CHAPTER 7: MERGE SEKUTU…REMOVE ONE PROBLEM
The first chapter of the merge, and it’s ready to rumble….and let’s find out who goes…
…unless you’ve skipped to the end, so ignore what I just said.
O.K, let’s Gekiga-in! (Yes, I’m still watching too much Nadesico…)
This chapter will be much shorter because there are really only two days activity here, so forgive me.
Also, the elimination in this one is a homage to a character from a real time reality show which to my knowledge hasn’t been changed into an anime rip-off (yet), see if you can recognise it.

DAY 18
Misato: The tribe formerly known as Helang realise that they could be in potential trouble. They remain united sticking as a tribe, despite Gary’s surprise exit.
Nene: I was all set to go, and then Gohan springs that trick to Gary.
Gohan: My move was based on who I thought we needed. Akane is the leader, Nene is the brains and Sakura is the morale, with myself as the physical mastermind. Gary, sadly, was starting to grate on people’s nerves…which is a shame, because I generally did like the guy.
(The final night goes quickly enough as Misato begins to deliver a message to both tribes.)
Misato: For once, I’m breaking the UK survivor code and am sending them messages for them to meet me after they are picked up to survey each other beaches. What can I say, I want a break….
(Two speedboats takes the two tribes to the opposite beaches. Both tribes have varying opinions of the other beaches)
Shinji: (at Helang) Well, it doesn’t seem bad…
Serena: I think it’s a dump!
Julia: It isn’t as organised as our beach.
Tenchi: I guess we worked more together than they did.
Duo: It doesn’t matter to me, move stay, stay move, one of us is still going to win the money.
Chun: That’s right! Let’s get them on our turf, and just crush them!
(on Ulah beach, the Helang group are very surprised by the set-up)
Sakura: Wow, it’s like paradise! (Sakura jumps on a hammock which was used by Shinji in his infamous spying session) I could just sleep here instead of the camps!
Akane: Yes, but how would Gohan keep warm?
Gohan: (blushes) Hey!
Nene: I guess it wouldn’t matter, because sadly, they are 6 to 4, so it doesn’t matter what we say anyway.
Sakura: Let’s just stay here, maybe we can cause a surprise or two along the way!
Akane: Keep with the optimism, Sakura, we’ll need it.

(Both tribes meet with Misato on the centre of the two beaches. Before they do anything, they burn the last remaining items of their old units, their T-shirts. Helangs are yellow, and Ulah’s are blue.)
Misato: Well, now we are more warmer than we needed to be…we’ve got a decision. Who wants to stay at Ulah beach?
(All 10 survivors put their hands up, Ulah surprised but accepting.)
Misato: That was an anti-climax, unanimous to say the least. So, I guess the finals are determed on the form Ulah beach, now will be known as Sekutu beach, meaning ‘merged’ or ‘joined’. I suggest you get to know your new teammates well, as 7 of you will be on the jury of the damned, 2 of you will get a chance to win 1 million pounds…and one of you will be the first victim as early in two nights. However, for tonight, there is no reward challenge, just one of two surprises back at your home. That is the good surprise. Now the bad one.
(The next tribe groan)
Misato: Since you are a new tribe, we’ve decided to give you a new beginning. So, everything you've made former Ulah, has been taken down…
Duo: You sneaky….
Misato: Which means you’ll have to start from scratch, and remember there are 10 of you now, at the start of the game there was 8, meaning that this could be difficult. So, get acquainted and prepared, because you’ll need it.
(Misato leaves as the new tribe, ‘Sekutu’ begin to leave, ready for the best…or the worst.)

Tenchi: First impressions are always important when facing the other tribe. Many of the others are just thinking they’ll be quickly cast to the waste side, but I’ve never judged like that, and am certainly hoping that I can know some of these.
(Shot of the group, returning to their new camp, and see the good surprise, a full barbecue set, with large steaks, meaning for today, they won’t starve. However, after that, they’ll need to start working for their meals.)
Serena: Yay! Real food!
Julia: So fish and lobster weren’t real food?
Gohan: Lobster? How’d you get that?
Tenchi: Julia is our diving expert, don’t ask how she does it, but she’s amazing.
Julia: (blushes) Tenchi!
Nene: It quickly got established that Tenchi and Julia are the leaders of their old tribe, so if Helang have any chance of surviving, then those two are the ones we need to warm too.
(The BBQ is cooking, and despite obvious tribal loyalties, both tribes are certainly making an effort to talk to each other. Akane and Julia have quickly bonded, and Tenchi is complimenting Sakura’s cooking technique. However, one certain Ulah member has another plan…)
Serena: (cheerful) Hey Nene!
Nene: Uh…(looks up from eating)…heh, hey Serena.
Serena: Hey, I’ve seen you in action, you’re really smart, I hope we can become good friends!
Nene: You’re a bubbly girl Serena, reminds me when I was younger.
Serena: Heh, you were young?
Nene: Hey, it happened once!
Serena: (laughs) Ha, you’re funny!
Serena: I know my only chance of winning is to turn a backstab against Ulah. Nene seems to be the weak link of the group and I’m trying to work on her, and hopefully the others can go.
Nene: Serena...I’m not sure what to make of her, on one hand, she’s fun and bubbly, but on the other hand, she’s a member of Ulah. I really need to think…
Gohan: Hey, can I have another burger please?
Sakura: Jeez, Gohan, you have a super human diet!
Tenchi: Heh, we’ve seen him in action, I have a feeling he needs it.
Gohan: (sweatdrops) Er, well…
Gohan: Tenchi obviously sees me as a threat, and I have a scary feeling that I am the first victim tomorrow…unless I win immunity. That’s my first thought.
(Akane is talking with Julia and Chun-Li)
Julia: Anything goes?
Akane: Yeah, it’s quite reckless, but it’s excellent for aerial and mid-air battles.
Chun-Li: Ha, you aren’t as quick as me!
Akane: Oh yeah?
Chun-Li: Bring it on!
(both girls go into…a starring contest. Julia sweatdrops.)
Julia: O.K…
Julia: Akane seems a fiery person…but she’s also a nice girl. It seems like we have quite a bit in common. I just hope that she isn’t slaughtered by our group in tomorrow’s immunity.
Akane: You can see everyone is eyeing everyone else. I think Gohan is in the most trouble, with me next. Hopefully I can keep friendly in Chun-Li and Julia, and survive at least to the jury.
(Finally, Duo and Shinji are surveying everyone)
Duo: Well, they all seem to be friendly at least…
Shinji: Yeah, more than a few people back home…
Duo: Heh. Let’s go get to know them a bit better. Don’t want to be left out.
(Shinji nods, as they go talk to Tenchi, Sakura and Gohan. As they finish the meal, they turn to the second surprise, no shelter.)
(The group quickly disperses to do their work. With Gohan speeding about , the work is halved, and Ulah is very impressed. Akane also impressed with some impressive showings of strength, which leads to her commented that she can bench press 400 pounds, which none of Ulah can do…Sakura and Nene pitch in as well, obviously not as strong as the other two, but the sweat on Sakura’s face shows she’s putting her all.)
(However, one member is not as hardworking…)
Shinji: Serena, can you give us a hand?
Serena: Hey, you’re all doing great! I’m just getting the sleeping stuff ready!
Shinji: We’re all working together, why can’t you?
Serena: I AM HELPING!
(Immediately after this yell, Nene notes it down and goes to Akane.)
Nene: I think we may have been handing a lifeline.
(As the group works on, and yes, Serena does help out, but when she’s carrying one bamboo pole, and struggling, Akane is carrying 5. When Sakura comes by with 2, Nene helps her out, as Ulah notice their workmanship.)
Tenchi: They are close.
Duo: I feel a bit upset now, that we have to break a group up like this. Not in my nature, and with those three girls there…
Julia: I don’t know if I can say anything.
(The shelter is made, large enough for the 10 people to sleep in, mostly the arrangements are Ulah on one and Helang on the other. However, Tenchi realises how it’s set and gets up and sets himself by Nene.)
Nene: What…you doing?
Tenchi: Hey, we’re separating here, we’re not two tribes now, we’ve got to remain together. So let’s try tonight. (holds his hand) I’m Tenchi Masaki.
Nene: (smiles) Nene Romanova. (they shake)
(Tenchi lays down by the group and gets comfortable. Julia looks up and smiles before going back to sleep)
Julia: Tenchi is such a nice guy. The fact that he’s comforting Helang shows that, but also that he’s a smart player. I’m pretty sure that Helang will have realised what a threat he is, but he’s trying to make it easier for them…or he’s a lady killer. Then again, with his home life, I doubt that.
Day 19
The first challenge commences at 8am sharp. With two hours in the morning for them to have a hearty breakfast of crabs (thanks to Julia AND Sakura), the thinking of the later challenge and who could go.
Tenchi: You’re a good cook Sakura-chan!
Sakura: (blushes) Well…
Julia: Yeah, you’re very atheltic too, you kept up with me pace for pace, none of the guys ever want to help me…well, apart from you Tenchi.
Sakura: Guys…
Sakura: I’m quickly making friends with Tenchi and Julia. I know that physically, I probably won’t have a chance against them, but any chance I can have, I going to go for it. I won’t give up…
(Meanwhile, Shinji is observing the group)
Shinji: (to himself) Sakura is very friendly, and most of the group is warming up to her. If the votes go as I think, she’ll probably be the last of Helang to go. Gohan is in the most danger though…
Gohan: Hey Shinji!
Shinji: (realising what he’s doing) Oh, hi Gohan, I guess your friend has taken over cooking for me today!
Gohan: Heh. You know, that’s the first time someone said friend instead of…
Shinji: Oh. (smiles) I know exactly how you feel…
Gohan: Yeah…
Shinji: Gohan certainly could win this, but sadly everyone else sees that as well, and that’s why he’s in the most danger.
(However, do Helang have a lifeline in Serena…)
Serena: Yeah, I’ve been in danger since the first episode. None of the others trust me, so to be honest, yeah, I’d be willing to stab them in the back.
Nene: Heh, an evil mind meets a genius one. This could be good….
Akane: (whispers) …yet it could be bad.
Serena: Huh, what?
Akane: Nothing. I guess I’d better talk to Sakura and Gohan then.
Nene: Do it after the challenge, that way we know what the situation is.
Chun: (entering) Hey, is this a private party or room for one more?
Nene: Sure!
Chun: I think the others are bonding more than I thought.
(Shot of Gohan tickling Sakura, who’s laughing like crazy, as are Tenchi and Julia. Shinji and Duo are smiling, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere)
Chun: Crazy kids…
Akane: That’s right, they should be mature…like me!
(Mass sweatdrop alert…)

(Immunity challenge: 8am. Shot of a log in the middle of the sea, as the group is dispensed, ready for whatever.)
Miasto: Well, your second day as a merged tribe, I wonder how well you’ve adjusted? Well, today, you’re on your own for today’s immunity, as when I give the signal, you are going to swim out, and get on the log. The challenge is simple. Whoever stays on the log longest will win immunity. Now it’s essential to win as you alone are guaranteed safety for another day. Now, get ready to swim whilst I relax with a beer.
(she sniggers as the group, especially Shinji, groan.)
Shinji: She always gets the breaks…
(The group swim out, Akane still not a strong swimmer, but Gohan helps out as best as he can. Now, as they reach the log, each of them has to get on and stay there, without food or water, as long as possible…unless of course they decide to go off, where Misato has a picnic hamper ready for anyone who wishes to join.)
Misato: This could get very interesting.
(Shot of the group on the log. Some are immediately comfortable, as Tenchi, Julia, Chun-Li, Akane, Gohan, Duo and Sakura quickly get adjusted. However, Serena doesn’t exactly help her course to the group by falling after a minute. Nene is wobbly knees but is holding on whilst Shinji is also in the same situation, but holding on.)
(Serena down: 58 seconds. Shot of Serena swimming back and goes to Misato.)
Misato: Well Serena, that was…pathetic.
Serena: Hey, I wasn’t made for balancing!
Misato: Well, here’s a consolation prize. (Hands her over a bar of chocolate and a soda.)
Serena: Ha! I was the real winner!
(Shot of the group who sweatdrop.)
Nene: Remind me to hate her.
Shinji: Been there, done that.
(Time elapsed, 1 hour.)
(The group are in the 90 degree heat in their swimming attire, only one has fallen. However, this game requires endurance as well as balance. Some of the group are certainly comfortable, and are annoying some of the others, as a shot of Chun-Li and Duo shows)
(Shot of Chun and Duo rocking slightly on the log, hoping to make someone fall off. However, no-one drops as Shinji and Nene are holding their own.)
Serena: This could take a while.
Misato: Got a pick?
Serena: Probably Tenchi. But I’m sure Gohan will go for it
all the way.
(Time elapsed. 1 hr 52 minutes. The first of the 8 is about to give up.)
Nene: I can’t handle this heat, guys, I’m sorry…
Akane: Hey, it’s O.K Nene.
Nene: It’s only a million quid for a drink with Misato, what’s a million quid?
(All laugh as Nene dives in, and doggy paddles to the shore. Nene: 1 hr 52 minutes.)
(Shot of Nene coming to shore.)
Misato: Well done Nene, grab yourself a drink, as you are 18 you can have a beer…but doing so is at your own risk.
Nene: Er…I’ll stick with the soda.
Misato: Good answer. (Shot of Nene grabbing a drink and sitting by Serena.)
(Time elapsed: 2 hrs.)
(Whilst most of the group is now well balanced, stamina and endurance, as well as hunger and thirst come into play now.)
Sakura: This is hard…(wipes sweat from her forehead)
Duo: Yeah, it’s like an oven out here…
Chun: Now that you mention it, it feels like a 1000 suns attacking us…
(Shot of Serena and Nene, talking.)
Nene: Who do you think we should go for?
Serena: I’d say Tenchi, but he’s probably going to win this. Maybe Duo or that wimp Shinji, no-one will miss him.
Nene: That’s a bit harsh.
Serena: It’s the truth.
(Times 2 hours 26 minutes.)
(With 2 ½ hours gone, what Serena says is more accurate sadly as Shinji can’t hold out any longer and simply dives into the water as the others clap him. He swims back. Shinji: 2 hours 26 minutes.)
Misato: Aw, Shinji-kun, you couldn’t hold out?
Shinji: Hey, part that, part thirsty, and part wanting to see you Misato.
Misato: Aw, how sweet.
Shinji: I didn’t finish. Wanting to see you Misato…drunk as a newt.
Misato: (growls) When did you develop this evil Shinji? You’ve been hanging around Serena too long!
Serena: Hey, I’m not evil!
(Shot of log group, 3 hours ready to go, 11.00 am the time now, and the remaining 7 are still going strong.)
(Time elapsed: 4 hrs.)
(Misato gets a crate of sodas, and ice creams, ready to tempt the group.)
Misato: I didn’t think I’d have to get these out already, but they look ready to last a good while.
(A shot of the group as they spot Misato)
Tenchi: What she doing?
(She opens the crate)
Gohan: Oh my god, that’s not fair!
Sakura: She’s brought out the ice cream!
Chun: All right!
(Chun dives into the water, then realises what she’s done.)
Chun: Aw, poo….feh. (Swims back at rapid speed and grabs a sundae. The remaining 6 look at her weirdly. Chun: 4 hours 1 minute.)
Duo: O.K.
Julia: No discipline, just rapid sugar hunger…
(On beach)
Misato: I’m surprised that you were the first to succumb, being a martial artist.
Chun: (mouth-full) What?
Misato: Never mind.
(Time elapsed, 5 hours….oh forget it, let’s fast forward a bit.)
(Time elapsed 6 hrs 17 minutes.)
Sakura: I tried, but it’s too hot, I just aren’t as strong as all you guys.
Tenchi: Sakura…
Sakura: I’m amazed I last this long, so I’ll just admit defeat now.
Akane: Good work Sakura-chan!
(All clap as Sakura becomes the fifth to jump. Sakura: 6 hrs 17 minutes.)
(on beach)
Sakura: Hey guys!
Misato: Here you go sweetheart. (Hands a sundae to her.)
Sakura: Thank you!
Nene: Who do you thinks strongest out there?
Sakura: Gohan I think needs to win…but I’m not sure if he will.
(Time 8 hrs 53 minutes.)
(A surprise person leaves now.)
Tenchi: I think I’ve had it.
Julia: Tenchi, you’re quitting?
Tenchi: No, just surrendering. I honestly think that there are people on here that need immunity way more than I do…see ya guys!
(All clap Tenchi as he dives in, Tenchi: 8 hrs 53 minutes)
(Shot of Tenchi going to Misato, only Sakura is there now.)
Tenchi: Hey, where are the others?
Sakura: They got bored and headed back to camp, want a drink?
Tenchi: Yes please!
Misato: Here you go, y’know, I’m surprised you jumped. How come?
Tenchi: I think Akane and Gohan need it way more than I do, and if I’m proved wrong tomorrow, you can all laugh at me.
Sakura: (giggles) Tenchi-kun, your silly.
(Time: 10 hrs, 11 mins. Misato is astounded at how long they are lasting. Finally, another one admits defeat.)
Duo: I’m not Heero, I need a break…besides, there’s still a few refreshments left, I save you guys one…maybe.
(All laugh as Duo takes a bow before diving in. Duo: 10 hrs 11 mins.)
Duo: Hey Tenchi, Sakura, Misato…where’s everyone else?
Misato: Headed back to camp. (Hands over one of the remaining sodas and sundaes.)
Duo: Thanks, now lets see who will win this duel.
Tenchi: The fact that Julia is one there shows how determined she is, she’s a nice person, our mother, but she is also very determined and competitive.
(Left on the log are Julia, Akane and Gohan. All three now move to the end of the log where they are begin to talk.)
Julia: I know how much you guys need this, but I’m going to stay on as long as possible because I think if I gave up now it would be disrespectable to you.
Akane: (smiles) Thank you Julia.
Gohan: Let’s see how well we can keep this up.
(Time elapsed now: 16 hrs.)
(The sun has gone down and the three remaining people on the log are STILL there. On the beach, Tenchi and Duo are still awake, whilst Sakura is asleep on Tenchi’s shoulder with a small cloth around her. Misato is nowhere to be seen.)
(Shot of the guys on the log, swapping stories to keep each other focused and staying on.)
Julia: We know how strong you are Gohan, but it’s impossible to hate you, you’re such a sweetie.
Gohan: Ah…well…er…
Akane: Ah, don’t mind him, he’s having problems on this island dealing with girls, right Gohan-kun?
Gohan: (deep red blush) If you’re trying to get me embarrassed so I can fall off…well, one out of two isn’t bad.
Akane/Julia: Aw darn.
(On the beach)
Duo: This is incredible.
Tenchi: Akane and Gohan obviously want this immunity, they know how important it is. I just feel that one of them will win…and the other one will leave us tomorrow…that is if they aren’t still on the log!
Duo: (quietly laughs not to wake Sakura, then looks thoughtful…) Well…
Tenchi: Huh?
Duo: There is another option that we could take…I’ve been thinking it over and what I saw today and what Shinji heard confirmed…
Tenchi: What?
(Meanwhile, back at camp, the 4 there, oblivious to what is happening back at the challenge is trying to rest.)
Serena: Heh, the camp is all ours for tonight!
Nene: I can’t believe they are still there…
(Shinji is on the hammock outside, but has a keen eye and ear out. Chun is asleep in the camp.)
Shinji: Serena is a bit of a double-agent. Me and Duo overheard what she was saying to Akane and Nene, and I guess Helang may see her as a possible lifeline. Trust me guys, she isn’t.
(Meanwhile, the contest at the beach isn’t holding up. All three have impressive stamina, and despite various things such as hunger, thirst and tiredness, none of them want to give up. However, one does at 19 hrs and 17 minutes.)
Julia: Guys, I think you two need to fight it out…without me.
Gohan: Julia…
Julia: No, I’ve proved my point, but I think it’s more fair that you two deal it.
Akane: Thank you Julia…
Julia: No problem. (Dives in, as the two clap: Time elapsed 19 hrs 17 minutes.)
Akane: So I guess it’s just you and me big boy.
Gohan: Oh golly…
(Julia swims back, and is shivering a bit. She spots the group of three at the tree. Someone has brought a big blanket around them. She smiles.)
Julia: (whispers) Tenchi…
Tenchi: Hmmm….yes….(looks up)…oh hi Julia. You gone?
Julia: Yeah, Akane and Gohan are still on though.
Tenchi: Still? Aw man….they do need it, but this is really stubborn.
Julia: Just shows the heart they have…
Tenchi: I think we should head back to camp if we can…Duo? (shakes him)
Duo: (groggily wakes up) Err…yeah?
Tenchi: We’re going back to camp. Gohan and Akane are still there so hopefully they’ll be alright.
Duo: Allright…er, I feel like a nightmare…
Julia: You look like one…(spots Sakura still asleep)…oh, Sakura-chan?
Tenchi: (Puts a hand on her shoulder) No, we won’t wake her. (Lifts Sakura up into his arms.) Let’s go.
(The group of 4 head back to camp. As they arrive…)
Shinji: (asleep but his eyes snap open, hearing something.) Huh…whaz at?
Tenchi: Shhh…Shinji, it’s just us.
Shinji: Tenchi? You’re back? Who won?
Tenchi: No-one. Akane and Gohan are still there…
Shinji: Your joking? (Looks and sees Julia, Duo and a sleeping Sakura in Tenchi’s arms.) That’s amazing.
Duo: Yeah, I think they need it desperately. I find it a shame thought to get one off…unless…
Julia: Unless?
Duo: (shakes his head) No. Too late. Need a bit more sleep before going into high powered plans. Let’s go.
(As the group prepare to go to sleep, the battle on the log continues.)
Gohan: I’m not going off until I cannot handle anymore. I need this.
Akane: Same here.
Gohan: I think it’s safe to say that whoever is gone from us two maybe gone from the tribe.
Akane: Well, not necessarily…
Gohan: Huh?
Akane: Well, (yawns) Serena is seen as a pest in their tribe, and may be willing to come to our side.
Gohan: Serena? Of all people I wouldn’t want her on my side.
Akane: True, but it may be our own hope.
Gohan: I wouldn’t trust her.
Akane: Probably true, but we need every bit of help we can get.
(Time, 4am. The first rays of sunshine are coming through and after 20 hrs, the two are still on the log.)
Time 5.40am. That was quick(!)
(The camp group are slowly waking up. As Nene flutters her eyes, she realises there are more people in the camp than there were last night.)
Nene: Huh? (sees Julia and Tenchi sleeping beside her.)
(Nene takes her surroundings in and sees Julia, Tenchi, Duo and Sakura all sleeping slightly. Her movement makes Tenchi stir though and he steadily wakes up, also stirring Julia.)
Tenchi: (yawns) Morning Nene.
Nene: Morning Tenchi…is it over?
Tenchi: (has a quick look around, then pops his head outside, sees Shinji sleeping, and his eyes open wide) This means that Gohan and Akane are still there…
Nene: (now wide awake) Akane and Gohan are still there? Whoa!
Julia: Yeah…they’re determined. Shall we get some breakfast done…
Tenchi: Yeah, let’s keep some warm for our two tightrope walkers as well.
(The three nod as Shinji also stirs and gets up.)
Shinji: I’m impressed by them. Very…
(On the log)
Akane/Gohan: (snapping their fingers) Always look on…the bright…side of life…
Misato: The time is now 6am. Akane Tendo and Gohan Son have been there an amazing 22 hrs, and I sure didn’t expect this. This is amazing.
(Back at camp)
Sakura: Thanks for bringing me back guys, you could have woken me y’know…
Duo: It’s O.K Sakura. Besides, do you think we should see how your teammates are doing?
Sakura: Sure, I’m not that hungry anyway.
Duo: Anyone else want to come?
(Tenchi and Julia put their hands up, as well as Chun. Nene, Serena and Shinji decline.)
Duo: O.K, let’s head back.
(The group start their own movement, and that allows Nene and Serena to talk…unnoticed?)
Serena: Now, I think we should go for Duo.
(Shot of Shinji, who the two have forgotten about, cleaning the food things, hears this and quickly hides into the opening of the jungle, very interested in this conversation.)
Nene: Duo why?
Serena: Physically, he is the strongest of our tribe, Tenchi we can get later…
Nene: I dunno. They’re both nice guys, what about Chun?
Serena: Do you expect Chun to win against Duo and Tenchi?
Nene: Well, she is a martial artist.
Serena: Whatever. I still say Duo.
Nene: O.K then, I’ll talk to Akane…when or if she comes back, and then we’ll talk to Sakura and Gohan.
Serena: Sure, this is going to be great!
(Shot of Shinji)
Shinji: Oh, you think so do you….

(The beach battle has lasted an incredible 23 hours and 10 minutes. Duo and company are there now, cheering them on since they got there. However, one of them is about to leave, very tearful…)
Gohan: I’m sorry Akane…I can’t move…
Akane: Huh?
Gohan: I can’t feel my feet, that’s a bad sign…even a super saiyan gets low on energy…
Akane: Gohan…
Gohan: I can’t continue…
Akane: Let’s jump together, I don’t want it to end like th…
Gohan: No. You said it yourself, whoever jumps first is gone. And I probably want you to remain the heart of this team. Sorry Akane-san, but I’m going. (tears in his eyes)
Akane: Gohan…(shakes his hand and hugs him, before Gohan jumps off. Gohan: 23 hours, 11 minutes.)
(On the beach, applause and shock is on the tribe)
Duo: Wow. I thought Gohan would win.
Sakura: Akane is very tough, she doesn’t like to lose.
Tenchi: I can see that….poor Gohan.
Duo: Er, well, you know guys…
Sakura: Hey Gohan-kun! (waves at him)
(Gohan gets onto the beach, struggling to move, but smiles as he walks up to Sakura and hugs her. Gohan seems breaking, and Ulah certainly notice this.)
Chun: Poor guy…I dunno if I can break him out now…
(Shot of Akane slowly getting off…but is so tired and her poor swimming means that she is stranded. The group sweatdrop, but fortunately Misato has thought ahead and brought a boat to her where Akane gets off and they get back to the beach.)
Misato: That was amazing Akane. How did you do it?
Akane: It was…the thought of my family and friend back home, the thought of not letting my tribe down, the thought of me wanting to win and not to lose…all of these things managed to show that I am as tough as anyone on this island, perhaps tougher.
Misato: Well, both you and Gohan deserve immunity, but it’s you who has got it. (Hands over immunity bracelet) Well done, and I think you deserve this.
(Hands her a serving of lobster and potatoes, and an ice-cream sundae. Akane is visibly drooling, but as she gets to shore, she smiles and shares it with Gohan. The group all applaud Akane as the two enjoy their meal, and as they finish, they help the two get back, where they are going to get a few hours sleep before tribal council later today.)
Akane: The thought of winning drove through my head, I needed to win that as much as Gohan did. We both knew that, and somehow I managed to edge him out.
Gohan: I feel…well, upset. Upset that I lost, but more that I’m probably as good as gone. I just hope that there is a back-up plan.
(Welcome to said back-up plan. Time 3.00pm. Akane is up, and Nene is talking to her. Also shot of Sakura with a sleeping Gohan in her lap)
Akane: Are you sure about this?
Nene: Not really, we just have to trust her.
Akane: Duo thought…I quite like him.
Nene: I do too, I like all the members on Helang, but…
Akane: (sigh) We need any chance if Helang is going to survive.
Nene: O.K, let’s do this.
(A shot of Nene going outside to look for Serena. However, a similar conversation is going on between two members of Ulah.)
Shinji: Duo and I have quite a good friendship, he had taken me under his wing now, and has made me not left out after my thoughts of loneliness. Now, it’s my turn to repay his favour.
Duo: No way!
Shinji: I heard everything.
Duo: That sneaky little b…
Shinji: I think I know where you’re going to go…
Duo: Damn straight!
Duo: When I heard that Serena was planning with Nene to bring Helang together to vote me off, I was furious. Well, actually, I kind of expected that from her. So, I knew that she was trying to fish, and as she returned, I let her have it.
Duo: I’ve heard about you going behind my back…
Serena: Huh? What?
Duo: Don’t play dumb, you are trying to get me voted off by getting Helang to vote with you right?
Serena: What are you talking about?
Duo: OH please…listen, I, along with most of Ulah have saved your butt time and time again…
Serena: Ha! You’ve voted against me in the past, and I bet after we took care of Helang, you were going to do the same!
Duo: Not necessarily, but thanks for pointing that idea out, I may just do that!
Serena: Oh yeah, Mr. Gundam pilot? You’re so big and tough, well let me tell you something, let’s go talk to them shall we?
Duo: If you want…
Serena: Hopefully, Nene and Akane will be faithful to me and try and trick Ulah into believing that I haven’t had contact.
Duo: I don’t think Serena even realises that Shinji was there when she was talking to Nene. This could play into a plan I had for back-up in case…
(Shot of Serena and Duo, talking with Nene and Akane.)
Duo: Is Serena conspiring against me?
Akane: I wouldn’t say that.
Serena: Nyah! See!
Nene: I would though. (both girls laugh as Duo smirks and Serena pouts.)
Serena: Huh…see, they are ganging up on me!
Duo: Hmmm…(has a think before smiling.)…very well Serena, I’m sorry.
Serena: That’s right, your….huh, you’re sorry?
Duo: Yep, (holds out his hand and Serena reluctantly shakes it.) I apologise.
(Shot of Nene and Akane looking on with interest. Meanwhile at camp, Shinji is talking with Tenchi, Julia and Chun, Sakura and Gohan are nowhere to be seen now.)
Shinji: He’s giving her a real belly-aching.
Chun: What’s the problem anyway?
Shinji: Serena was trying to get Helang to vote her way.
Julia: Huh?
Tenchi: What?
Shinji: She was trying to get them to vote against Duo.
Chun: WHAT?
Tenchi: Well, I’m not sure if I should act surprised or not.
(Unknown to them, Sakura and Gohan have just returned from a water run and just hurt Chun-Li’s ‘WHAT’ come out loud, and have decided to listen in.)
Tenchi: So, Serena is trying to turn traitor eh?
Julia: She’s still in Ulah, let’s try and see what she says eh?
(outside camp)
Gohan: This may just be a lifeline Sakura…
Sakura: What do you mean…
Gohan: I think I’m going to have a talk with Duo. Sakura, can you do me a favour?
Sakura: Of course…
Gohan: Keep an eye and an ear on Serena for me. I came this far and I don’t want to be just waiting to be voted off.
Sakura: Sure…
Gohan: It seems that Serena has had problems with Ulah in the past. This could be very interesting…

(Shot of Serena facing some members of Ulah, it’s 5pm.)
Serena: Listen, those girls are trying to get you guys against me? I’m still with you guys…
Tenchi: I’m not sure Serena. Can we hold you to that
promise?
Serena: Yes….
Julia: Yes what?
Serena: Yes, I promise.
(Shot of Sakura listening in from behind a tree.)
Sakura: Don’t make promises you can’t keep. (Heads off to talk to Akane and Nene who are working some laundry.)
(Meanwhile…)
Duo: Well…
Gohan: Look, I want to stay on as much as anyone does, and I’m not stupid. Until a few hours ago, I would have said I was gone. However…
Duo: (smiles) I think I know what you are going to say…
Gohan: It’s a longshot but…
Duo: I agree.
Gohan: Huh?
Duo: (whispers into Gohan’s ear. They both smile and shake hands.)
Gohan: Thanks man.
Duo: Trust me, I’m doing this not just for you, although I like you kid…I think this tribe will be a better place.
Duo: Trust me, I meant that.
(Sakura, Akane and Nene.)
Sakura: I don’t think you can trust her after what she said to Tenchi and Julia.
Nene: This is really starting to become hell in a handbasket.
Akane: Well, what’s the other option?
Sakura: (smiles) When Gohan-kun comes, we’ll find out.
(All three girls smile and cackle in mock evil laughter)

(Time 8pm.)
(The trek to Tribal Council, the first one for the merged tribe, is about to take place. Is Serena going to be with Ulah or Helang, or is another plan ready?)
(Shot of the group. Gohan hits the gong as gently as possible as he posts his torch, soon followed by the others. Misato greets them.)
Misato: Welcome Sekutu, for the first tribal council for the merged tribes. And at the eve of an unbelievable immunity challenge, Gohan how do you feel?
Gohan: Tired. (all giggle)
Misato: How come you gave up?
Gohan: I couldn’t feel my legs or my feet, it was a bad sign, and even a super saiyan can’t deal with cramps.
Misato: With possible tribal loyalties in place, do you feel threatened?
Gohan: (sighs) Yes, I feel that I’m in trouble tonight and I wished I hadn’t given up, but Akane deserved it more this day.
Misato: Thank you. Akane, you won the first immunity, however, does your performance alter how the former Ulah tribe may see you?
Akane: Yep. I think they probably saw me as a threat, but now, I am a deadly adversary to all who oppose me, and if they don’t recognise that, they’ll be eating hammer!
(Again, small laughter)
Misato: I hope you all heard that. Finally, Julia, you also lasted way over what was expected, and hopefully you are proud of that. Is there remaining ties with Ulah and is it going to be an all out assault tonight?
Julia: There will be an assault tonight, but I’m not going to say who on.
Misato: Interesting. Akane, you won immunity, so please vote first.
Akane: Yes ma’am!
(Shot of Akane voting. Don’t see her vote, but hear her comment.)
Akane: Sorry, but this needs to be done if we need to survive.
(Shot of Duo voting. ‘SERENA.’)
Duo: I actually was going to do this even before that little stunt you played on me. I just hope that others see through you.
(Shot of Tenchi, Julia and Sakura voting. Can’t see. Next is Serena, with ‘DUO’ on.)
Serena: Heh, I lied.
(Next up is Chun-Li. She writes ‘SERENA’ on.)
Chun: You tried to get Duo off, you are going to pay.
(Next up is Gohan. He votes, then Shinji and finally Nene. Again, only hear her comment.)
Nene: I wasn’t sure of you when I got her, now I’m positive. Got to go.
(Nene returns to her pedesal and Misato nods.)
Misato: O.K Nene, you were the last one to vote, I’ll go count the votes.)
(Misato gets the urn and looks through. She nods and looks at them.)
Misato: This will be the first person to be voted out of Sekutu tonight. Let’s see who it is.
(Misato draws the first parchment.)
Misato: Serena.
(Serena looks a bit stunned.)
Misato: Serena.
(Serena is now panicking.)
Misato: Serena.
(Serena looks around, scared.)
Misato: Duo.
(Duo nods.)
Misato: Serena.
(Serena is very panicky now.)
Misato: Serena…
(Serena is looking at every member of the tribe, and is starting to realise the inevitable.)
Misato: The next vote…Serena. The rest of the votes are irrelevent…but whoa, all 3 final votes are for Serena. Damn, that was a surprise.
(Serena’s mouth is wide open.)
Misato: Serena, can you please collect your torch please?
(Serena, very shakily gets up and collects her torch. Misato looks at her.)
Misato: Serena, as you know, fire represents your life on this island. Tonight, your life on this island has ended. Could you please extinguish your flame?
(Serena does so, very jittery.)
Misato: The tribe has spoken, you must leave us.
(Serena looks at them all, unable to say anything. She seems to wanting to have a go at them, but instead, angrily pouts and storms out.)
Misato: Well, I must say I’m surprised by that landslide, but it seems that there may be a bit of unity and hope for all of you. The first night of Sekutu and you’ve survived, please head back to your camp, and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Serena: I’m…shocked. My plan was fool-proof….but some fools screwed it up, and instead I’m gone.
(Tenchi’s vote: SERENA)
Tenchi: Ulah will still have an advantage without you Serena, but to be honest, you were going to go sooner or later, and I’d prefer it to be sooner.
Serena: Both tribes backstabbed me, which wasn’t supposed to happen!
(Julia: SERENA)
Julia: We like Helang, we like each other, but it has come to a point where you aren’t liked Serena, so despite the risk it may carry, you must go.
Serena: I couldn’t care less who won now, they all should get cut off viciously like that!
(Shinji: SERENA)
Shinji: Your ignorance was your downfall.
Serena: It’s NOT FAIR!
(Sakura: SERENA)
Sakura: I haven’t got to know Serena that well, but the fact that she seems so devious is warrant enough to vote for her.
Serena: IT’S NOT FAIR! WAAAAH!
(Gohan: SERENA)
Gohan: It seems that Ulah have a little problem in their tribe, and as a favour for saving my butt, I’m ready to exterminate it.
Serena: WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Misato: Serena when entering the island, didn’t seem at home, and suffered a couple of narrow escapes from eviction before. However, her deviousness in trying to vote off Duo Maxwell caused resentment in Ulah and mistrust in Helang, and in a landslide vote, Serena was voted off.

The way Serena was chucked off was reminiscent to how Meyer was eliminated in Boot Camp, trying to please both the guys and girls but in the end, it cost him in mistrust in a landslide vote. So I held off my landslide vote for Serena until the tribe.
It still means Helang are down 5 to 4 in people. Can they survive? Find out…well in a minute as hopefully you’re looking at the next chapter!
