
Shinji: I said a few days ago I was going to vote for her, and I stick by that, no matter what has happened in the last couple of days.
(After Shinji, Serena votes and finally Tenchi. We can’t see his vote.)
Misato: Thank you Tenchi. And now, the horrible part, the results.
(Misato takes the first one.)
Misato: Davis.
(Davis nods.)
Misato: Davis.
(Davis has a smile on his face.)
Misato: Serena.
(Serena is a bit surprised, but shrugs it off.)
Misato: Serena.
(Now Serena is really surprised.)
Misato: Davis.
(Davis is still calm and smiles more.)
Misato: Serena.
(Now Davis is surprised. Serena is panicking but…)
Misato: The final vote…(sighs)…Davis. Davis can you come and get your torch please?
(Davis breathes out, and hobbles up. Tenchi offers help but Davis refuses it and goes up and gets his torch. Goes up to Misato and both are smiling.)
Misato: Davis, you know that fire represents your life on this island, your life has now ended. Will you please extinguish your flame?
(Davis does so and the smoke trails out.)
Misato: The tribe has spoken Davis, and you must leave.
(Davis nods but before he does, he turns to them.)
Davis: I’m glad you did this, despite everything it was better this way. Thank you all for a great time, and I’ll miss you.
(Memebrs of Ulah, specifically Shinji, Julia and Tenchi gets
up and shake his hand and hug him. The others join in until
finally it’s Serena.)
Davis: Serena…
(Without warning, and despite everything, Serena gets up and hugs Davis. Davis is surprised but accepts it, and notices tears in Serena’s eyes…)
Davis: Thank you. (With that, he walks out, calmly and his head up high.)
Misato: That had to be very difficult for you Ulah, but you have all survived this Tribal Council, and you’ll have to have a good think about the future now. Go back to your camp and I’ll see you tomorrow.
(All leave, a bit solemly, some more than others.)
Davis: I had to go. I wanted to go. I missed home, and whilst I’ll miss Ulah, I’m glad I was the choice.

Julia: Davis, all I can say is sorry…
Davis: I can go home and see my friends, and be a normal kid who saves the world. O.K that wasn’t right…

Serena: You’ll be surprised at this, but this vote isn’t about our past problems. To be honest, I’ll miss you, I won’t have anyone to argue with! You were the most interesting person on the island…and I’ll…miss you.
Davis: Who will win? Tenchi and Julia are my two picks, but for now, it’s time to see Kari and all my friends. And I can’t wait.
(Tenchi’s vote ‘DAVIS.’)
Tenchi: You told me to vote for you, I wasn’t going to, and I had the swing vote for the tribe. Before Council however, you made me fulfil this promise. Davis, you’ve been many things on this island, a fun guy, a hot head, a lazybones, a hard worker, a philosopher, and above all, a good friend and key member to the tribe. Things are gonna be less interesting without you pal, enjoy your life.
Davis: See ya guys!
Misato: Davis at first seemed to be cannon fodder for the key alliance, however, his openiness and increasing confidence increased his popularity within the tribe and looked to stay on a bit longer. However, a mistake in the last immunity challenge and a resulting injury made concerns for the tribe and for him a bit more important than personal feelings, and in a close vote, Davis was voted off.

I decided who to vote at the last minute, I think a whitewash for Serena was too obvious, this makes it a bit more of a surprise, and gives Davis a signal of dignity and respect among the tribe as well.
