I hope I got your attention after what happened in the last episode. Now, let’s see if the rumors are true... Also in this episode, you’ll get a peek at the current standings for the boys. You’ll find out how much money they could win at this point in time, as well as what prizes they are currently eligible for. For those of you who are still contemplating who to vote here in the boys’ edition, consider this a special incentive. Because of the timing of this episode, the standings will include everything up to the end of this chapter, which will cover all the way up to Day 16. You will see this chart twice more... at the end of the fourth week and then at the end, after the show is over. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters here in this fanfic. I also apologize for any references made to a certain sexual scandal. I think you all know what I am talking about. * * * * * * * * * * Oak: (VO) On our last episode... Gary: (raises his hands up in frustration) I don’t believe this! Ash: If our team doesn’t start winning rounds, we’re going to lose! Oak: (VO) Tensions increased as the two teams competed in the third physical challenge... Ash: Hey! Gary: Just what were you doing out there? Ash: My strategy didn’t work, that’s all. Izzy: The heck it didn’t! Cody: I can’t believe you are so stupid! Gary: Thanks a lot, loser! As the trio walks away, Ash sadly walks off to be alone. The argument comes to a close when Tai gets out of his go-kart and starts doing cartwheels all over the infield. Tracey: You guys come back here! It’s unsportsmanlike to just walk off! But Gary, TK, Cody, and Joe all ignore him, as they go to join Ash. Oak: (VO) Meanwhile, the gang goes to get Davis out of the Pokémon Center... She leads the quartet towards the patient’s rooms. Heading into the first one, the group gasps in shock. Davis is lying peacefully in bed, with three Chansey tending to his every need. One of them is fanning Davis with a leaf. A second is feeding him some grapes, one at a time. The third is holding a half-filled glass of water with a straw in it. Davis: Oh, hi guys! How are you? Tai: Davis! Are you okay? Davis: Of course I am! That’s what I kept telling Nurse Joy and these Chansey. But then they started waiting on me hand and foot... oh man, I felt like I was in heaven! Joy: I’m not really sure. Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something about him that makes butterflies flutter around in my stomach. Davis: I don’t know what that means, but it sounded good to me! Joy: I’ll be right back with your clothes. Davis gets out of bed wearing nothing but a hospital gown. Joy smiles as she disappears so she can get his stuff. Professor Oak leaves the room, probably to follow Brock back outside. Tai and Ken stare at Davis, speechless. Davis: What? Oak: (VO) Hold up... what’s going on? Elsewhere in the house, Tai, Ken, and Davis are talking about what exactly went on at the Pokémon Center. Tai: Come on Davis! You can’t fool me! Davis: Nothing out of the ordinary happened yesterday. Ken: Why did we see them waiting on you in bed? Davis: That was Nurse Joy’s idea. I had nothing to do with it. Tai: And you let her do that? Tai: I think something happened between you two, and I’m sure that it was more than just a check-up. Davis: Are you saying that I like Nurse Joy? Tai: Not exactly, but somewhere along those lines. Davis: Unbelievable! She’s got to be at least twice my age! You really think I’d give up Kari for her? I’ve told you all there is! There’s nothing more! Tai: Screw you! Davis: (gasps) Tai! Tai: Don’t tell Davis this... but I have reason to believe that Nurse Joy may have done something to him. Ken: She wouldn’t... would she? Tai: She probably told Davis to keep it a secret. Ken: Even if she did, you can’t prove it. There’s no evidence. Tai: We don’t... yet. We let him go for now. We always know where he is anyway, so if we need him again we can reach him. Ken: Okay. But you’d better be careful about this. You’re going to be looking mighty dumb if this theory of yours falls through. * * * * * * * * * * Sixteen young guys Four different anime shows Forty-two days living alone in a mansion One lucky soul walks away with up to one million dollars in cash (Begin theme song, showing each of the contestants, two at a time via split screen) Ash, pulling Pikachu away from Pallet Town on a leash Brock, taking care of his siblings Cody, practicing kendo with his grandfather Davis, with Veemon, dreaming about Kari and Gatomon Gary, showing Ash his ten gym badges Izzy, helping Kari and the Asian Digidestined return the Digimon to the Digiworld Joe, digging Gomamon out of the snow Ken, arriving on the soccer field at halftime Li, smiling at Sakura after he gained possession of the Time card Matt, performing with his band at a Christmas Eve concert Richie, running to catch the elevator with Ash and company Tai, hugging Agumon after he had escaped from the Digimon Emperor Tenchi, walking to the bus stop on his way to school TK, thinking about the powers of darkness during their battle with Black WarGreymon Tori, jumping over the fence to save Sakura from Li Tracey, drawing a picture of Pikachu while Ash and Misty look on Some of these guys will become the best of friends Others will develop grudges against those they hate But only one will walk out with up to a million dollars in cash and prizes These boys are... roomies! The only two people who didn’t know about it were Ash and TK. They’re on their way back after their side trip to the mountains. Ash: ... and Misty keeps bugging me about that stupid bike of hers! I should just buy her one so she can get out of my hair and on with her own life. TK: Good. I mean, that’s the stupidest reason I’ve ever heard. Following you all this time just because of that. Man, if I were her, I’d kill you, take the money I need from your wallet, and just run off. Ash: (beginning to sweat) She might be watching this, you know. Don’t give her any ideas. TK: Oh. Sorry about that. Don’t worry, it’ll be edited out anyway. Ash and TK reach the front gate. TK opens it and ushers Ash to go in ahead of them. The two of them continue on up the driveway and towards the front door. TK: So let’s go over this again. You go in there, confront Gary, and tell him what’s on your mind. He has a right to know about everything he’s put you through. Ash: I don’t know... TK: Come on! What do you have to lose? Besides, if he wants to ignore you, you can rough him up a little bit. Ash: But we can’t punch anybody, remember? It’s in the contract. TK: I wouldn’t hesitate if I was talking to my brother. In fact, I’m sure if Li was in your position, he’d do it without any problem. Ash: That’s what I’m afraid of. TK: Don’t worry. He’ll listen to you. You won’t have to resort to violence, I promise you. Ash: And if I have to? TK: Just get out of there before you have to. As Ash opens the front door, he sees the house in shambles. There are people running all over the house. TK squeezes by Ash, who is still in the doorway, as he catches sight of the ruckus for the first time. TK: What is going on around here? Ash: Are we having a party? They look into the living room and spot Tori sitting down on the sofa, drinking a cup of hot cocoa. They run over to him. Ash: Tori! TK: What’s going on? Tori: (putting his cup down on a table) Oh, it’s you. At least we finally have a voice of reason here. Ash: Why is everyone running around like crazy? Tori: Someone brought up this weird rumor and now everyone believes it. Tori picks up his cup of cocoa and starts sipping from it. Ash and TK look at each other and then back at Tori. TK: So? What is this rumor? Tori: (pulls the cup away from his mouth) Remember the Nurse Joy that took Davis away after his accident? Ash and TK nod their heads. Tori: Well, it seems that someone thinks that between the time he was taken away and the time we went to pick him up... Tori takes another sip, leaving the duo in suspense for another few seconds. Ash: And? Tori: Let’s just say that they spent some ‘private’ time together. Ash: Huh? TK: You mean? Tori: That’s what everyone says. TK: Do you believe it? Tori: Not really. Ash: Then how come everyone else is so riled up about it? Tori: You tell me. I’m the second oldest person here, only to Tenchi, but does anyone listen to me? TK: So where’s Tenchi? Tori: I think he went down to Professor Oak’s laboratory. He said he wanted to investigate further into the rumor. TK: I say we should go up to Davis and see if this rumor really is true. Ash: Good idea. The two of them begin to head for the stairs, but Tori gets up to stop them. Tori: Hold on... Ash: What? TK: What’s up? Tori: Don’t you think everybody’s tried that? Davis won’t let anyone into his room. I’d break it down, but then I’d get reprimanded like Li did. Li: (yelling from another room) I heard that! Ash: So what are we supposed to do? The conversation is interrupted by a knock at the front door. TK goes to open it. Upon doing so, he sees Tenchi and Professor Oak standing there. TK: Professor Oak! What brings you here? Oak: Go get everyone for an emergency house meeting. I want to discuss this with everyone. * * * * * * * * * * A couple of minutes later, all of the boys are gathered in the living room. Professor Oak stands in the center of the room. Davis is sitting in the corner. He is not looking at anyone in particular. Oak: Ahem! I am here tonight to find out the truth about a certain rumor that Tenchi has brought to my attention. Now, from my understanding, there’s a rumor going around that the Nurse Joy in Viridian City and our very own Davis participated in a very intimate act. Matt: Why can’t you just say they had sex? Cody: Can someone please explain what brought this up anyway? Oak: That’s why. Cody’s only eight years old. He’s too young for this type of stuff. Cody: No offense Professor Oak, but I understand all of this. Oak: It’s the principle of it all, Cody. A kid your age isn’t supposed to think about things like this, period. (turns to Davis) I’m going to allow Davis here a chance to clear his name. Davis: Huh? Oak: Davis, are these rumors true? Davis: I’m telling you, it’s all lies! Oak: There. It’s settled. Tai: (jumping out of his seat) Professor Oak, with all due respect! Can’t you see? Nurse Joy threatened that she would hurt Davis if he told anybody about it. Davis: If she said that, then wouldn’t I be fearful for my life right now? Tai: Maybe he’s hiding it, sir! Oak: Tai Kamiya! Sit down this instant! Tai sighs and reluctantly sits back down in his seat. Oak: I have been a Pokémon researcher for most of my life. I know all of the Nurse Joys in the Kanto Region very well, including the one in Viridian City. If she had any intention of doing something like that, I would know. Tai: That’s the point! You can’t trust a person you only refer to for business. Oak: All of this is nonsense. Davis has denied the accusations and I’m sure Joy will too. Consider this rumor squashed. Tai: But professor! Oak: No buts! This is over, end of discussion! Tracey, can you come with me? Tracey: What for? Oak: I need to catch up on some work that I had to put on hold because of this. Professor Oak makes his way to the door. Tracey gets to the door first. He opens it for the professor and then he follows him out. They close the door on the way out. The group then disperses, with the exception of Ash, TK, Davis, and Tai, who stay in the living room. Davis: Just what are you up to, Tai? Tai: We’re doing this for your own personal safety! Davis: (crossing his arms over his chest) Where have I heard that before? TK: I’m confused, Davis. This is all false, right? Davis: (angry) Of course it is, TS! You know Kari’s the only girl for me! TK: Calm down! No need to get angry about it! Ash: I hope so. I’d expect something like this from Brock or Tracey, not you! Davis: I can’t believe this is all true! Ash: I didn’t say that! Davis: You know what, forget it! No one ever listens to me anyway! Sleep on the couch, Ash, ‘cause I’m not letting you into the room tonight. With that, Davis runs upstairs and towards his room. Tai runs after him, but Davis beats him there. He slams the door in Tai’s face. Ash and TK can hear Tai yelling for Davis to open the door, but he doesn’t comply. TK: I know him and I are in a truce over Kari, but this is a ridiculous way to pass the time! Ash: (beginning to think) I wonder. What would possess Nurse Joy to do something like this? TK: Wait a minute! What if that crash he had knocked him senseless? He probably doesn’t remember what happened at all! Ash: It could be possible. TK: (sarcastically) That’s just great. Ash: What do you mean? TK: He was racing me, remember? Somehow I feel this is all my fault for making Davis work so hard to pass me in the first place. Ash: Look who’s talking nonsense. Davis lost control of the wheel by himself. I saw it, Professor Oak saw it, basically everyone in the house saw it! TK: Except for me. He was behind me and to the outside. I was focused on winning the race. Ash: TK, stop thinking that! It’s not your fault and it never will be! We’ve got to think here. What could have possessed Nurse Joy to do such a thing? If she did do it, that is. TK: You mean do a little detective work of our own? Ash: Yeah. TK: But what if we have another challenge tomorrow? And how do we get to Viridian City? Ash: Gee, I didn’t think about that. TK: Here’s my idea. For right now, we’ll just forget about all of this. Ash: Forget? I just learned about it! TK: Professor Oak said there’s no evidence to prove it. Until there is, there’s nothing that can be done. We wait for something to show up or for the rumor to completely die down. Ash: That’s it? That’s your idea? TK: It’s better than going on a wild goose chase to Viridian City, getting lost and hungry along the way! Ash: Okay. I’ll agree with you for now. The two shake hands in agreement. TK: Hey, you want to go and play this neat board game I found yesterday? Ash: Do I ever! Let’s go! The two run off to the first floor recreation room. Meanwhile, up in the second floor recreation room, Tori and Tenchi are busy talking about the rumor as well. Tori: What do you make of this? Tenchi: If that nurse had any common sense, she’d know better. That’s all I have to say on the matter. Tori: I don’t think the rumor has any truth to it. I mean, she may be cute, but you’d think someone of her status would think twice about it all. Tenchi: And to think that she sees hundreds of young trainers everyday. Tori: Exactly. If the rumor is true, there is a possibility that she may have gotten to other kids as well. Tenchi: So? It’s none of our business. Tori: Don’t you see? What if the rumor is true? Tenchi: Weren’t you denying it for the last few hours? Tori: I was until you brought up that point. Tenchi: Professor Oak says there’s nothing to worry about and I believe him. Tori: If you say so. Day Fourteen There’s more discussion over the Davis/Nurse Joy issue. This time, it takes place in the first floor recreation room. It’s Brock and Tracey now talking through it, with Izzy also in the room, watching TV. Brock: (blushing) Davis is so lucky. Tracey: I’m just shocked over it all. Brock: To think he could score with Nurse Joy! (crying) I’ve been trying to do that for years! Tracey: I know he’s still getting over Kari, but I think he took it a little too far. Brock: Yeah. Nurse Joy has to be, what, twice his age? Tracey: I say that’s about right. But then remember how she was acting yesterday? Flashback to two days ago... Nurse Joy and Chansey grab Davis by the arms. The duo runs over to Joy’s car, throw him in the back seat, and then they take off back towards town. Everyone else sweatdrops. Tracey: That’s the weirdest Nurse Joy I’ve ever seen. Ash: She seemed normal the last time I saw her. Gary: She must have gotten tired of people blowing up her Pokémon Center. Back to the present... Brock: Now that you mention it, she did look a little hotter than usual. Tracey: (slaps Brock across the face) Not that! I’m talking about her throwing Davis in the car. She could have injured him further! Brock: You’re right! What if that knocked him out? Tracey: That means if he doesn’t remember anything, then he must have been out when Joy did... well, whatever she did. Brock: But what about when I saw him in a hospital gown and not his regular clothes? Tracey: That could be standard procedure... unless she was trying to hide something. Brock: His clothes looked perfectly normal to me. Tracey: Yeah, but Joy could have had time to wash them. Brock: Wait a minute! It all makes sense now! Tracey: Man, I should have talked with you about this before last night! I probably could have convinced Professor Oak about the whole thing. Izzy: (interrupting) If I may interrupt, that’s all circumstantial evidence. I agree with your theories, but that’s all they are. Unless you can prove that’s what really happen, Professor Oak might think of them as your personal deluded dream. Brock: He’s right. Izzy: But coming from you two, he might be more inclined to believe you because you’re older than most of the others here. (sweatdrops) Then again, look how Tai’s theory crashed and burned. Tracey: I’ll ask him when I go to the laboratory later. I’ll try to get him to sit down with us and discuss the whole thing in private. Brock: Good idea. Izzy: You do that. Izzy turns back towards the TV. He sees a cyan haired girl with ponytails on the screen. A strange creature which is a half cat, half rabbit, stands next to her. Izzy: I believe in making this show more exciting and everything, but really! There’s got to be some honest, logical explanation for this! Brock: What show? Izzy: It’s this spin-off of ‘Tenchi Muyo!’ that I heard about. It’s called ‘Pretty Sammy.’ It’s not too interesting. Tracey: That kind of looks like that girl, Sasami. And isn’t that Ryo-ohki? Ryo-ohki: Sasami! Transform into Pretty Sammy! Tenchi needs you! Brock: Since when did Ryo-ohki learn how to talk? The transformation sequence begins. The camera is focused on the trio, who are looking at the screen. We can’t exactly see what’s going on, but a noticeable amount of drool is forming on their mouths. Night Fourteen That night at the laboratory, Professor Oak is currently updating his Pokédex with information about Ursaring. Tracey, who was shining some of the spare Pokéballs, walks up to him. Tracey: Can I talk to you, Professor Oak? Oak: Go ahead. I’m listening. Tracey: Well, we’ve been thinking about this Nurse Joy/Davis thing, and I feel that we should investigate into it further. Oak: I told you last night to forget about that stupid rumor! Tracey: Hear me out! We need to find out if it’s true or not! We’re only going on hunches here! I know you were there too. You saw it! Oak: What I saw and what I thought are two different things, Tracey. Tracey: This whole thing won’t blow over until we prove it true or false! We should at least bring it up to Nurse Joy herself, so we can see what she has to say. Oak: (sighs) If I say yes, will you get off my back? Tracey: Yes I will! Oak: (sighs again) Come back here in the morning and present your theory to me, along with whomever else thought of it. I’ll evaluate it and from there decide whether or not a trip to Viridian City is necessary. Do we have a deal? Tracey: Yes, we do. Oak: Now stop bothering me! I’m busy here! Back at the mansion, Davis is in his room alone. He is looking out the window, up to the stars above. He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out his picture of Kari. Davis: (CC) Kari! If you can hear me... HELP! I don’t know what to do! Everyone thinks Nurse Joy and I got together and did that thing that adults do. You know what I’m talking about! Kari, if you’re out there, HELP! * * * * * * * * * * Day Fifteen The following morning, Brock, Tracey, and Izzy presented their theory to Professor Oak. After some prodding, the professor decided to follow through with his promise, although he didn’t completely believe everything they said. He called ahead to let Nurse Joy they were coming. The foursome then piled into the professor’s car, a station wagon, and made the drive to Viridian City. After a few hours, they finally arrive at the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy meets them at the front desk. She tells one of the Chansey to take over for her while she leads the group to her office. That’s where the meeting starts... Oak: I’m sorry to bother you, but this meeting was necessary to quell a rumor that’s been going around. Joy: It’s no bother at all. What’s this rumor, anyway? Oak: You might want to sit down for this. Joy: I am sitting down. Oak: You are? (takes off his glasses and wipes them with his lab coat) Dang glasses. Brock, Tracey, and Izzy snicker in the background. Oak: You remember Davis Motimiya, right? Joy: (innocently) Who? Oak: The boy you were treating for injuries two days ago. Joy: Oh him? What about him? Oak: Well, it has come to my attention that some of the boys, including the trio behind me, have reason to believe that you performed an inappropriate act with him while he was under your care. Joy: I think it’s utterly preposterous that you think I forced him to do something like that! Brock gets out of his seat and starts pointing at Tracey and Izzy. Brock: They thought of it, not me! I’d never accuse you of something like that! Tracey: (pulling Brock down) Sit down, Brock! Oak: Obviously, some of the boys think that’s exactly what you did. Although I don’t believe that the rumor is true myself, I decided to come down here myself and settle it once and for all. Izzy: (getting up out of his seat) I wholeheartedly believe when you say your innocent, but allow me to provide a couple of hunches that we had. I’ll present them and you can comment on them when you feel like it, okay? Joy nods her head. Izzy: Okay. First, I’d like to reference the rough way that you through Davis into your car. We all know that Davis was telling the truth at that point in time. He had not been injured in his crash. Dazed, though, remains an optimistic possibility. But even if he was injured, no self-respecting medical person such as yourself would just throw him into the car. Joy: I admit that I was a little hasty, but I didn’t mean to harm him. If I did, it was unintentional. Izzy: We have reason to believe that he was knocked out in the process. Joy: He was not. He did get a nasty bump, though, which I did have to treat. Izzy: What about the clothes? How come he was wearing a night gown when the others went to pick him up at the Pokémon Center? Since when did humans have a patient dress code if you’re only supposed to take care of Pokémon. Joy: I can explain that. You see, after performing the check-up I said I was going to do, I told him to rest in the room. I didn’t have time to take him back to the track because I was so busy, so I decided to wait until Professor Oak came by on the way back to Pallet Town. Izzy: And the clothes? Brock: Don’t interrupt Nurse Joy when she’s talking! Izzy: I’m sorry! Sheesh! Joy: As I was saying, while I was working on a Pokémon in the emergency room, one of the Chansey went into his room. She thought Davis was a Totodile that we were expecting in that day. So she attempted to give him a drink. She poured an entire pitcher of water on him. Tracey: You’re kidding? Joy: Nope. Oak: I must say, I also find that hard to believe. Joy: I’ll prove it to you. She goes over to the file cabinet and pulls out a folder. In it is some information on a Totodile that had been admitted because he was suffering from the flu. It mentions that the Pokémon was scheduled to arrive at the Pokémon Center for treatment that morning, but its trainer didn’t bring it in until that night. Joy: Chansey didn’t realize it at the time. She made an honest mistake. Izzy: So why hadn’t you given back his clothes when we got there? Joy: They were still in the dryer. I was about to get them when the professor showed up. Oak: See boys? She’s refuted every single one of your theories. I have to say that this case is closed. Tracey: But Professor Oak! There’s got to be something else! Joy: I did not have sexual relations with that boy! When will you boys get it through your thick skulls? Brock: (standing up to yell at Tracey and Izzy) Yeah! When will you boys get it through your thick skulls? Izzy: (pulling Brock down) Brock, shut up! I have to admit though, she seems like she’s telling the truth. Joy: Of course I’m telling the truth! Perjury is against my protocol as a Pokémon nurse! Brock: Eh? Izzy: She meant that she can’t lie or she’ll lose her job. Brock: Oh. Tracey: (bowing to Nurse Joy) We apologize for accusing you of such. I assure you, we didn’t start the rumor. We just wanted to find out if it was true or not. Joy: As you can see, it isn’t. Who started the rumor anyway? Was it Davis? Oak: I don’t know myself, but I have reason to believe that it was someone else. Brock: What will you do about it? Oak: I need to talk to Davis privately first, to see if he’ll tell his side of the story. Tracey: You mean we have to be there too? Oak: No. I want him alone so I can discuss things with him privately. I’ll go from there. Joy: I hope this squashes the rumor for good. Oak: I hope so too. Again, I’m sorry to bother you. Joy: No problem. I know you were curious about it, so you had to follow it up. Oak: I’ll keep you informed of anything I come across. Come on boys. Professor Oak leads the way out of the room, followed by Tracey and Izzy. Brock just stands there, staring dreamily at Nurse Joy. Joy: And what is your problem? Brock: You’re looking fine today, Nurse Joy! May I interest you in a date? Izzy comes in and pulls Brock out of the room before Nurse Joy can react. Izzy: Let’s not turn this into a love triangle secret affair mystery, okay? I’ve had enough for one day. Day Sixteen The following day, Ash, Brock, Tracey, Li, Tori, Tenchi, Izzy, and Davis were invited down to the laboratory. Professor Oak was going to discuss his thoughts about the scandal. Officer Jenny was also going to be there, just in case. The nine of them gather around a table outside in his backyard. Oak: As you all know, I went to Viridian City yesterday to talk to Nurse Joy. Davis: You did? How come? Oak: After hearing theories from Brock, Tracey, and Izzy yesterday, I decided that it would be best to get her viewpoint on it all. Tenchi: What did she say? Oak: She denies it. She did it with confidence too, which makes me believe that she was telling the truth. Davis: I told you so! There’s nothing between us! Tori: Will you be quiet! Oak: Today, I want to get Davis’s view on this. Davis: (eyes open in surprise) Huh? Oak: Since you are the other half of this little scandal, I have to get your view of the whole thing as well. Davis: You mean I have to tell you know, in front of everyone? Oak: No, just me. I’m going to talk to you in my office in private, where it’ll just be between you and me. Davis: That’s fine by me. Izzy: (raising his hand) Excuse me professor! Oak: Yes? Izzy: If Officer Jenny isn’t going in with you, then why is she here? Oak: Good question. You see... Jenny: (stopping Professor Oak) Allow me. The professor has reason to believe that the rumor started somewhere in the mansion, most likely by one of your fellow roomies. I’m not saying that the person or persons involved are here right now, but I want to see if any of you know about it. Tori: What will happen when you find out who started it? Jenny: I’m not sure yet, but he will be in a lot of trouble when I find him. Professor Oak leads Davis inside the laboratory. Jenny begins questioning the guys one by one. All of a sudden, a cloud of smoke appears in front of the group. A familiar tune begins playing in the air. Jessie: Prepare for trouble! James: Make it double! Ash: It’s Team Rocket! Tori: (with a raised eyebrow) Who? Jessie: To protect the world from devastation! James: To unite all peoples within our nation! Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love! James: To extend our reach to the stars above! A teenage girl with red hair that stretches several inches from her body appears to the group’s left. Jessie: Jessie! A teenage boy with long blue hair hanging down to his soldiers to the group’s right. James: James! The two Rockets strike their traditional dramatic poses. Jessie: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light! James: Surrender now or prepare to fight! A Meowth appears out of nowhere and lands between the two of them as the music ends. Meowth: We’re the cats that always land on our feet! Meowth smiles for the camera. He then turns towards Officer Jenny and the boys and sees them staring weirdly at them. Especially Ash. Meowth: What’s wrong with the twerp? He turns around and sees Jessie and James giving him the same look. Meowth: Huh? Jessie: You said the wrong line! James: What TV show are you from anyway? Meowth: Sorry, I was thinking about someone else. Jessie: Ahem... let’s do this again. Jessie and James go back to their dramatic poses. Li: (sweatdrops) This is so pathetic... Jessie: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light! James: Surrender now or prepare to fight! Meowth drops out of the sky once again and lands in the same place as before. Meowth: Meowth! That’s right! Although Jessie and James are now satisfied with Meowth’s performance, Ash, Officer Jenny, and the others still have that weird look on their face. Tenchi: Are you done yet? Jessie: Of course we are! James: Why do you ask? Jenny: (pulling out a pair of handcuffs) You are under arrest! James: (screaming like a girl) Eek! How long have you been here? Jenny: Long enough. Ash: I like Pokémon! Everyone turns and looks at him strangely. Li: Tell me why every time you say something out of your mouth, it’s always something stupid? Tenchi: Who are these clowns? Tori: They should hang out with my sister. They’ll be perfect babysitters for the squirt. Li: Wait a second! Did that Meowth talk? Meowth: What’s it to you, kid? Tenchi: I thought Pokémon couldn’t speak English? Meowth: You’re looking at a special Meowth! Jessie: Quit the chit chat! (pulls out a Pokéball) Ready for a battle twerps? James: (pulls out a Pokéball as well) Let’s see what they’re made of. Jenny: This is private property! I order you to leave immediately or I will place you under arrest for trespassing! Li and Tori take a place on either side of Jenny. They both then strike fighting poses, as if they were going to fight Team Rocket hand to hand. Oak: (VO) Boy, what a sticky situation we have here! Team Rocket has shown up! Why are they here? Are they just after Ash? Or do they have another purpose for their visit? The answer is coming up in our next episode!
