After a week’s hiatus, the Roomies series returns for the second half! When we last left off, the girls... well, four of them anyway, were forced on to a blind date with four guys! Poor Sakura, Mimi, Giselle, and Sora. Or are they lucky just to get out of the house for one night? The challenge will be spread out over the first two segments of this installment of the girls’ edition and the first two segments of the guys’ edition, give or take. Make sure to read all of them to find out what happens! Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters competing in this reality fanfic. * * * * * * * * * * Layla: (VO) Last time, on Roomies, the girls’ edition... Sakura: I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what’s going on Madison? Madison: Well, you see, um... Yolei: Madison was about to make me a costume just like this one! It looks so cool! I was about to ask her how she found the time to construct something like this! Layla: (VO) A rift was beginning to form between Sakura and Madison... Sakura: Madison, what are you doing? Madison: I’d say you’d still be able to fit into this, no problem! Sakura: (beginning to walk out) It’s me or her, Madison! You either stop this now or I’m walking! Madison: Sakura! You can’t be serious! Sakura: You don’t think I’m serious? Watch me! Layla: (VO) Meanwhile, Chelsea and Sasami were returning from their trip to Pallet Town... Sasami: You mean you actually did that? Chelsea: (smiles) Yep. You should have seen the looks on their faces! Sasami: I can just imagine. Layla: (VO) In order to lead the girls into their fourth physical challenge... Chelsea: You’re so lucky. You’re such a better cook than I am. Sasami: I’m sure your team will have enough to make it a challenge! Besides, you never know unless you try. Layla: (VO) That brings in some special guests... Sasami turns away from her task at hand and looks out the window. Indeed, Ayeka is out there, along with Ryoko, Washu, Mihoshi, and Kiyone. She runs out of the kitchen excitedly to say hello to them. Layla: (VO) And don’t forget... The sixteen boys from the Pallet Town mansion enter the room, led by Professor Oak and Tracey. Meilin: Li! Yolei: Ken! Jun: Matt! Nikki: (rolling her eyes) Oh brother... Layla: (VO) And if that wasn’t enough, how about this? Oak: They selected you four as their dates for tonight. Sora: Us? Sakura: A blind date? You’ve got to be kidding me! Giselle: (in disbelief) I don’t believe you! Mimi: But why? Layla: (VO) So now that you’ve caught up, let’s check out what happens next... * * * * * * * * * * Sixteen young girls Four different anime shows Forty-two days living alone in a mansion One lucky soul walks away with up to one million dollars in cash (Begin theme song, showing each of the contestants, two at a time via split screen) Casey, getting on a bike for the first time, with Zachary helping Chelsea, smiling after beating Nikki and Rita at ‘Super Smash Brothers’ Duplica, telling Giselle about the water gun fight Giselle, talking to an out of breath Misty after she had completed the first prize challenge Jun, talking to her parents on the phone Kari, struggling to resolve the conflict between Misty and Sora Madison, giving Yolei the Digiworld costume she recreated Meilin, trying to scare Sakura just before they go for their final dive Mimi, whining that she didn’t get a chance to play the virtual laser tag game at the mall Misty, commenting to herself to make sure she doesn’t have any relatives in Hong Kong Nikki, telling about Madison’s knack for designing clothes for fun Rita, noting how easily she’s gotten alone with her roommate, Sasami Sakura, celebrating after winning the bicycle race prize challenge Sasami, complaining that she’s doing all of the work around the house Sora, comforting Misty after she got yelled at by Misty Yolei, happily hugging her Digimon, Hawkmon Some of these girls will form long lasting friendships Others will develop intense rivalries But only one will walk out with up to a million dollars in cash and prizes These girls are... roomies! There, they find Chelsea talking with Richie. Chelsea: So, who’s it going to be? Chelsea watches as he points to Sakura. Sakura then points at herself. Sakura: Me? Richie: Yep. You. You are Sakura, right? Mimi: (bubbly) Yeah, she’s Sakura alright! Giselle: Thank goodness for that. Sakura: (sarcastically) Thanks a lot, you two. Sakura steps forward towards Richie’s outstretched hand. He takes hold of her hand, kisses it, and then kneels beside her. Richie: Miss Avalon, it is my pleasure to be one of your four dates tonight. Sakura: (VO) Wow, he’s really serious about this. I’d better play along. Richie: Miss Avalon, may I escort you out to the others? Sakura: (smiles) Sure. And you don’t have to call me Miss Avalon. Just call me Sakura. Richie: (getting up) Of course, Sakura. Sakura waves goodbye to the others as Richie leads her out. As they leave, though, Chelsea whispers something into Sakura’s ear. Chelsea: (whispering) You are so lucky. Sakura glances at her friend curiously. She had no idea what that phrase meant and what it had to do with her and Richie. Chelsea closes the door as Richie and Sakura walk down towards the gate, where the rest of Richie’s team is waiting for them. At the gate, Richie, Cody, Davis, Ash, and Sakura meet Tori, Joe, Tai, and Matt at the front gate. Tori: Hey! That’s my sister! Sakura: Tori? Davis: Don’t sweat it, man. We’ll take good care of her. Sakura: Tori, I’ll be fine! Tori: I’ll be watching you! Ash: We’ll bring your sister back in one piece. Don’t worry about it! With that, the two groups separate. Tori’s group makes their way up to the house. They knock on the door. Once again, Chelsea answers it. Chelsea: Hi! Tori: Hello Chelsea. Chelsea: (disappointedly) Oh. You didn’t... Tori: Don’t worry, she doesn’t know. Chelsea: I see. Tai: We’re here to get Mimi. Chelsea: (yelling back in to the mansion) Mimi, your dates are here! Mimi comes out. The group gasps at how she looks. Matt: Mimi? Tai: Mimi? Joe: That’s Mimi? Tori: Wow. She’s pretty. Mimi: Why thank you. Shall we go? The group heads down the driveway with Mimi in tow. A few minutes later, Tenchi, Izzy, Brock, and Li head up the driveway and towards the mansion. Ringing the doorbell, it is opened by Chelsea yet again. Chelsea: Okay guys, which is it? Giselle or Sora? Brock: (jumps back in fear) Giselle? Tenchi: What’s wrong with Giselle? Brock: I’ll tell you later. Li: We’re here for Sora. Sora: (moving Chelsea aside) I see. Izzy: (waves to her) Hey Sora! How have you been? Sora: I’m fine. Let’s just get this over with. Sora walks down the driveway. The guys all shrug their shoulders and follow her. Finally, TK, Tracey, Gary, and Ken arrive at the mansion. Gary rings the doorbell. But this time, Giselle answers it personally. Gary: Giselle, I presume? Giselle: You’re late! Don’t you know how much I hate waiting? Gary: Give us a break! We’re only half an hour later! Giselle: And that’s half an hour you four just lost on your date! Giselle closes the door behind her and walks past the guys. Layla: (VO) And there goes the last of the girls, on their way downtown for a blind date. But now it’s time to backtrack a little. Just what do the boys have to do to win this challenge, besides keeping their dates happy? Check this out and see what I mean... Exactly one hour ago... Sora, Mimi, Giselle, and Sakura are gathered in the living room. They each have the envelopes that were handed to them earlier in the night. Sora: So, what do you say girls? Should we open them now? Giselle: Yeah. I’ll feel more comfortable if I know what’s going to happen. Sakura: (ripping her envelope open) Let’s see... Mimi: (already reading the piece of paper inside) During the course of your blind date tonight, the boys will be required to complete three tasks. They have no idea what these tasks are. Each task is worth twenty-five points. Although you may suggest to them what the tasks are, you may not tell them directly. If you do, the team forfeits their points for that task. Also, all tasks must be complete by eleven o’clock, or they do not count. Good luck and remember to have fun tonight. Sora: My team has to buy me a comb, kiss me on the cheek, and tell me something about my past. Weird. Giselle: Mine has to get me a hair dryer, kiss me on the hand, and comment on how nice my clothing is. Sakura: Mine has to buy me a hair band, kiss me on the foot, and comment on how good I look. Eeeewwww, I have to get them to kiss my feet? Mimi: That’s gross! Sora: What do you have, Mimi? Mimi: They have to buy a bow for my hair, kiss me on the lips, and tell me how good my legs look. Giselle: (crossing her hands over her chest) See. Mimi gets all the easy ones. Sora: You mean you wouldn’t mind getting kissed by a total stranger? Giselle: Oh. I guess I forgot about that part. (to Mimi) You can keep it. Sakura: It’s totally our choice if the team succeeds, right? Sora: Yes, I think so. Giselle: (sighs) I guess we’d better get ready. The four girls put their papers away and head upstairs. Back to the present... Tai, Matt, Joe, Tori, and Mimi are walking along the busy night streets of downtown Tokyo. They are enjoying the sights and sounds of the nearby night clubs, beeping horns, bright lights, and yappy pedestrians. Mimi included... Mimi: Anyway, there’s got to be some place we can hang out. How about Tokyo Tower? Or that new place called the Pokémon Center? Say, since we’re in the Reedington district, how about that shop called Twin Bells? I’ve always wanted to go there! I’ve heard they’ve got the cutest plush animals in town! Chelsea told me all about the place. I’ve been meaning to visit, but with all of these challenges and things like that, I’ve never had the time. I can’t believe I’m finally getting to go there! It’s so amazing! You want to know how amazing it is? Let me count the ways! Let’s see, there’s... Matt and Tai were traveling a few feet behind the others. They were talking with each other. Matt: This is nice, isn’t it? Tai: This is kind of a relief. Now if only Mimi would just shut up. Meanwhile, Giselle was trying to make the best of her date. She was still busy deciding whether or not to help her team or not. All of a sudden, Tracey catches up with Giselle and taps her on the shoulder. She stops in her tracks and turns around to face him. Giselle: What do you want? Tracey: You know, I’m sorry that we got off on the wrong foot. Let’s start again. (sticks out his hand) I’m Tracey Sketchit. A pleasure to meet you. Giselle: (sighs) Oh, alright. (sticks her hand out as well) I’m Giselle Gravelpot. Tracey: (shaking hands with her) Pleased to meet you. Giselle pulls her hand away from Tracey. Tracey: See? That wasn’t too bad, was it? Giselle: I understand that you’re trying to be friendly and all, but if you dare make one move at me, I’ll shove my high heels up your ass! Got it? Tracey: (jumping back in fear) Yes ma’am. No flirting. I got it. Giselle turns away and starts walking off again. In another part of the city, Ash, Richie, Cody, and Davis are following Sakura into the business district. They walk by a nearby convenience store. Sakura: Hey, I just remembered! I was supposed to buy a hair band for Madison! (reaches into her shirt pocket) But I don’t have any money. Davis: So? Just get it later! Ash: Yeah! You’ll have time to get it later! Sakura: (pleading) Please? Richie: I don’t know... Cody: What’s wrong with you guys? This is important to her! (pulls out a few dollar bills from his pocket) I’ll take care of it. Sakura: (smiles and goes over to hug Cody) Thank you! Madison will be so happy! Ash, Richie, and Davis gasp in surprise. Sakura lets go of Cody. He smiles as he trots into the store and comes out a few minutes later with three hair bands. He hands them to Sakura. Sakura: Thanks Cody! Cody: You’re welcome! Sakura grabs Cody’s hand and leads him down the street. Ash, Richie, and Davis are still shocked over what they’ve just witnessed. * * * * * * * * * * In yet another part of the city, Tenchi, Brock, Li, Izzy, and Sora are heading towards King Penguin Park. The boys are all watching Sora very closely... especially Brock. He hasn’t been able to take his eyes off of her since they picked her up from the mansion. Li: Why are we going to King Penguin Park anyway? Tenchi: Well, I thought that it would be romantic to have a little picnic under the stars. Sora: I love the idea! Let’s do it! Tenchi: Okay then. I think we’ll set up... Brock: (interrupting) On the hill. I think it looks lovely up on the hill. Wouldn’t you agree? Sora: (not interested in Brock) I guess. Tenchi leads the way into the park, followed by Sora, Brock, Izzy, and Li. Back with Giselle and her suitors... Giselle: (CC) You know, maybe I’ve been a little cruel. I should give these suckers a chance to win this little challenge of theirs. Besides, it’ll make the night pass faster. Gary: Hey! Stop walking so fast! Giselle: (ignoring Gary) Beautiful night, isn’t it? Gary: Not really. Giselle: (coughs) Ahem. Gary: What’s wrong? Got a cold or something? Giselle: (rolls her eyes) Don’t I look cute in the light? Gary: Not really. Giselle: (throws her hands up in frustration) Oooohhh! I give up! Gary: (as Giselle starts to walk away from him) What? What did I do? Giselle: (CC) He’s so arrogant that he makes me sick! Why do I even try to talk to guys like him? Back with Mimi and her group... Mimi: Say, I have an idea! Tai: Now what? Mimi: I just remembered that I have a few things I need to pick up at the store. Matt: Like what? Mimi: A hair bow, shaving cream, and some lipstick. Tai: Hair bow? Tori: Shaving cream? Joe: (gulps) Lipstick? Matt: What for? Mimi: The hair bow’s for this friend of mine back in the states. The lipstick is for me, of course. You know, in case I need it tonight. Joe faints on the spot. Tai immediately kneels down to try and wake him up. Tori rolls his eyes in embarrassment, while Matt looks at Mimi with unwavering eyes. Matt: And the shaving cream? Mimi: What is this? Twenty questions? The shaving cream’s for my legs, stupid! Matt: Stupid? Where do you get off calling me stupid? Mimi: I’ve got to keep my legs silky smooth! You think anyone would want to date me if I had hairy legs? Tori: I think you’ve done a good job. I don’t see a single hair on your legs. Mimi: (jumping up and down) Yeah! That’s one! Matt: Huh? Tori: One. Mimi: Never mind. Let’s just head for the store, okay? Matt, Mimi, and Tori walk off. After successfully waking up Joe, Tai drags him along after them. Joe: What happened? Tai: You fainted, that’s all. Joe: What for? Tai: I’ll tell you later, because I’m not dragging you home if you faint again! Over at King Penguin Park, Tenchi and his group are lying down on the grass at the top of a hill. They are looking up at the stars. Sora: This was a great idea, Tenchi. Tenchi: Yeah! The stars are shining bright tonight! Brock: (going up to Sora) If you think that’s impressive, then check this out! He points right at a random star in the center of the sky. Brock: You see, that may be the prettiest star in the sky, but it’s nothing compared to you my dear. With that, he takes Sora’s hands and clasps his hands around hers. Sora quickly snatches her hands away. Izzy: Um, Brock, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Brock: Huh? Why not? Sora: It’s personal. I don’t have to tell you. Brock: You’re not engaged, are you? I don’t see any rings on your fingers... Sora gets up and starts walking down the hill. Sora: I’m fourteen. Getting engaged at my age is just plain nonsense. Brock: Then what? Sora: (ignoring Brock) I’m getting tired. Let’s go home. Tenchi: (getting up from his seat) Well Sora, if you say so. (to Li and Izzy) Come on guys. Sora continues on down the hill, not looking back to see if the guys were following her. Sora: (CC) Personally, Brock scares me. I have no idea why he’s trying so hard to impress me, because it’s not working. Meanwhile, Sakura and her dates are playing at a local arcade. Ash and Richie are off playing a fighting game, which Ash seems to excel at for some reason. Cody is at a pinball machine, racking up a high score. That leaves Sakura and Davis, who are playing a racing game. Davis: And Motimiya steams out of the final turn. He’s heading for the finish line! Yes! He does it! A career best second place finish! And the crowd goes wild! Sakura, sitting next to him, applauds with joy. Sakura: That was great, Davis! Not bad! Davis: Sometimes I amaze myself. Sakura: It’s too bad that the only person that beat you was me. Davis: Huh? Sakura points to her screen. Davis looks at it and sees the words ‘You won!’ flashing onto the screen. Davis: (snaps his fingers) Rats! Sakura: Don’t worry about it. There’s no way you could’ve beaten me anyway. I’m an expert at this game. Davis: You know, I would’ve beaten you if I hadn’t been watching you the whole time. I have to admit, there were some things you did that I didn’t even know you could do! Sakura: (giggles) It’s all in the wrist. Here, let me show you. Sakura leans towards Davis and sticks her right wrist out towards him. Using her left hand, she began touching her wrist in certain places. Davis follows suit. Davis: Wow! Your wrist is pretty limber. Sakura: I guess I have gymnastics and cheerleading to thank for that. Davis suddenly gives Sakura a quick peck on her right cheek. Sakura begins to blush furiously. She then jumps out of her seat. Sakura: Um, I have to go to the restroom. Would you excuse me Davis? Davis: Sure... In the restroom, Sakura was looking at herself in the mirror. Sakura: (CC) The first thing I was thinking was ‘Do not fall in love! This is all just pretend.’ I felt myself falling for Davis, but I didn’t want to get his hopes up. I’m not interested in him. I don’t want him to assume that just because he kissed me that we’re that close now. That was just for the challenge. That’s all I have to remember. It’s just for the challenge. It’s almost eleven o’clock at night. At the front gate, Sora waves goodbye to Tenchi, Izzy, Li, and Brock. Sora: Thanks for the evening, guys. Tenchi: I guess this is goodbye. Sora: Bye Tenchi! Izzy: I’ll see you back in Odaiba in a few weeks. Sora: Okay Izzy. Take care of yourself. Li: I’m sorry that this evening wasn’t to your liking. Sora: Oh Li, you don’t have to apologize. It wasn’t your fault anyway. With that, Sora opens the gate and walks up the driveway. Moments later, Giselle and her group arrive at the gate. TK: Shall we walk you up to the door, Giselle? Giselle: I can handle it myself. Gary: You don’t know when to keep your mouth shut, do you? Giselle: Like you do? I haven’t heard one intelligent thing from you all night! Ken: (getting between the two) Break it up! Is this how you want to end the night? Tracey: (to Giselle) I’m sorry about my friends. Giselle: (sighs) It’s okay. Gary: (with Ken holding him back) It’s okay? Yeah right... Ken: Now Gary... Tracey takes Giselle by the hand and kisses it softly. Tracey: If I’m ever near Pokémon Tech, I’ll be sure to look you up. Giselle: (pulling her hand anyway) Sure thing. You do that. (under her breath) Creep. Giselle opens the gate and starts walking up the driveway. The guys start to walk away. A few minutes later, Ash, Richie, Cody, Davis, and Sakura arrive at the front gate. The group opens the gate and walks all the way to the front door. Once there, Sakura bids them farewell. Sakura: (holding up a plastic bag) Thanks for the hair bands, guys! Cody: You’re welcome, Sakura! Richie: You looked good tonight. I wish all girls were as cute and sweet as you are. Sakura: (blushing) Stop, you’re making me blush! Ash: Is there anything else we can do before we say goodbye? Sakura: Now that you mention it, I think there is one other thing. Davis: What? Sakura sits down on the steps leading up to the door and takes off her right shoe and sock. The guys look down and see a small red bump in the middle of her foot. Sakura: I think my shoe was on a little too tight. Could you check to make sure I didn’t accidentally cut myself? Richie: (kneeling down) Certainly. Richie examines the foot for a few seconds before looking back at Sakura. Richie: It doesn’t look like it’s bleeding. Does it still hurt? Sakura: Yeah, a little. You know, whenever I got hurt, my mom would always kiss me wherever I had hurt myself. Richie: Then allow me to play the role of mother. Richie kisses Sakura on the foot once, right where the sore spot is. Sakura smiles as Richie gets up and joins the others. Sakura quickly slips her sock and shoe back on. She gives each of the guys a quick peck on the cheek. Sakura: Thanks for the wonderful night! I hope we can do it again some time! With that, she opens the front door and goes in. Madison: Very smooth. Sakura quickly jumps back and sees Madison standing right by the doorway. Madison: Getting a little attached to them, are we? Sakura: It’s not like that, Madison! It’s all just part of the game. Sakura runs for the stairs and heads straight up for her room. Madison watches as her friend departs the room. Madison: (VO) Maybe it’s time I told her... Ash, Richie, Cody, and Davis race off just shortly after Tori appears in front of them. He shrugs his shoulders as Tai, Matt, Joe, and Mimi come up beside him. Tai: What’s with them? Tori: Beats me. Mimi: Well, it was nice to hang out with you guys. See you around! Mimi walks to the front door, opens it, and goes inside the mansion. Once in, she sighs in relief. Mimi: Thank goodness. It’s all over. (holding up a plastic bag) Well, two out of three isn’t bad. There was no way I was going to kiss them, though. I may know Tai, Joe, and Matt personally, but there’s no way I’d ever kiss one of them. Mimi slowly makes her way up the stairs and to her room, where Sora is waiting for her. Sora: So, how did it go? Mimi: Two out of three. How about you? Sora: Zero. Mimi: Zero. You mean you didn’t even help them complete one task? I’m disappointed in you Sora! Sora: I just couldn’t do it! Mimi: You just wish that you were in my place so you could see Tai and Matt again, right? Sora: No! It’s not like that. Mimi: I’m telling you, one day this ‘dating two guys’ bit of yours isn’t going to bite you in the butt. And then you’ll lose both of them. You’re just lucky I forgot to tell them about your predicament. Sora: Please Mimi, I’ll talk to them! I just need some time! Mimi goes into her drawer and pulls out her pink pajamas. Heading out, she turns to Sora once more. Mimi: They won’t wait forever for an answer, Sora. It’s now or never. She then walks out and heads for the bathroom. Sora moves over to the window and glances out towards the stars. She lets out a disappointing sigh as she continues to think about Tai and Matt. * * * * * * * * * * Day Twenty Two It’s ten o’clock the next morning. The doorbell rings. Nikki, who had been vacuuming downstairs by the front door, goes over to open it. Miss McKenzie enters the mansion soon after. Nikki: Miss McKenzie? Layla: In the flesh. Where are the girls? Nikki: Around. Everyone’s off doing something. Layla: I need to speak to Sakura, Sora, Mimi, and Giselle. Do you know where they are? Nikki: (beginning to think) Let’s see. Sora’s in the shower, getting ready to go out somewhere. Mimi’s still asleep. Sakura is eating breakfast in the kitchen. Layla: And Giselle? Nikki: Giselle? I haven’t seen her this morning. Jun appears in the hallway. It appears that she had overheard their conversation. Jun: Are you looking for Giselle, Miss McKenzie? Layla: Why, yes I am. Do you happen to know where she is? Jun: She said she was going out for a walk. But that was about two hours ago. The front door opens and Giselle steps in, dressed in a white T-shirt, a pair of black shorts, and some old sneakers. She is also wearing a headband to collect the sweat that had been dripping from her forehead. Giselle: Oh, Miss McKenzie. What brings you here? Layla: Take a seat in the dining room. I’ll be with you in a few minutes. Giselle: Can’t it wait? I just got back from running and I’m sweating from head to toe! (whines) I want to take a shower! Layla: It’ll only take a few minutes. Trust me. While you’re on your way, get Sakura from the kitchen. (to Nikki) You go tell Sora to get out of the shower. (to Jun) Jun, go up to Mimi’s room and wake her up. Giselle pulls Sakura away from the kitchen just as she begins to help Sasami prepare lunch. The two of them sit down in the dining room. Miss McKenzie joins them shortly thereafter. Mimi arrives there a few minutes later, yawning and still dressed in her pajamas. Sora is the last one to get into the room. She’s dressed in her white tennis uniform. Once they are all seated, Miss McKenzie hands each of them an evaluation form and a pencil. The girls begin to fill them out. Mimi: (CC, yawns) Couldn’t I have done this later? I wanna go back to bed! Sakura: (CC) Miss McKenzie said that these evaluations make up the final twenty-five points of the boys’ blind date challenge. We basically answer the questions and the responses will count towards their challenge accordingly. Sora and Sakura quickly fill theirs out and hand them back to Miss McKenzie. Giselle takes the time to examine her form carefully before turning hers in. That only leaves Mimi, who is still half asleep. That makes it especially hard for her to concentrate on answering the questions. Mimi: (points to one of the questions) What does this one say? Layla: (looking over Mimi’s shoulder) It says ‘Friendliness of your blind dates.’ Mimi: What is that supposed to mean? Layla: You’re supposed to respond on a scale of one to five, Mimi. Mimi: Which one means that they were friendly? Layla: Five means they were very friendly. One means they were very unfriendly. Mimi: (smiles) Okay then. Mimi circles the 1. Layla: Were they really that mean to you? Mimi: Now that you think of it... Mimi erases the circle around the 1 and circles the 3. Mimi: That’s better. Later that day, Misty is up in her bedroom. She is lying on her bed, looking at a picture of her traveling companions... Ash, Brock, and Pikachu. Misty: (sighs) It was nice to see Ash and Brock again. It’s too bad we didn’t get enough time to really talk with each other. I miss them so much. Misty’s loud thoughts are interrupted by a knock on the door. She turns towards it and sees Duplica standing at the entrance. Duplica: (waving hello) Hi Misty! What’s going on, girlfriend? I’m not disturbing you, am I? Misty: (waving Duplica in) No, it’s okay. Take a seat. Duplica: (heading for a nearby chair) Thanks. Where’s Kari? Misty: I think she went out with Sora. They were going out to play tennis. Duplica: Why didn’t you go out with them? Misty: (shrugs her shoulders) I’ve never played tennis. Duplica reaches over and grabs the picture from Misty’s hands. Duplica: Reminiscing about the guys, huh? Misty: Is it crime to do so? Duplica: You miss them, don’t you? Misty: (holding back a tear) A little. Duplica: Weird. And you just saw them yesterday. Speaking of which, I should’ve spent some time talking with them. Misty: I know. It seemed so short. Duplica: (smirks) You especially miss Ash, don’t you? Misty: (crosses her arms over her chest) I don’t miss him that much. Duplica: Come on, Misty. I can see it in your eyes. You like him! Misty: (yells) I do not! Duplica: Then why are you still traveling with him after all of these months? Misty: He still owes me a bike! Duplica: Are you still using that dumb excuse? Misty: It’s not a dumb excuse! Duplica: It doesn’t hurt to tell the truth! Just say that you like Ash. Misty: (yelling again) I don’t like Ash! I don’t want him as a boyfriend? Giselle: If you don’t want Ash, can I have him? Misty and Duplica turn their heads towards the door. There, they see Giselle standing in the doorway. Misty: Giselle! Do you always have to jump into people’s personal lives? Giselle: It’s just fate, I guess. It’s not my fault that everyone discusses that when I’m nearby. Duplica: We’re not in the mood for your shenanigans, Giselle. Go away. Giselle: Why should I? I’m interested in this conversation that you two are having. Misty: What do you want Ash for? Giselle: You said that you didn’t like him. As far as I’m concerned, that means he’s free to date other girls. (points to herself and bats her eyelashes) Like me. Misty: Like he’d love a snake like you! Giselle: A snake? What gives you the right to call me by the name of such a vile creature? Duplica: (unimpressed) You’re not riveting us with your rich folk talk. Giselle: Fine. I’ll go find someone who appreciates having me around. Misty: Then I guess you’ll be leaving the mansion then, huh? Giselle: What? Duplica: (snickers) Misty’s right. I honestly think there’s not one person in this house that thinks highly of you. Giselle: I’ll show you! I’ll show both of you! We’ll see who’s laughing when this is all over and I’m walking out of here with the grand prize! Giselle laughs maniacally as she walks out of the room. Misty and Duplica sweatdrop. Misty: You know, Pokémon Tech really needs to get a psychiatrist to work there. If everyone else there is as crazy as Giselle is, the chance of a competent trainer graduating from there is slim to none. Duplica: I hear ya. Misty and Duplica continue their conversation about Ash and the gang. Meanwhile, in the second floor recreation room, a similar love discussion is going on between Chelsea, Rita, and Nikki. Nikki: So, let me get this straight. You fell in love with a Pokémon trainer? Chelsea: Well, it’s not official. He has no idea of my feelings for him. At least, I don’t think he knows. Rita: But you said that he was flirting with you a lot. Chelsea: At that time, I was just playing with him. I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend. I already have Zachary, remember? Nikki: It’s not like you’ve told Zachary that you like him. Rita: That means you two aren’t officially a couple. Nikki: Which leaves you completely open to any possible suitors! Chelsea: I don’t know. Maybe all of the stress I’ve had lately has caused me to lose my mind. Rita: You’re stressed out? Girl, you should be happy! Nikki: Really. Having a boyfriend at your age is a very important decision. Chelsea: You don’t think it’s too soon? Nikki: (laughs) You’ve probably embarrassed yourself enough already the past few days that your parents are probably going to ground you for weeks! Rita: (smiles nervously) Yeah! It’s not like this is any worse. (VO) There’s no need for them to know about my love for Mr. Terada. Chelsea: I don’t know... Rita: Do you really love him? Chelsea: What? Nikki: Rita asked you if you love this guy! Chelsea: (sniffles) Yes, I do. Rita: Then what’s there to worry about? Nikki: I say you do everything in your power to track him down! Rita: If you love him so much, it’ll be worth it to talk to him again. Chelsea: If you say so. Nikki: Hey, what are friends for? The three girls share a collective hug. While doing so, neither Rita or Nikki can see the lone tear that is streaming down her face. Chelsea: (CC) I’m proud to have friends like Nikki and Rita. Without them, I don’t know what I’d do. Night Twenty Two Downstairs in the living room, yet another discussion about love was underway. Sakura and Yolei are trying to patch up their relationship with Madison. Sakura: I’m sorry about how I reacted the other day. It’s just... Yolei: (shakes her head) No, I’m the only who should apologize, Sakura. I had no right to butt in to your personal life. Sakura: But I shouldn’t have let my guard down. I guess I’ve gotten too relaxed here. Madison, who had been standing outside of the room the whole time, finally decides to walk in. Madison: Sakura. There’s something I’ve got to tell you. Sakura: Madison! Yolei: How long have you been out there? Madison: Long enough. Sakura, it’s very important that I talk to you. Sakura: Sure. What’s up? Madison: Well, I’ve been watching you the past few days. I got a little jealous of seeing you go out with those four guys. Sakura: You were in love with one of them? Why didn’t you tell me? Madison: It’s not that, Sakura. It’s just... well... Yolei: Spit it out. It’s not like we have all night! Madison: Sakura, we’ve known each other for a few years now and I was wondering whether or not we should take our relationship to the next level. Sakura: Madison, we’re best friends! I honestly don’t think there’s another level of friendship deeper than that. Madison: Sakura, you don’t understand! I love you! Sakura: I know. You love me as a best friend. We’re like sisters. Just like Yolei keeps saying about her and Mimi. Yolei: It’s true, you know! We’re just like sisters! Madison: (shaking her head) No Sakura. I mean I really love you. Sakura thinks for a minute before she realizes what Madison truly means. Sakura: You mean ‘love’ as in ‘significant other’ kind of love? Madison: In a matter of speaking, yes. Yolei: (gasps) No way! Sakura: (yelling) When were you going to tell me this? Yolei: I didn’t think it was like that! Madison: I was afraid to tell you because of what you might think. But then I thought that if I didn’t tell you now, you might fall in love with some guy and that would be the end of it. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. Sakura: (as tears begin to form around her eyes) Sorry doesn’t cut it, Madison! You’re no longer my best friend! Heck, you’re not even my friend anymore! Consider our friendship terminated... and this time, I’m serious! Sakura runs out of the room in tears. Madison just looks dejectedly at the carpet. Yolei slowly gets out of her seat and starts to walk out as well. Yolei: I thought you were cool, Madison. But now I see that you’re nothing but that. As Yolei departs, Madison sits down in a chair. She covers her face with her two hands and begins to weep into them. She begins to rethink what she did. And she realizes that it was a bad decision... End Episode Eleven Layla: (VO) On the next episode... Madison: (CC) Who would have thought that three little words would turn everyone against me? Meilin: (CC) I knew she had feelings for Avalon the whole time! I just didn’t want anyone else to know, that’s all. Layla: (VO) What happens when a girl loves another girl? Kari: I know it seems weird, but think of it from Madison’s perspective. Giselle: Everything can’t be solved by talking it out! Sora: You should see our fan mail. You won’t believe how many people want to see me sleep with Mimi. Mimi: As if that would ever happen. Layla: (VO) Will things get sorted out? Then... Casey: Batter up! Layla: (VO) The girls are swinging for the fences, among other baseball related activities... Jun swings the bat and hits the baseball all the way to left field fence, two hundred feet away. Duplica: Talk about strength. Giselle leaps into the air, but the ball falls over her head. She lands on her side, causing a long grass streak to appear on the left side of her uniform. Sasami: Oh man... those grass stains will take forever to get out. Layla: (VO) That’s all on the next episode of Roomies... Copyright Date: 7/26/01
