This is Episode 8! The boys have already taken their first trip to the Digiworld. It’s now the girls’ turn. Just what awaits them? Read on to find out! Chelsea: We start doing more around the house than anyone expects us to do. Nikki: That’s easy for you to say. You can already cook. Rita: So we should basically help Sasami with the household chores and at the same time have as much fun as possible? Nikki: Wouldn’t that be the same as sucking up? Chelsea: Well yeah, but how else do you suppose we’ll get everyone else to trust us? Rita: You’ve got a point. Chelsea: It’s agreed then. We’ll start sucking up! Yolei: You know how you told me about those great battle costumes you make for Sakura? How about you make one of those for me? Madison: I don’t know. That’s an honor I usually reserve only for her. Yolei gets down on her knees and begins to beg. Yolei: Please! We’re best buds now, right? Madison: You could say that... Yolei: So you’ll do it? Yeah! Mimi: It’s important to remember that although you can’t always be close to your best friends all of the time, you can find ways to keep in touch with them. Casey: You can? Mimi: Sure! The next time you become friends with someone, get their home address, or their phone number, or even their e-mail address. Layla: (VO) Then, the girls take a dive! Sasami hesitates slightly. Kari notices this and starts offering her support. Kari: Sasami! Just relax! All you have to do is jump! Sasami: (VO) Easy for you to say. Yolei runs right off the platform and belly flops into the water, causing quite a splash. A few seconds later, Yolei makes her way to the edge of the pool. She gets out and then lies down on the floor, in a little pain. Madison: Casey! Casey looks at Madison, who is smiling at her from the poolside below. Madison: Remember to breathe! (she closes her eyes and moves her shoulders up and down several times) Do that and you’ll be fine! Layla: (VO) It was easier for some than it was for others... Rita: I’m so scared! I can’t do it! Violet: Are you sure? Rita: (screams) Yes! Get me down! Layla: (VO) In the end, one team came out on top... Daisy: In that case, I hereby award the winners of this physical challenge to be the green team by a score of 26 to 24! Giselle and her team celebrate happily while Misty’s team walks away in disappointment. Sakura: (CC) I feel like I’ve let the whole team down by not having the courage to make that final dive. Meilin: (CC) We totally ruled! If only I could see the look on Avalon’s face. Wait a minute... I can! Day Fifteen It is late in the morning. Sora and Mimi are hanging out in their bedroom. Sora is lying down on her bed, facing the ceiling, while Mimi is sitting on a chair. Mimi sighs as she glances out the window and sees the dismal darkness outside, as well as the drizzling rain showers that came with it. Mimi: (whines) Why did it have to rain today? I wanted to go out! Sora: I bet we can find a ton of things to do inside. Mimi: You mean sit on the couch and watch TV all day? As if. You’ll never see me do something like that. Sora: How about going on the computer? Don’t you want to chat with your friends in New York? Mimi: All of the computers are taken. I wish they had more than eight computers in this house. Sora: What about helping with the housework? Sasami and Chelsea could use some help, you know. Mimi: What do I look like? A maid? Sora: (groans) What else is there to do? Mimi’s eyes suddenly light up. Mimi: I have an idea! How about we play truth or dare? Sora: Truth or dare? No offense, but who wants to play that game. Duplica: (popping into the room) Ooh! I want to play! Sora: (crossing her arms over her chest) That’s three, but that’s still not enough people to play. Kari: (popping in next to Duplica) Truth or dare? That sounds like fun! Meilin: (popping in between the two of them) I love that game! Can I get in too? Mimi: (jumps out of her seat) Yeah! Sora: (sighs) Okay. Go see who else wants to play. We’ll meet in the living room in five minutes. Five minutes later, the aforementioned quintet, along with Giselle and Misty, are sitting in a circle on the floor in the recreation room. Meilin: So who goes first? Mimi: Since I thought of the idea, I should get to go first. Everyone reluctantly nods in agreement. Mimi: Okay. Misty, truth or dare? Misty: Truth. Mimi: Have you ever fantasized about sleeping with a guy? Misty: (blushes) Why did you have to ask me that? Duplica: Don’t lie, Misty! I know the truth! Giselle: Come on! Spit it out! Misty: Okay, I’ll admit it. There are a few... Meilin: (gasps in surprise) A few? Misty: I’ll just tell you one of my experiences. There’s this guy named Danny. He’s a gym leader on the Orange Islands. I loved when he complimented me on my beauty. If Ash and Brock weren’t there, I probably would have spent the whole day with him on that mountain. (blushes again) And then probably that night too... Sora and Mimi both gave out a loud whistle. Giselle was thoroughly enjoying this, smiling to herself. Duplica: What about Ash, huh? Misty: I’ve never fantasized about him. Duplica: (sarcastically) Yeah right. Misty: Really! Duplica: So, if you don’t want Ash, can I have him? (winks at Misty) I’m sure he wouldn’t mind. Misty: Duplica! Mimi: She likes him! I know he does! I can feel it! Meilin: Why don’t you just be strong and admit your feelings? You’re being such a sissy. Sora: Okay guys, we’ve prodded enough into Misty’s private life. Meilin: Sora. Shut up. Sora: Don’t you tell me to shut up! Kari: Sora, calm down. There’s no use in getting antsy over this. Mimi: Let’s just get back to the game. It’s your turn, Misty. Misty: Giselle! Giselle: Me? Misty: (smirks) Truth or dare? Giselle: Oh no! You’re not getting me to spill my guts! I choose dare! Misty: Let’s see... I dare you to shave your head! Giselle: (crying) Nooooooooooo! Anything but that! I need my beautiful hair! Misty: Then, do you want to try truth? Giselle: Yes! Please! Giselle wipes the tears from her face as Misty thinks of a good question to ask her. Misty: Okay. We all know that you have the best looking body in the house. We all know that you have a lot of guys around you all the time. So tell us the truth. Have you ever done a sexual favor for a boy while you were giving him a Pokémon lesson? Meilin: Ooh! I want to hear this one! Giselle: (nonchalantly) No. Misty: No what? Giselle: No, as in I’ve never done such a thing. Mimi: Are you serious? Misty: You’ve got to be lying! Giselle: I’m not! Seriously! Sora: You mean no one’s ever asked you? Giselle: Oh yeah, a few guys have asked. (winks) But none of them have gotten any closer than a brief touch on the leg. Kari: You go girl! Mimi: Amazing! You need to show me how to blow off boys like that. Giselle: That’s easy. Just show them that you’re an independent woman. That’ll keep all the boys away from you... except the ones you really like, that is. Mimi: I’ll try that. Thanks! Duplica: It’s your turn, Giselle! Pick someone! Giselle: Sora, truth or dare? Sora: (points to herself) Me? Okay, dare me. Giselle: I dare you to flash the camera, right now! A bunch of gasps can be heard from the other girls. Except for Misty, of course. Misty: (groans) I can’t believe you Giselle! Sora, you don’t have to do that. Giselle: What’s wrong with it? This is truth or dare! Oh wait! Are you jealous because you don’t have anything? Misty: (gritting her teeth) Don’t make me have to strangle you. Sora: It’s okay you two. I’ll do it. Giselle: You will? Sora turns to the camera. She lifts her shirt up, giving the cameraman and the world a peek at her small, yet still developing breasts (digitally covered up, of course). She only holds it for a second before she puts her shirt back down. Once again, the room fills with sounds of amazement. Kari gasps in disbelief. Giselle is going over to give Sora a high five. Misty is frozen in shock. So is Mimi, who was sitting next to Sora. Duplica had covered her eyes the whole time so she wouldn’t have to see it. And Meilin was impressed, yet frightened that someone might dare her to do something similar. Giselle: That’s what I’m talking about! Sora: (giving Giselle a high five) It was no big deal. Mimi: Sora! Out of everyone here, you were the last person I expected to do that! Kari: You mean you thought I would have done that without hesitation? Duplica: (with her eyes still covered) Can I uncover my eyes now? Meilin: (with a hint of fear in her voice) Yes. Giselle: I’ve got to hang out with you more often, Sora. Anyway, it’s your turn. Sora looks around the room at the others. She sees Duplica uncovering her eyes, but she decided to stay away from her for now. She instead set her gaze on Meilin, who was now noticeably shivering in fear. Sora: Meilin, truth or dare? Meilin: (shaking her own hands from side to side) Not me! Anyone but me! Misty: Relax. It’s only a game. Giselle: Unless you’re chicken! Meilin, hearing Giselle’s retort, stops shaking. She takes a deep breath and takes a couple of seconds to compose herself. She then turns to Sora and responds. Meilin: Truth. Sora: I want you to tell everyone in this room your opinion of Giselle. And you have to be honest! Everyone in the room looks at Meilin. Especially Giselle, who is especially focused on her. Meilin: You want to know the truth? Okay. Out of everyone in this entire mansion, she would be the absolute last person I’d want to be stranded on an island with. She is the most obnoxious, stuck up person I’ve ever met. I really don’t think anybody in the mansion really likes her. She’s also too serious about things. Maybe I didn’t mean to spray her so hard in the face with a water gun, but she never saw it as a joke until Madison cleared things up between us. My honest opinion? I don’t know what the norm is at Pockemon Tek or whatever it is that you go to school, but in the real world, you have to lighten up. You’re too uptight. If you had learned how to adjust to these new surroundings, then maybe you wouldn’t have run into all of those problems that you’ve faced the past two weeks. Meilin finally finishes her speech. Everyone then looks over at Giselle for a response. After a few seconds of silence, she gives the group one. Giselle: First of all, it’s Pokémon Tech. Second, I’m happy that you came out and told me what you didn’t like about me, rather than sugar coating it. And third, I’m sorry if that is what you think of me. I’m just Giselle. That’s the way I was raised and that’s the way I’ll live until I die. The group just looks at Giselle with the jaws hanging wide open. Meilin was about to retort back, but she decided not too. She wanted to keep her comments to herself. Giselle: Now, can we get on with this game? Misty: (slowly) Sure... As the game continued, we see Meilin challenging Mimi to a dare. All the while, she is thinking about what just transpired between Giselle and herself. Meilin: (CC) If that’s the way you’ll be Giselle, then I won’t change my opinion about you. Just don’t come crying to me at the end of this thing saying that you should’ve listened to me. All I’m going to say is that it‘s too late for that. (waving the camera goodbye) Goodbye! * * * * * * * * * * Night Fifteen Jun is in the kitchen, dialing somebody’s phone number. She puts the receiver up to her left ear as someone picks up on the other end. Jun: Mom? Dad? It’s me, Jun. Mrs. Motimiya: Jun? Hello honey! Mr. Motimiya: How are things over in Reedington? Jun: (sighs) Okay. Mrs. Motimiya: Is something wrong, dear? Jun: I’m just a little homesick, that’s all. Mr. Motimiya: Aren’t you getting along with the other girls? Jun: Sort of. Mr. Motimiya: And that’s supposed to mean what? Jun: No one around here ever pays attention to me! Mrs. Motimiya: Have you been nice to them? Jun: Of course mom! Mr. Motimiya: Have you tried talking to any of them about it? Jun: Not really. Mrs. Motimiya: Then do that first, dear. Friendships start with just a little conversation. Mr. Motimiya: Just find something that you and another girl have a common interest in. That’s a good place to start. Jun: Thanks guys. Mrs. Motimiya: We’re here to help. You can call us anytime. Mr. Motimiya: Yes, honey. We care about both you and Davis. We only want the best for you two. Mrs. Motimiya: Speaking of which, have you heard from Davis lately? He hasn’t called us since he left. Jun: No mom, I haven’t heard from him. Mrs. Motimiya: Okay. You be good now, okay? Mr. Motimiya: I hope you win it all. Jun: I hope so too, dad. I hope so too. Mrs. Motimiya: Bye Jun! Jun: Bye mom. Bye dad. I’ll talk to you later. With that, Jun hangs up the phone. She takes a seat at the kitchen table. She then lets out a heavy sigh. Jun: (CC) Just what am I doing wrong? Everyone around here has done something exciting. Everyone except me. Sometimes I think it was a mistake for me to come out here. No one cares about me. It probably would have been better off if there was another girl here in my place. Day Sixteen The following morning, the rain had finally stopped. But it was still rather dreary and overcast. Yolei, carrying a red umbrella with her, goes out to the mailbox and pulls a manila envelope out of it. This one, though, seems a little bulkier than usual. Curious, she decides to go ahead and open it there. Her eyes then light up in surprise as she pulls out her D-3 from inside. She screams happily as she runs back into the house. Yolei: We’re going to the Digiworld! We’re going to the Digiworld! Minutes later, the whole gang is gathered in the first floor recreation room. The videotape begins playing, with Miss McKenzie appearing on the screen. Layla: Good morning girls! As you can tell from the two D-3s you found in the information packet, today’s physical challenge takes place in the Digiworld. Here to explain the challenge are a few familiar faces. Guys... Miss McKenzie steps aside. Suddenly, Biyomon, Palmon, Gatomon, and Hawkmon all appear on the screen. Sora: Biyomon! Mimi: Palmon! Kari: Gatomon! Yeah! Yolei: It’s Hawkmon! Hurray! Biyomon: Long time no see guys! Palmon: For today’s challenge, you’d better put on your thinking caps! Gatomon: Kari and Yolei, you’ll lead the way today! Hawkmon: Let’s just see how well you’ve been getting along. Miss McKenzie steps back into the picture, with the four Digimon stepping into the background. Layla: You heard them. Come on down! Open up the Digi-port and make your way here to the Digiworld! I’ll see you soon! Biyomon, Palmon, Gatomon, and Hawkmon: (waving from the background) We’ll be waiting! The videotape then comes to an end. Yolei pulls Kari’s D-3 out of the envelope and hands it to her. Yolei then begins reading the challenge information packet. Yolei: (reading aloud) Physical challenge number 3 will require a trip to the Digital World. Use the D-3s to open a portal to it. Make sure not to lose your brains along the way, because you’ll need them for the challenge. Kari is the captain of the pink team and Yolei, that’s me, will be captain of the purple team. You have twenty minutes to select teams. Good luck and we’ll be waiting for you there. [The team assignments (picked in random order): Pink - Kari, Rita, Duplica, Misty, Nikki, Jun, Sasami, and Sora Purple - Yolei, Sakura, Giselle, Meilin, Madison, Chelsea, Mimi, and Casey] Mimi: Yeah! I’m going to get to see Palmon again! Yolei: I wonder how much Poromon has missed me. Oops, I meant Hawkmon. They’re both so cool! Sora: If everyone’s ready, let’s head over to the computers. Sakura: (raising her hand) I have a question. How do we get to the Digital World? Meilin: Weren’t you listening, dum dum? They’re going to use the D-3s to open a portal. Chelsea: If we’re opening a portal, can’t we just do it here? Why do we have to go over to the computers? Kari: You see Chelsea, the Digital World is kind of like another dimension of the Internet. It’s not accessible without a computer and a D-3. In other words... Mimi: Don’t try to fly there, ‘cause you’ll never get there! Sora: There are other ways to get in other than through a computer screen. They’re just a little harder to access, that’s all. Giselle looks at the Digidestined strangely. Suddenly, she starts yelling at the top of her lungs. Giselle: Will someone please explain what the heck they are talking about? Misty: The Pokémon Tech student doesn’t understand? I thought you knew everything! Giselle: Just about Pokémon! I’m not a genius, you know. The girls make their way over to the computers. Kari’s team huddles around one, while Yolei’s does the same on the opposite side. Kari then says the magic words. Kari: Digi-port open! She aims her D-3 towards the computer screen. Kari and her team are then suddenly sucked into the computer itself. As Yolei prepares to aim her D-3 at her screen, Chelsea suddenly screams. Yolei: Chelsea! Sakura: What’s wrong? Chelsea: (excitedly) How did they do that? That was so amazing! Madison: I have to admit that I’m rather intrigued myself. Giselle: I’m not. Mimi: Giselle, you’re never curious about anything. Yolei smiles and turns back towards the computer screen. Yolei: Hold on tight, because we’re going in! (holding her D-3 up to the screen again) Digi-port open! Yolei and her team are then sucked into the computer. Just seconds later, they find themselves in the Digiworld. The other team is waiting for them. Duplica: Wow! Nikki: This is so amazing! It’s like we’re living in a fairy tale! Misty: I’ve heard so much about this place. But never did I imagine it to be like this! Sora: (walking up next to Misty) Takes your breath away, doesn’t it? Misty: I suppose it does. Sakura turns to her right and sees a Digimon on fire sliding down a nearby mountain. Sakura: What’s that thing? That kind of looks like a Clow Card! Madison: Really? Meilin: A Clow Card? Here? Where? I want to capture it! Mimi: I think I recognize that figure. But he’s not a Clow Card. Kari: What are you guys looking at? Mimi: Infinity Mountain. There’s something coming down it, but we can’t really tell from here. Sora and Yolei come over to look, but by that time, the figure disappears from sight. Yolei: I don’t see anything. Sakura: It was there! Meilin: I saw it too! I know it was there! Sora: Well, if there was something there, it’s not there anymore. Miss McKenzie then appears out of the brush. She beckons for them to follow her to a nearby clearing. Once there, the girls see two trailers set up, side by side. Biyomon, Palmon, Gatomon, and Hawkmon all come out of one of them. Upon spotting their Digimon, Sora, Mimi, Kari, and Yolei run over to them. Biyomon: (jumping up into Sora’s outstretched arms) Sora! I missed you! Sora: (catching Biyomon and giving her a hug) I missed you too. Mimi: Palmon! Palmon: Mimi! Mimi grabs Palmon and the two of them begin to spin around and around and around. Mimi: I’m so glad to see you! Palmon: I’m glad too, but can you stop spinning? I’m getting dizzy! Kari kneels down on the ground and hugs Gatomon as she reaches her. Kari: Gatomon! Gatomon: Kari! Kari puts Gatomon down and pats her on the head. Kari: I haven’t seen you in awhile. How are you? Gatomon: I could use some catnip. Do you have any? Yolei and Hawkmon also share a hug as they meet. Yolei: Hawkmon! It’s feels like it’s been forever since when we were last together. Hawkmon: I know. You’ve been keeping out of trouble, right? Yolei puts Hawkmon down. She then begins to ruffle the feathers on his head. Yolei: Oh, you know me. The rest of the girls smile as they look on. Miss McKenzie then interrupts the reunion. Layla: We have a lot to do today, so let’s get started. Sora, Mimi, Kari, and Yolei go over and join their respective teams. The Digimon take their place beside Miss McKenzie. Layla: You’re going to have a little trivia contest. You will be competing against your own teammates. Then the top player from each team will face off in the final round. At the end of the contest, the team that has the most points will win the challenge and the hundred thousand dollars that go with it. Sasami: (CC) That totally surprised me. I didn’t see that coming. Layla: As Hawkmon mentioned on the video, we’re going to figure out how much you know about each other. The questions will all be about yourselves. To help me out in proctoring the contest will be the four Digimon here and our special guest. Miss McKenzie points to a spot between the two trailers. Yolei jumps up and down as she recognizes the mysterious figure that is approaching them. Yolei: Wow! It’s Gennai! Sora: Gennai? Mimi: Yeah! Madison: Who’s Gennai? Gennai: Why, I am. I was the spiritual guide, so to speak, for the Digidestined when they were first here three years ago. Nikki: (CC) This is where all of that listening to other people’s conversations comes in handy. I’m ready to find out how much I truly know about everyone. Layla: (points to the trailer on her left) Kari, your team will be in that trailer. Hawkmon, Biyomon, and myself will be proctoring the preliminary rounds in there. (points to the trailer on the left) Yolei, your team will be in that one. Palmon, Gatomon, and Gennai will be quizzing your team. Let’s get started, shall we? The teams and judges make their way to their respective trailers. Madison: (CC) Now we’ll see who can be dubbed the friendliest girl of the bunch! The two trailer doors close. The contest has begun. * * * * * * * * * * [Round One - Background Knowledge] Biyomon: (VO) In round one, the girls will have to answer a series of questions about their fellow roomies. Basic stuff, like where they’re from, who they hang out with, and other stuff like that. The top four scores for each team will be tallied for use in the final round. Those girls will then move on the second round. Layla: You each have four boards in front of you, labeled ‘A,’ ‘B,’ ‘C,’ and ‘D.’ Once I finish reading each question, you will have five seconds to answer. Gennai: Raise the board of the answer of your choice. You get one point for a correct answer, but no points if you fail to answer correctly or if you don’t answer at all. Layla: There are ten questions in this round. Gennai: All of the questions will be about the girls on the other team. With Kari’s team (Miss McKenzie is reading the questions)... Question 1: Which one of these girls was not born here in Reedington? A. Sakura B. Chelsea C. Meilin D. Madison Jun holds up ‘A,’ Misty, Rita, Nikki, Sasami, and Kari hold up ‘C,’ and Sora and Duplica hold up ‘D.’ Layla: The correct answer is Meilin, choice ‘C.’ She was born in Hong Kong. Pluto Most of the girls look at each other as if they didn’t know. Yolei and Mimi both hold up ‘A,’ Sakura, Giselle, and Madison hold up ‘B,’ Meilin and Casey hold up ‘C,’ and Chelsea holds up ‘D.’ Gennai: Yolei and Mimi are correct, the answer is A, planet Jurai. Some time passes... let’s check back in on Kari’s team... Question 4: Who is Palmon’s Digidestined partner? A. Yolei B. Giselle C. Chelsea D. Mimi Everyone in the room holds up ‘D.’ Layla: Palmon, is everyone right? Palmon: Yes, they are! Mimi’s my Digidestined partner. A little more time goes by... let’s see how Yolei’s team is doing... Question 8: Which of the following girls currently does not have any parents? A. Duplica B. Misty C. Rita D. Sora Mimi: (whining) How come we’re getting all of the hard questions? Madison: Guessed what? Which one? Sakura: It’s either Duplica or Misty. I’m not sure. Yolei holds up ‘A,’ Sakura, Meilin, Madison, Chelsea, and Casey hold up ‘B,’ and Giselle and Mimi hold up ‘C.’ Gennai: The correct answer is A, Duplica. Mimi: This is so hard! Giselle: Shut up girl! I’m trying to concentrate! At the end of the first round... Question 10: Only two girls on the other team have been on the winning side in the two previous physical challenges. Who are they? A. Finally, Misty and Sasami hold up ‘A,’ Rita and Nikki hold up ‘B,’ Duplica and Sora hold up ‘C,’ and Kari and Jun hold up ‘D.’ Layla: Jun and Nikki, I’d think you would remember this since you two were on their team. Sora and Duplica surely remembered... the answer’s C, Giselle and Madison. In the other trailer... Misty and Sora Madison holds up ‘A,’ Mimi and Casey hold up ‘C,’ and Yolei, Sakura, Giselle, Meilin, and Chelsea all hold up ‘D.’ Gennai: Sakura, is it? Sakura: Yes? Gennai: What’s your answer again? Sakura: (pointing to the board) It’s D. Gennai: What makes you think that’s the right answer? Sakura: Because only Misty and Sora finished the bike race competition with me, I chose D because it is the only choice that has either of them in it. Gennai: Well, you are correct, my dear. The answer is D for that very reason. [Round One Results: Pink Team (29) - Nikki (8), Sora (7), Misty (7), Sasami (7), Kari (6), Rita (4), Duplica (4), Jun (4) Purple Team (25) - Yolei (9), Chelsea (6), Sakura (5), Giselle (5), Mimi (4), Meilin (4), Madison (3), Casey (2)] The girls who did not place in the top four on their team are ushered out of the trailer, while the others prepare for the second round. [Round Two - Show Association] Palmon: (VO) In the second round, the remaining team members now have to associate specific items and events with the show it is from. There are fifteen questions. In this round, ‘A’ represents Pokémon, ‘B’ represents Digimon, ‘C’ represents Tenchi, and ‘D’ represents Cardcaptors. Top two scorers on each team move on and their scores are added to the team total from round one. In this round, both teams will be shown the same set of items. For some fun, the answers aren’t given so you at home can play along, as well as keep track of everyone. Pink Team - Question 11: A picture of the back of a Clow Card appears on the screen. Nikki, Sasami, Misty, and Sora all answer ‘D.’ Purple Team - Question 13: Gennai holds up a Pokéball and shows it to the girls. Giselle quickly answers ‘A.’ Yolei, Sakura, and Chelsea all eventually follow suit and raise ‘A’ as well. Pink Team - Question 16: A picture of a globe projected on to an ancient wall. (It’s in the Digiworld, but the girls aren’t told this.) After hesitating, Nikki and Sora answer ‘B’ while Misty and Sasami answer ‘C.’ Purple Team - Question 20: A real life teddy bear appears on the screen, walking in the middle of a forest. Chelsea answers ‘D’ rather quickly. Sakura, believing that her friend is right, also raises ‘D.’ Meanwhile, Yolei puts up ‘A’ and Giselle puts up ‘B.’ Pink Team - Question 23: A magical staff, heart shaped at one end and flat on the other end, is shown on the screen. Once again, the group hesitates to answer. Misty answers ‘B,’ Sasami answers ‘C,’ and Nikki and Sora answer ‘D.’ Purple Team - Question 24: A picture of Tokyo Tower at night, in someone’s dream. Yolei and Giselle both answer ‘B.’ Sakura slowly raises ‘D’ up. Chelsea can’t decide between the two and as result, fails to answer the question in time. Layla: That ends round two. What a tough round that was. I could see some of you really thinking out there. [Round Two Results: Pink Team (24) - Sasami (12), Nikki (12), Misty (8), Sora (7) - Team Total (53) Purple Team (24) - Yolei (13), Chelsea (11), Sakura (10), Giselle (7) - Team Total (49)] Misty, Sora, Sakura, and Giselle go out and join the rest of the gang outside. Madison: I really thought you were going to make it to the final round. Sakura: I thought so too... until I missed three in a row. Misty: That contest’s rigged somehow, I just know it. Sora: I don’t think so. Besides, wouldn’t that be something Giselle might say? Giselle: (walking past them) I don’t want to talk about it. [Round Three - What Would You Do?] Gatomon: (VO) For this round, we’re switching gears. We’ll give the remaining contestants five questions based on real life situations. Of course, they revolve around the four shows. Each of the answers awards a certain number of points. The most correct answer will be worth ten points, followed five, three, and then zero for the worst. The top scorer in the round for each team advances to the finals. Once again, you at home can play along! Try and guess the correct answer. Question 26: You’re walking along when all of a sudden you come across an injured Charmander. You... A. Leave it be B. Capture it in a Pokéball and keep it for yourself C. Run because you think the Charmander is dangerous D. Take it to the nearest Pokémon Center to be healed by Nurse Joy Question 27: Walking along with your rookie level Digimon, you are suddenly confronted by an evil Digimon named Etemon. Don’t digivolve at all, run away Question 28: You suddenly get into an argument with another girl who loves the same boy as you do. Which method would you use to get rid of your competition? A. Attempt to beat the other girl in a swimsuit competition Question 29: A young boy from another country comes to you telling you that he is the direct descendant of Clow Reed and that he wants you to relinquish the Clow Cards you have already captured to him. Can I ask you two a question? Yolei and Chelsea: Yeah. Gennai: If you two were competing for the affections of the same boy, you’d settle your differences by seeing who could get in bed with him first? Yolei: (blushes) Isn’t that the best way? Chelsea: I’d do it if it’s a guy I really like. Gennai: (sweatdrops) I hope you two aren’t thinking of fighting over me. [Round Three Results: Pink Team (45) - Sasami (45), Nikki (20) - Team Total (98) Purple Team (40) - Yolei (40), Chelsea (23) - Team Total (89)] [Final Round - Magic Numbers] Outside, Casey and Jun were in the middle of a conversation. Jun: You watch too much TV. Casey: What do you mean? Jun: The smartest person doesn’t always win these trivia games. Yolei and Nikki may be in there, but Sasami and Chelsea are too. They aren’t exactly the brightest bulbs here, you know. Finally, the four remaining contestants, the four Digimon, Miss McKenzie, and Gennai all get out of their trailers. Layla: We’re now ready to move on to the final round. Sasami will represent the pink team, while Yolei represents the purple team. The team scores so far are 98 to 89, in favor of the pink team. Screams of excitement ring from Kari and her team, while Yolei’s team moans because they’re behind. Layla: Sasami and Yolei, we’re going to give you some notebooks. You’ll be writing the answers to the final questions on this piece of paper. Hawkmon, do the honors please. Hawkmon: (VO) This is the final round. The remaining contestant from each team will compete here. The final five questions have number answers. Once again, point scores vary by how close they are to the correct answer. Ten points if they are right on the dot, five if they are off by one either way, three if the difference is two either way, and one if its three either way. Any further out and they get no points for that question. The fifth and final question is worth double points. The scores will be added to the team scores so far. The team with the highest final score wins the challenge! Layla: I will not be giving out the answers to you two. Gennai and the Digimon will be keeping track of your progress, though. I wish you both good luck. These questions are all about the five shows. Let’s begin the final round. Hawkmon: (VO) Once again, you at home can play along! Try and guess the correct answer! Question 31: Give the number of Pokémon that are purely fighting types. Question 32: In “Last Temptation of the Digidestined,” how many different Digimon were present in the fight? Question 33: How many accomplices did Princess Ayeka have when she was wrongfully accused of treason? Question 34: At what hour of the day can the Time card rewind time a complete day? Question 35: How many of the 16 girls here has a sibling competing in the boys’ edition of this show? (x2 pts.) [Here are the responses to the questions as given by the two finalists: Sasami (Pink Team) - 5, 6, 8, 12, 2 Yolei (Purple Team) - 10, 18, 7, 12, 4] After tabulating the results and confirming them with Gennai and the Digimon, Miss McKenzie announces the final results. Layla: Out of a possible 60 points in the final round, Sasami scored 28. Yolei outdid her though, scoring 34 points. Yolei and her team begin jumping up and down over her victory. Sasami forces a smile, but she’s still happy for her performance. Layla: In the overall results, the final score was 126 to 123. Very close, but I am happy to report that the winners of this physical challenge are the pink team! Now Kari, Sasami, and the rest of the team are the ones who are happy. They go over to hug Sasami. Yolei goes over to her team and they too congratulate Kari and her team. Yolei: (CC) Hey, I have to be happy for my team. We only missed it by a few points. Points I probably could have picked up in the final round, but given the situation, I did the best I could. That’s all that matters. For once, both teams were happy over the outcome despite the close score. They all share a congratulatory shake. The girls, Miss McKenzie, Gennai, and the Digimon decide to spend the rest of the day together by hanging out in the Digiworld. They were all just happy that the contest was over and that they could relax. End Episode Eight Layla: (VO) Next time... Sora: Heads up! Sasami kicks the ball into the air. It heads downfield and lands right on Chelsea’s head, who was looking the other way and wasn’t expecting it. Chelsea twirls around in confusion before finally fainting on the ground. Chelsea: Ouch... Nikki: It kind of reminds me how Sakura looks like when she forgets to catch her baton. Sakura: (sweatdrops) You don’t have to tell everyone that, you know. Layla: (VO) Playing a game just to get a game sounds kinda silly, but that’s what we’re doing... Casey: Wouldn’t just playing a soccer video game be safer than this? Misty: Are you afraid to sweat even a little bit? Giselle: Do you know what sweat does to a girl’s complexion? Mimi: That’s my line! Layla: (VO) Then, what will happen when Chelsea and Sasami are whisked off on a surprise vacation... Chelsea: I wonder how everyone else is doing. Sasami: I’m sure they’re fine without us. Back at the mansion in Reedington... Meilin: If Li was here, he could cook up some Seafood Noodle Soup. Sakura: Well, he’s not Meilin, so help me cook this giant chicken!
