Tori: (pulls the cup away from his mouth) Remember the Nurse Joy that took Davis away after his accident? Ash and TK nod their heads. Tori: Well, it seems that someone thinks that between the time he was taken away and the time we went to pick him up... Tori takes another sip, leaving the duo in suspense for another few seconds. Ash: And? Tori: Let’s just say that they spent some ‘private’ time together. Oak: (VO) Can this be true? Brock: But what about when I saw him in a hospital gown and not his regular clothes? Tracey: That could be standard procedure... unless she was trying to hide something. Brock: His clothes looked perfectly normal to me. Tracey: Yeah, but Joy could have had time to wash them. Brock: Wait a minute! It all makes sense now! Tracey: This whole thing won’t blow over until we prove it true or false! We should at least bring it up to Nurse Joy herself, so we can see what she has to say. Oak: (VO) And what does Nurse Joy have to say about it? Joy: I think it’s utterly preposterous that you think I forced him to do something like that! Tracey: But Professor Oak! There’s got to be something else! Joy: I did not have sexual relations with that boy! Oak: (VO) Now... Oak: Since you are the other half of this little scandal, I have to get your view of the whole thing as well. Davis: That’s fine by me. Oak: (VO) But while we were busy discussing things... Jessie: Prepare for trouble! James: Make it double! Jessie: Quit the chit chat! (pulls out a Pokéball) Ready for a battle twerps? James: (pulls out a Pokéball as well) Let’s see what they’re made of. * * * * * * * * * * Sixteen young guys Four different anime shows Forty-two days living alone in a mansion One lucky soul walks away with up to one million dollars in cash (Begin theme song, showing each of the contestants, two at a time via split screen) Ash, walking away from the racetrack after being yelled at by his teammates Brock, flirting with Nurse Joy at the Viridian City Pokémon Center Cody, trying to figure out how to use a Pokéball Davis, tackling TK in the hedge maze prize challenge Gary, convincing Mrs. Ketchum to buy some foot warmers from him Izzy, thinking about how his team lost the first physical challenge Joe, getting settled in his room just after arriving at that mansion Ken, discussing with Tai his theory about Nurse Joy Li, using his sword to slice down the first door Matt, yelling at Tracey after discovering that he was eating all the candy samples Richie, recalling his days at the Pokémon League Tai, leading the boys through the Digiworld Tenchi, talking with Ken about being a bachelor TK, forming a truce with Davis after Kari had yelled at them Tori, drinking a cup of cocoa as Ash and TK run towards him Tracey, assuring his team that he’d even the score in the go-kart physical challenge Some of these guys will become the best of friends Others will develop grudges against those they hate But only one will walk out with up to a million dollars in cash and prizes These boys are... roomies! Meanwhile, Officer Jenny was busy interviewing some of the boys when Team Rocket decides to drop in. I hope they don’t mess things up. Let’s see what they’re up to... Jenny: This is private property! I order you to leave immediately or I will place you under arrest for trespassing! Jessie: Who’s going to stop us? You? James: I’m not afraid of a police officer! Li and Tori take a place on either side of Jenny. They both then strike fighting poses, as if they were going to fight Team Rocket hand to hand. Li: I am Li Showron. I am a direct descendant of Clow Reed. I order you to leave. If you don’t, you will pay the price. Tori: Yeah. What he said. James: (a little scared) This is a Pokémon battle, not a street fight! Meowth: Don’t you know how to fight fair? Tracey: Just what are you three doing here anyway? James: I’m glad you asked that, watcher twerp. Jessie: Allow us to express our displeasure! Meowth: You see, something happened to us that you need to know about. Izzy: What could that be? Jessie: We’re here to rebel against the creator and the production staff of this reality show! Ash: (in surprise) No way! Brock: That can’t be possible! James: They rejected our applications! We didn’t even get to attend tryouts! Meowth: We saw this as our one and only chance to rise to the status of a superstar! Jessie: But then we had our dreams shot down! James: We’re out for revenge! Davis: That’s the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard! If you had any sense, you would have shown some grace, compassion, and good will... just like I did. Li: (rolling his eyes) Yeah, right. Ash: Davis! What are you doing here? Davis: I’m done with my interview. And it looks like I made it in time. You’ve got some trouble on your hands, I see. Jessie: We’re going to do what we should have done in the first place! James and Meowth: (simultaneously) Yeah! James: (looking at Jessie) Huh? What do you mean? Jessie: (whacks James on the head) I mean that we’re going to expose this show for the fraud it is! Ash: (gasps) You can’t! Jessie: Just watch us! Li: How are you going to do that? Jessie: Now that we know the location where the show is being taped, the press will pay a fortune just to find out about it! Brock: You’re not going to get away with this! James: Just try and stop us! Li leaps right at James. He kicks James down to the ground, causing him to wince in pain. Jessie and Meowth can only gasp in shock. Jessie: How dare you! Tori: There’s more where that came from! Meowth: Alright kid, that’s it! You’ll have to face me! Meowth jumps at Tori with his claws drawn. Tori responds by stepping out of the way, then karate chopping Meowth in his back. Meowth falls face first onto the ground. The feline Pokémon gets up and starts to rub his nose with his paws. Meowth: Ouch! Dat hurt! Ash: (VO) I know Li knows some martial arts techniques, but I didn’t think Tori did. Jessie: I’m not taking any chances! (throws her Pokéball) Arbok, go! Arbok: (coming out of the Pokéball) Char-bok! Tori: A snake? Izzy: That looks like a perfect specimen to start my survey on the world’s most dangerous Pokémon. Tenchi: Now’s not a good time to be thinking about something like that, Izzy. Jenny: (pulling out a Pokéball) Leave this to me! (throws it) Growlithe, go! Growlithe comes out of his Pokéball. It howls in delight. Jenny: Growlithe, tackle! Jessie: Arbok! Poison sting attack! Arbok fires and misses just wide of its target. Growlithe aims for Arbok’s midsection and hits him squarely in the chest, just below his jaw. Arbok reels back in pain. Meanwhile, Jessie growls in anger. Jessie: This is unbelievable! Suddenly, a giant trap door opens up under Jessie, James, Meowth, and Arbok. The quartet falls into the pit. They all reach the bottom of the twenty-foot hole, all landing on their butts. Professor Oak appears at the edge of the hole, with Officer Jenny and the others next to him. Oak: I decided to add a small security system after what happened the last time you three were here. James: No trap can hold the great Team Rocket! Jessie: We’ll get out of here! You’ll see! Jenny: I’ll make a call to Viridian City for some assistance. I’ll make sure the secret doesn’t get out. Oak: Thank you officer. Tracey: I’m impressed! When did you find the time to create such an elaborate trap without me knowing? Oak: There are things about me that you still have yet to learn, Tracey. As Officer Jenny and Professor Oak head into the laboratory to use the phone, the boys look down into the hole. Izzy: It’s not the most elaborate trap to my knowledge, but it seemed to be good enough to catch those three. Ash: They’re not really that bad. That’s why we ignore them most of the time. Brock: They’re just a waste of time. Tracey: Tell me about it. James: How dare you call us time wasters! Meowth: I dare you to come down here and say that to our faces! A few hours later, Officer Jenny and a few other policemen escort Team Rocket, all in handcuffs, into a police wagon. The two groups exchange some choice words before the back door is finally closed. Jenny salutes Professor Oak and the others before getting on her motorcycle and following the wagon back to Viridian City. Tori: That takes care of that. Tenchi: Good riddance to those three. Oak: I agree. Tracey: Hey! What about Davis and Nurse Joy? Davis: (raising his eyebrow) What about us? There’s nothing about us! Oak: I need some time to take in what I’ve heard over the past few days. I’ll be up at the house tomorrow to reveal my decision. * * * * * * * * * * Day Seventeen Professor Oak is seen making his way up to the mansion. Tracey opens the front door for him. He leads the professor to the first floor recreation room, where the rest of the cast is waiting for them. The duo takes a seat. The professor then begins his speech. Oak: As you all know, there has been a lot of talk over the past few days about a possible affair between the Nurse Joy of Viridian City and our very own Davis here. Well, I’ve looked at all of the evidence, as well as the testimonials that both of them gave to me over the past two days. Tori: So, what’s the verdict? Oak: It’s just like I had first stated several days ago. There is no solid evidence that such a thing ever occurred while Davis was under her care. Therefore, I officially state that the rumor is indeed false. Davis: I told you all that nothing happened! I never lie! TK: (under his breath) He only lies when it’s not serious. Oak: Now that that’s over, I’m going to find out who started the rumor in the first place. I will be talking with all of you before this day is through. Davis, I’ll start with you. I’ll call the rest of you in later on. Everyone else exits the room while Davis talks with Professor Oak. Meanwhile, Tracey, Matt, and Ken move over to the living room to begin their own conversation over who spread the rumor in the first place. Tracey: That’s it. The professor officially confirmed it today! Ken: We can finally put this debate to rest. Matt: That only leaves us with one question to ask. So who brought it up? Tracey: Beats me. Ken: I have no idea. Matt: I hope that whoever it is, he admits it real fast before he gets into big trouble. Ken: (CC) I have a feeling Tai is going to be talking with the professor before the day’s up. Later that day... Oak: Tai, it’s come down to this. Either you or Li started the rumor. Which one is it? Tai: (sighs) It was me. Oak: I figured that you would assign the blame to someone else. The professor then realizes that Tai admitted that he did it. Oak: Hold on... did you say you did? Tai: Yes. But it wasn’t really a prank. I really did think Nurse Joy and Davis had something going on. Oak: If you thought so, then how about telling me what brought you to that conclusion? Tai: Well, the night that it happened, Ken and I talked to him about it. Davis continued to deny that such a thing happened, which made me wonder if Nurse Joy did something to him. But I guess that hunch proved to be false. Oak: It sure did. But why did you decide to admit the truth now instead of waiting in hopes that I would never discover the truth? Tai: I figured that if you found out about this that way, you’d probably kick me out of the house without hesitation. I like it here, professor, and I enjoy hanging out with all my friends. Not just the ones I knew beforehand, but the new ones I’ve made since coming here as well. By coming forward now and admitting that this never was supposed to be a prank, I hope that it would cushion the blow, that’s all. Oak: Well, I like your honesty. But even though you never intended for this to blow up into a big old rumor, you still must be disciplined for your actions. I will talk with Officer Jenny and give you my decision tomorrow. Day Eighteen The following day, Professor Oak had called Tai to his laboratory early in the morning. There, he finds Officer Jenny waiting for him. Tai: What’s going on? You’re not taking me to jail, are you? Jenny: (laughs) Oh heavens, no. Oak: We just decided that instead of kicking you out, you will go to Viridian City and apologize to Nurse Joy. You’ll then spend the day working with her. That is your punishment. Tai: (in surprise) That’s it? (coughs) Ahem, I mean that’s it? Oak: Yes. Why? Do you want more? Tai: No, that’s fine. Jenny: Let’s go. It’s a long trip to Viridian. Tai follows Jenny out to her motorcycle. She hands him a helmet. Snapping his on and taking a seat in the sidecar, Jenny gets on and starts the engine. She then starts driving out of town and towards the city, three hours away. Upon arrival in town, Officer Jenny drives straight to the Pokémon Center. There, she explains the situation to Nurse Joy before leaving to perform her own duties. Joy shows Tai around the place as she goes to get him some supplies. Joy: That was a very bad thing you did, young man. Tai: I’m sorry. Joy: You could have cost me my job! Tai: I was just going on what I thought was right. Better safe than sorry, right? Joy: Don’t try to flatter me, because it won’t work. Tai: I’m not trying to flatter you! Honest! I already have a girlfriend! Joy: Nevertheless, you’re going to make up for all of the grief you put me through. They finally reach the broom closet. Nurse Joy opens it and pulls out a mop and a water cart. She hands the mop to Tai and points down the hall. Joy: You can start by mopping the floor. Tai: You mean the whole floor? That’ll take an hour at least! Joy: You heard me, mister. That also includes all of the patient rooms. Tai: Yes ma’am. Joy: And don’t bother the patients! Tai: I won’t. Joy: I’ll be up front if you need anything. Joy leaves Tai to return to the front desk, as he begins his work. Tai: (VO) Ken was right. I’m regretting what I did right now. Meanwhile, back at the mansion... Matt: So Tai’s at the Pokémon Center in Viridian City? Izzy: Yep. That was his punishment for spreading that rumor. Joe: Serves him right. Izzy: Joe! Joe: No, seriously! He wouldn’t be in this mess if he had kept his hunch to himself. Matt: That’s true. Say, has he apologized to Davis yet? Izzy: I talked to Tracey, who talked to Professor Oak after Tai had left this morning. He said that Tai will apologize to Davis when he gets back. Matt: I see. Joe: So when will he be back? Izzy: Well, I was told by Tracey, who was told by Professor Oak... Matt: Izzy! Get to the point! Izzy: I was! Anyway, he said that he should be back by eight tonight. Joe: That means we don’t have to worry about cooking him lunch or dinner today. Matt: Good thing too. Tai eats like a horse! The trio laughs at Matt’s comment. Speaking of Tai, let’s go back to him in Viridian City... Tai: (mopping the floor) Man, this is so boring. He opens the door to room 22. Inside, he finds a Pidgey perched on a stand in the corner. The Pidgey is nursing an injured wing. Tai goes over to pet it. Tai: Nice little bird. Pidgey want a cracker? Pidgey jumps up from his perch and starts pecking Tai on the head. Tai yelps in pain as he drops his mop and runs out of the room. The Pidgey continues to chase him relentlessly around the Pokémon Center. Tai: Ow! Stop it! What’s wrong? You can’t take a joke? Ouch! Nurse Joy and a Chansey, meanwhile, are on their way to check up on another patient when they spot Tai and the pursuing Pidgey turn the corner and head towards them. Tai: Gangway! Ouch! Joy: (gasps) Oh my! Chansey: Chansey? As Tai runs by, Joy pulls out a small dish of birdseed. Pidgey notices it and decides to stop pecking Tai. The Pokémon flies from Tai’s head over to the dish, which is now resting in Joy’s hand. Tai breathes a sigh of relief as he walks back to Joy. Chansey sees a few strands of dark brown hair on the floor. She picks it up and offers it to Tai. Chansey: Chansey! Tai: (taking the strands) Thanks. Joy: What happened? Tai: I was just trying to pet it, and all of a sudden it decided to attack me. Joy: Which room were you in? Tai: Twenty-two, I think. Joy: (to herself) I knew I should have put that warning sign on the door. (to Tai) This Pidgey here doesn’t like humans much. Tai: So why isn’t it attacking you? Joy: (giggles) It’s a long story. One that took me three weeks before I could earn this one’s trust. Tai: Three weeks! Just what happened to his wing anyway? Joy: (sighs) Some poachers were hanging out along Route 3 a few weeks ago, shooting Pidgey and Pidgeotto for game. This Pidgey was one of the lucky ones. He only suffered a broken wing. Some of his family and friends weren’t as lucky. Tai: Oh. (apologetically) I’m sorry. Joy: (smiles) Don’t be. It wasn’t your fault. Tai: But why are there people like that? Can’t they learn to live in harmony with the Pokémon? Joy: Most people can, but then there are people like those poachers, who never listen to reason. (hands Pidgey to Chansey) Take it back to its room, okay? Chansey: (salutes Joy with her free hand) Chansey! Chansey then runs off to return the Pidgey to his perch. Joy then begins to walk towards one of the patient rooms. Tai decides to follow her. Tai: Look, I know it’s probably too late to change what happened, but I truly am sorry for everything these past few days. Joy: I know you are. I forgive you. Tai: Does that mean I can go back to Pallet Town? Joy: (stopping and turning towards Tai) Not so fast! I may be forgiving, but I’m not stupid. Get back to mopping the floor! Tai: (sighs) Yes ma’am. Tai carries off his mop back to where he was working while Joy continues down the hall. Night Eighteen Tai enters the mansion just before nine o’clock, tired and sleepy after all the work he had to do. Davis and Matt are waiting for him. Matt: So, how did it go? Tai: (closing the front door) Man, you won’t believe what she made me do. I had to mop the floor, feed the patients, fill out paperwork, answer phone calls, and keep trainers calm while their Pokémon were in the operating room. Davis: All of that? Tai: Yeah. Matt: That’s a lot! And you were able to handle all of it? Tai: Yep. I’m just glad to be back at the mansion. (turns to Davis) Oh, and Davis, I’m sorry for putting you through all of this. Davis: It’s not a problem. You know, it got me thinking. Matt: You? Thinking? Davis: (ignoring Matt’s comment) Anyway, I began to wonder what my life would be like if I took care of Pokémon just like Nurse Joy. Tai: You want her job? Man, good luck! That stuff’s not easy! Davis: I know. But it looks so fun. Matt: What about the Chansey? Aren’t you afraid of them? Davis: (shakes his head) Not anymore. They’re really nice once you get used to them. Tai: (laughs) Well, if that’s what you really want, then I guess another visit to Viridian City is in order. Davis: No way! I think I’ll lay low for awhile. There’s no way I want to go through that again. Tai: I hear you. Matt: Say Tai, what do you want to do tonight? Tai: (yawns) I’m kinda beat. I think I’ll hit the sack early. Tori’s not up there, is he? Davis: I think he’s on the computer in the recreation room. Tai: Okay. See you guys tomorrow. Matt: Okay. Good night! Tai heads up the stairs and goes towards his room. He goes in and closes the door behind him. * * * * * * * * * * Day Nineteen On this cloudy day, the sixteen boys are heading out of Pallet Town. Ash and Gary are leading the way. Brock is right with them, holding a piece of paper. Gary: Why are we out here by Route 1? Ash: The paper just said to meet Professor Oak out here. I hope we don’t run into any trainers. I don’t have my Pokémon with me. Gary: Ha! Like you’d be able to beat anyone that comes through here. Ash: Take that back! Gary: Never! Brock: (getting between the two) Okay, break it up! Can we avoid fighting for once? The group spots Professor Oak waiting for them right at the start of Route 1. Oak: Good morning fellows! We’ve got a little rescue mission planned for your prize challenge today. Tracey: Rescue mission? Oak: (nodding in agreement) Yes. We’ll start by picking teams of four. Rather, you’ll pick your own teams today. [Team Assignments: Team 1 - Gary, Ken, Tai, Li Team 2 - Tenchi, Matt, Tracey, Brock Team 3 - Cody, Joe, Ash, Richie Team 4 - TK, Tori, Izzy, Davis] Tenchi: So what was this about a rescue mission? Oak: Well, it’s more like a search and capture rather than a rescue mission. You see, two girls have volunteered to be our targets for today. They are currently three miles away, somewhere among the trees of Route 1. They are equidistant from your current position, but they are not in the same place. Elsewhere on Route 1, one of the girls is looking at a map. She has brown hair, which is tied up into two pigtails. She is currently wearing her school uniform. She smiles cheerfully as she glances at the camera and then at her surroundings. Chelsea: (CC) When Miss McKenzie told us we were going on a vacation, she didn’t mention anything like this! Two Pidgey fly by right in front of Chelsea, scaring her so much that she screams in fear. Chelsea: Hey! I want out of here! Over on another part of Route 1, a girl with cyan colored hair tied up in two long ponytails is sitting patiently on a log. She too is examining a map. Wearing her traditional housework kimono, she is trying to figure out how to get out of the forest. Sasami: (CC) If this is what Miss McKenzie defines as a vacation, I’m afraid to find out what she calls work. Back at the other end of Route 1... Oak: The rules are simple. This challenge has a one-hour time limit. That’s how long you’ll have to find one of those two girls. Once you find one, the whole team must bring her back here to the starting line. Any team that successfully does that earns a shot at this challenge’s prize... a Sony Playstation 2. TK: (CC) I’ve heard that those things are very hard to get, so winning one of those would be swell! Li: (CC) Who has time to play video games anyway? If I win it, I’ll probably give it to that stuffed animal of Sakura’s. Oak: Remember, the whole team must stay together at all times. Good luck to you all. Soon after, the challenge begins. The four teams head off into different directions. At the other end of Route 1, Sasami and Chelsea have also been given the signal to begin. Chelsea: (CC) According to this map, we’re supposed to head to this place called Pallet Town. I hope they have hot tubs there, because I’m probably going to need one to lie in after this is done with. Sasami: (CC) This is ridiculous! Miss McKenzie could’ve just told us we were participating in something like this. I would have come better prepared for this. In the meantime, five minutes have already passed. Team 1 is making their way in the direction of Chelsea’s starting point, although they have no knowledge of that. They’re just going along and hoping that they’ll get lucky and find her. Li: This is pointless! If we’re going to find one of those girls, we need to come up with a better strategy. Ken: How can we? Without any maps, pictures, or any hints as to where these girls might be approximately, there’s nothing we can do but run around wildly and hope that we run into them. Tai: Yeah. I say we need to stop spending time sitting here and starting spending more time finding those girls! Gary: For someone who seems to have no idea of what’s going on, you’re actually making sense. Tai: Thanks... I think. Ken: Let’s go there. The quartet continues their run, with Li bringing up the rear. Li: (CC) I still say this is a bad idea, but I have no choice but to go along with it. Along Route 1, Team 2 has decided to stay along the path and search for the girls there. Tracey: Girls can’t stand running in the forest, especially with those wild Pokémon around. Brock: Right. So they’ll keep along the paths, ducking behind the trees only when needed. Tenchi: Besides, they’re all probably scared of the bugs and other poisonous creatures they might see. Matt: You guys are actually on to something. There’s no way to lose with this strategy! Brock: And then when she appears, she knows that there’s no place to go and she’ll fall right into my waiting arms. Tenchi: (sweatdrops) Oh brother. Matt: You think that after nearly three weeks he‘d learn to stop doing things like this, but no... Team 3 seems to be taking the conservative route, going through the forest yet keeping the path in close sight. In fact, they seem to be talking with each other rather than looking for the girls. Joe: I am amazed that we’re all on the same team. Cody: I had a hunch that we’d work well together. Let’s hope my hunch is correct. Richie: Yeah. I really want to win this one guys. Ash: Me too. Joe: Say, is it just me, or does anyone else think that taking a girl for hostage is wrong? Ash: Relax Joe! It’s just a game! Cody: It’s not like they’re going to become our personal slaves forever. Elsewhere, Team 4 is waiting patiently about half a mile from Pallet Town. Izzy is busy inspecting a trap that Tori, TK, and Davis are setting up for their prey. Izzy: We may be taking a page out of another cartoon’s book, but you have to admit that this can’t fail. Tori: I still say we just go out and look for them. Davis: Why should we when this trap will do all the work for us? TK: This can’t fail! They step back to reveal a pile of leaves and twigs covering a pit three feet deep. Izzy: That should do it. No one will be able to tell the difference. Davis: No kidding. I can’t tell where it is anymore either. Davis takes a few steps forward, right onto the trap. He screams as he falls into the pit. His teammates run over to pull him out as they hear Davis hit bottom. Davis: Can someone get me out of here? TK: (glancing down at Davis) What was that? We can’t hear you. Davis: Stop fooling around TC! Get me out! Tori: (kneeling down next to TK) Hold your horses! I’m coming. Half an hour later, Chelsea seems to be edging ever closer to Professor Oak’s position and the finish line. She seems to have everything under control. She comes out right onto the Route 1 path leading to Pallet Town. Chelsea: (examining her map) If I keep going at my current pace, I should be able to make it there in twenty minutes. Let’s just hope nobody’s decided to walk up the path. At that exact moment, Tenchi leads his team up that very path. They turn the corner and spot Chelsea about fifty feet in front of them. Tenchi: Isn’t that one of them? Chelsea: Me and my big mouth... Brock: She looks a little young to me. Tracey: Who cares? We’ve got a job to do! Matt: Let’s get her! Chelsea ducks back into the forest. The four boys head in after her and give chase. Matt, the fastest out of the four, quickly chases her down. He tackles her down at the knees, sending them both falling to the ground. Tenchi, Brock, and Tracey reach them just as the two of them struggle to get up. Chelsea frees herself of Matt’s grip and glares angrily at him. Chelsea: Look at what you did! She points to her right knee, which is now bleeding after it had brushed against a sharp rock on the ground. Matt: I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. Chelsea: This is just a game! What is wrong with you? Matt: I said I’m sorry! What more do you want from me? Brock: Why can’t you be more sensitive? Matt: Huh? Tenchi: She’s just a little girl, for crying out loud. Tracey takes his bandanna off and ties it around Chelsea’s wound. Tracey: There you go. Chelsea: Thanks. Tenchi: We’d better get her back so we can get that wound treated. Tracey: Good idea. (to Chelsea) Can you walk on that leg? Chelsea: (grimacing a little in pain) I think so. Brock: We can make it back in time if we hurry. Matt follows far behind the group as Tracey helps Chelsea back to the path. Tenchi and Brock lead the way. Tenchi: I never knew Matt was like that. Brock: Me neither. I’m disappointed. Tenchi: Aren’t we all. That was unnecessary. Brock: I’m not talking about Matt. Tenchi: Then what are you talking about? Brock: I’m disappointed that she’s way too young for me! Tenchi facefaults in disbelief. Chelsea, who had heard the whole conversation, starts laughing. Tracey just rolls his eyes. Tracey: Unbelievable. Chelsea: (smiling) Talk about striking out when it comes to romance. The group makes it back to Professor Oak just as time expires. None of the other teams are in sight. Neither is Sasami. The professor then begins examining Chelsea’s right knee. Oak: It doesn’t look too bad. A little bit of disinfectant and a bandage is all you need. Chelsea: That’s a relief. Eventually, all the teams make it back empty handed. Tenchi’s team begins to celebrate... except for Matt, who is a little saddened by Chelsea’s reaction to him. Sasami then appears, coming out of the forest. Sasami: I’m not too late, am I? Oak: I’m afraid you are Sasami. Sasami looks over and sees Chelsea sitting down on the ground with a bandanna around her right knee. Sasami: (running over to her friend) Oh Chelsea, what happened? Chelsea: I’ll tell you later. Right now I’ll just be glad to get some rest. As the two girls converse, some of the other boys are getting their first look at them. And boy, are they in love. Richie: (pointing towards Sasami) Isn’t that that girl from Tenchi’s house? You know, the kid? Ash: I think it is. Izzy: She’s just like I imagined! Ash: I like the other girl more, though. TK: (blushes) Wow, she’s cute. Li: Are you talking about Chelsea? She’s okay. Richie: Okay? She’s gorgeous! You think she’ll give me her number? TK: As if. She’s going to give it to me. Ash: Don’t you already have a girlfriend? TK: Kari’s not my girlfriend! Izzy: None of you stand a chance. They’ll both fall head over heels for me. As the boys continue to argue, Chelsea and Sasami look over and wonder what all the hubbub is about. Chelsea: What’s up with them? Sasami: I think they’re talking about us. Chelsea: Oh, I get it. (winks) Why don’t we have a little fun while we’re here? Sasami: Good idea. The girls follow Professor Oak and the boys down towards Pallet Town, where they would end up spending the night. End Episode Nine Oak: (VO) In our next episode, we reach the halfway point... Tori: Only three more weeks and then I can finally get out of here. Richie: And so that’s how I befriended Zippo, my Charmander. Chelsea: Do you have him with you? I’d love to see it! Oak: (VO) Are Chelsea and Sasami just playing around, or are they getting a bit too attached... Ken: The last time I saw those two, they went up to his bedroom. Tenchi: They’d better not be doing what I think they’re doing. Oak: (VO) But when the girls leave to return to Reedington, all romance is off... Izzy: I can’t believe she’s leaving already! Oak: (VO) That is, until they follow them there for dinner... Davis: Isn’t the Reedington district the rich part of Tokyo? Tracey: That’s what everyone wants you to think. I like to think of it as a small suburb of the city. Oak: (VO) And then ask a few of the girls out on a blind date... Brock: Why can’t we take her out? Joe: Because we say so. Oak: (VO) The sparks are going to fly in the tenth episode of Roomies, next time... Copyright Date: 7/10/01 Voting Rules Reminders: 1. You can vote for up to four boys/girls at once. 2.
