Yeah, it’s time for the second half of the boys’ edition to begin! You know, they say that girls are more emotional than boys are. Through the first three weeks, it seems to be holding true here. That might change after this night is over! The boys have to treat their girls right tonight if their team is to win the fourth physical challenge. Forget compatibility... just worry about pleasing your date! Which teams will succeed in doing just that? Read on! Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters and I never will. * * * * * * * * * * Oak: (VO) On the last episode of Roomies, the boys’ edition... Chelsea: (winks) You’re afraid of little ol’ me? Ash and TK both develop goofy smiles on their faces. They walk over and take seats on opposite sides of her, knocking Richie out of the way in the process. TK: I don’t care if Kari hates me for doing this, ‘cause I’m enjoying every moment! Ash: I’m so glad Misty doesn’t like me. I don’t feel the least bit guilty about flirting! Oak: (VO) Could Chelsea, from the girls’ house in Reedington, be looking for a good time? Chelsea: TK and I are going to have a little fun, k? Bye now! TK: Huh? Since when? Chelsea: (smirks) Since now. Let’s go! TK: (waves goodbye as Chelsea drags him away) Bye! The two of them head up the stairs. They make their way towards TK’s bedroom. Upon arriving there, though, they find Li and Tracey leaning against a closed door. Richie: What are you two doing here? Tracey: (raising a finger to his mouth) Shhhhhh! Li: (pointing to the door) TK and Chelsea are in there. Ash: He’d better not be making out with my girl! Richie: What do you mean your girl? She’s my girl! Li: Will you two give it a rest? Tracey: Be quiet! I can hear them from inside! The four of them lean against the door. They can clearly hear TK and Chelsea from inside the room. Chelsea: (moaning) Oooooooohhhhhhh yeah, a little bit lower. That’s right. TK: (moaning) Yeeeeeeesssssss! That hits the spot. Oak: (VO) Looks like it. At least the house is back to normal after Chelsea and Sasami leave... Joe: (reading aloud) Pack your belongings! You’re heading to Tokyo! Izzy: I should’ve figured that we were going somewhere! Oak: (VO) Well, almost... Brock: (CC) This has got to be the happiest day of my life! I’ve finally got a date! Oak: (VO) Onward to Tokyo! The boys have a date with destiny in their fourth physical challenge... Brock: Why can’t we take her out? Joe: Because we say so. Tori: Why don’t you tell your team that we picked Mimi first? Tenchi: I beg to differ. We were here first, so we should have the right to choose Mimi. Izzy: I can’t believe you’d be so low as to take her away from us. Tai: Hey, stop complaining! There are enough girls to go around. Oak: (VO) The stage is set and the flares are flying! They have no idea what to expect, or what to do to win the challenge... that’s half the fun. For reality purposes, we’ve asked the four groups to depart the hotel at different times so that they wouldn’t arrive at the mansion at the same time. We’ll start with the group of Davis, Cody, Richie, and Ash... The four boys in question arrive at the mansion gate. Before heading up the driveway, though, they stop in their tracks. Cody: What’s up? Richie: I think only one of should go up. Ash: Why’s that? Davis: Yeah! Richie: We don’t want to scare her. Cody: Okay, so if one of us goes up alone, who’s it gonna be? Davis: Richie should go. He’s the one who suggested it. Richie: (pointing to himself) Me? Okay, if you insist. Can I just see her picture again, though? I forgot what she looks like. Cody pulls out Sakura’s picture from his pocket. He hands it to Richie. Richie then makes his way up the driveway. Richie: (VO) Okay, just relax. Just because you’re about to pick up a cute girl doesn’t mean you have to be nervous about it. There’s nothing to be worried about. Richie goes up and rings the doorbell. After a few seconds, the door opens. Chelsea appears in the doorway. All of a sudden, Richie begins to sweat uncontrollably. Richie: (CC) It’s Chelsea again! Chelsea: Hello! Richie: (CC) I’m so nervous right now that I’m wetting my pants. Chelsea: Richie right? That’s your name, isn’t it? Richie: (VO) Come on, say something! Chelsea: (glancing Richie over curiously) Hello! Are you awake in there? Richie: (VO) Say something, you dork! She’s staring at you! Chelsea: (now waving her hand in front of Richie’s face) Are you there? Richie: Hi... Chelsea: (breathes a sigh of relief) Thank goodness. For a minute, I thought you had turned into a statue. Richie: Yeah. Imagine that. Richie pulls his collar away from his neck to wipe away all of the sweat that had formed there. Chelsea: Are you okay? Do you want something to drink? Richie: No. I’m fine. Chelsea: Come in then. I’m sure the girls are on their way down. Richie steps past Chelsea and into the mansion. Chelsea: It seems like only yesterday that we were last talking to each other. Richie: It was yesterday. Anyway, me and my team are here to pick up our date. Chelsea: And who would that be? The two turn towards the quartet that is coming down the stairs. The girls seem to be nervous as Richie motions to point at one of them. Chelsea: So, who’s it going to be? Chelsea watches as he points to Sakura. Sakura then points at herself. Sakura: Me? Richie: Yep. You. You are Sakura, right? Mimi: (bubbly) Yeah, she’s Sakura alright! Giselle: Thank goodness for that. Sakura: (sarcastically) Thanks a lot, you two. Sakura steps forward towards Richie’s outstretched hand. He takes hold of her hand, kisses it, and then kneels beside her. Richie: Miss Avalon, it is my pleasure to be one of your four dates tonight. Miss Avalon, may I escort you out to the others? Sakura: (smiles) Sure. And you don’t have to call me Miss Avalon. Just call me Sakura. Richie: (getting up) Of course, Sakura. Sakura waves goodbye to the others as Richie leads her out. As they leave, though, Chelsea whispers something into Sakura’s ear. Once outside, Richie guides Sakura down to the others. Sakura: (waving to the others) Hello! Davis: Let’s get going! We have a lot to do! Richie: Ready Sakura? Sakura: (nods) Yep. Let’s hit the town! I can show you all the sights. Ash: Huh? Sakura: I live here, remember? Cody: Oh yeah, that’s right. The group of four walks down to the gate. As they get there, though, Tori, Joe, Tai, and Matt are on their way up. Tori: Hey! That’s my sister! Sakura: Tori? Davis: Don’t sweat it, man. We’ll take good care of her. Sakura: Tori, I’ll be fine! Tori: I’ll be watching you! Ash: We’ll bring your sister back in one piece. Don’t worry about it! With that, the two groups separate. Tori’s group makes their way up to the house. A few minutes later, they leave with Mimi in tow. A few minutes later, Tenchi, Izzy, Brock, and Li head up the driveway and towards the mansion. Ringing the doorbell, it is opened by Chelsea yet again. Chelsea: Okay guys, which is it? Giselle or Sora? Brock: (jumps back in fear) Giselle? Tenchi: What’s wrong with Giselle? Brock: I’ll tell you later. Li: We’re here for Sora. Sora: (moving Chelsea aside) I see. Izzy: (waves to her) Hey Sora! How have you been? Sora: I’m fine. Let’s just get this over with. Sora walks down the driveway. The guys all shrug their shoulders and follow her. Finally, TK, Tracey, Gary, and Ken arrive at the mansion. Gary rings the doorbell. But this time, Giselle answers it personally. Gary: Giselle, I presume? Giselle: You’re late! Don’t you know how much I hate waiting? Gary: Give us a break! We’re only half an hour later! Giselle: And that’s half an hour you four just lost on your date! Giselle closes the door behind her and walks past the guys. TK: Gee, I can see she’s not happy to see us. Tracey: Oh well. Here goes. Ken: I told you we should have picked Yolei. Gary: This isn’t a fantasy dream date! Let’s just get this over with! The guys follow her down the driveway. * * * * * * * * * * Tai, Matt, Joe, Tori, and Mimi are walking along the busy night streets of downtown Tokyo. They are enjoying the sights and sounds of the nearby night clubs, beeping horns, bright lights, and yappy pedestrians. Mimi included... Mimi: Wow! I can’t believe how lively the city gets at night! I mean, I’ve been downtown a couple of times back in New York, but it feels much more relaxing to finally go out in the city that I grew up in. Say, do you think we can get into some of the nightclubs? It can’t be that hard. Tai: Mimi! Mimi: I’m just kidding. Tori: We couldn’t get into a nightclub even if we wanted to. I’m the oldest one here, but I’m only seventeen. Mimi: We could always get fake IDs. Joe: Mimi! Mimi: What? Joe: I’m surprised at you! Mimi: Just because I have a fake ID? Tai: You have a fake ID? Mimi: (putting her finger over her mouth) Shhh! You want the whole world to know? Matt: Mimi, you are one bad girl! Mimi: No I’m not! Tori: Getting fake IDs at your age. How old are you, ten? Mimi: (screaming) I’m going on thirteen next month, pal! Tori: Well, excuse me. Mimi: Why you... Joe: (putting his hands on Mimi’s shoulders) Okay Mimi, calm down. Let’s just forget about this, okay? Mimi: (turns to Joe and smiles) Okay. Tai: Wow. That was quick. Matt: Tell me about it. Mimi: Anyway, there’s got to be some place we can hang out. How about Tokyo Tower? Or that new place called the Pokémon Center? Say, since we’re in the Reedington district, how about that shop called Twin Bells? I’ve always wanted to go there! I’ve heard they’ve got the cutest plush animals in town! Chelsea told me all about the place. I’ve been meaning to visit, but with all of these challenges and things like that, I’ve never had the time. I can’t believe I’m finally getting to go there! It’s so amazing! You want to know how amazing it is? Let me count the ways! Let’s see, there’s... Matt and Tai were traveling a few feet behind the others. They were talking with each other. Matt: This is nice, isn’t it? Tai: This is kind of a relief. Now if only Mimi would just shut up. Matt: I know we haven’t seen her in a long time, but that doesn’t mean she can yap her mouth off for the entire date. Tai: I wonder how Tori’s taking it. He’s never been around Mimi as long as we have. Matt: Why don’t we make a bet on it? I say that he’ll yell at Mimi before the night’s over. Tai: Twenty bucks and I’m in. Matt: Deal. Tai and Matt shake hands, squeezing very hard. Tai: I’m gonna win! Matt: We’ll see about that! Mimi: What are you two talking about? The two turn and see that the others had stopped... and that Mimi was staring right at them, with her hands on her hips. Tai and Matt gulp in fear. Tai and Matt: Nothing. Nothing at all. The two slowly walk past Mimi, grinning all the way. Mimi continues to glare at them as Tori and Joe scratch their heads in curiosity. Meanwhile, Giselle was trying to make the best of her date. She was still busy deciding whether or not to help her team or not. Ken, Gary, Tracey, and TK, walking right behind her, are also watching her very closely. TK: What do you think guys? Do you think she’ll help us? Gary: If you ask me, I don’t trust her one bit. Tracey: Come on guys! Let’s give her a chance! Ken: But how? How can we get her to trust us? Tracey: (smiles) Leave that to me. He catches up with Giselle and taps her on the shoulder. She stops in her tracks and turns around to face him. Giselle: What do you want? Tracey: You know, I’m sorry that we got off on the wrong foot. Let’s start again. (sticks out his hand) I’m Tracey Sketchit. A pleasure to meet you. Giselle: (sighs) Oh, alright. (sticks her hand out as well) I’m Giselle Gravelpot. Tracey: (shaking hands with her) Pleased to meet you. Giselle pulls her hand away from Tracey. Tracey: See? That wasn’t too bad, was it? Giselle: I understand that you’re trying to be friendly and all, but if you dare make one move at me, I’ll shove my high heels up your ass! Got it? Tracey: (jumping back in fear) Yes ma’am. No flirting. I got it. Giselle turns away and starts walking off again. The other guys walk alongside him, snickering all the way. Gary: (mocking Tracey) Leave it to me. (in his regular voice) You’re lucky she didn’t slap you. Tracey: I’d like to see you do better. Gary stands there silently. Tracey: I thought so. TK: If we don’t get on her good side fast, we’re going to lose! Ken: There’s got to be some way to earn her trust. In another part of the city, Ash, Richie, Cody, and Davis are following Sakura into the business district. They walk by a nearby convenience store. Sakura: Hey, I just remembered! I was supposed to buy a hair band for Madison! (reaches into her shirt pocket) But I don’t have any money. Davis: So? Just get it later! Ash: Yeah! You’ll have time to get it later! Sakura: (pleading) Please? Richie: I don’t know... Cody: What’s wrong with you guys? This is important to her! (pulls out a few dollar bills from his pocket) I’ll take care of it. Sakura: (smiles and goes over to hug Cody) Thank you! Madison will be so happy! Ash, Richie, and Davis gasp in surprise. Sakura lets go of Cody. He smiles as he trots into the store and comes out a few minutes later with three hair bands. He hands them to Sakura. Sakura: Thanks Cody! Cody: You’re welcome! Sakura grabs Cody’s hand and leads him down the street. Ash, Richie, and Davis are still shocked over what they’ve just witnessed. In yet another part of the city, Tenchi, Brock, Li, Izzy, and Sora are heading towards King Penguin Park. The boys are all watching Sora very closely... especially Brock. He hasn’t been able to take his eyes off of her since they picked her up from the mansion. Brock: (VO) Okay Brock, whenever you’re ready. You know Sora’s waiting for you. Li: Why are we going to King Penguin Park anyway? Tenchi: Well, I thought that it would be romantic to have a little picnic under the stars. Izzy: Technically, it’s a little too dark tonight for that. Sora: I love the idea! Let’s do it! Tenchi: Okay then. I think we’ll set up... Brock: (interrupting) On the hill. I think it looks lovely up on the hill. Wouldn’t you agree? Sora: (not interested in Brock) I guess. Tenchi leads the way into the park, followed by Sora, Brock, Izzy, and Li. Back with Giselle and her suitors... Giselle: (CC) You know, maybe I’ve been a little cruel. I should give these suckers a chance to win this little challenge of theirs. Besides, it’ll make the night pass faster. Gary: Hey! Stop walking so fast! Giselle: (ignoring Gary) Beautiful night, isn’t it? Gary: Not really. Giselle: (coughs) Ahem. Gary: What’s wrong? Got a cold or something? Giselle: (rolls her eyes) Don’t I look cute in the light? Gary: Not really. Giselle: (throws her hands up in frustration) Oooohhh! I give up! Gary: (as Giselle starts to walk away from him) What? What did I do? Behind the duo... Tracey: What’s up with her? TK: Beats me. I think Gary might have pissed her off. Ken: Might have is an understatement. I think he did. Back with Mimi and her group... Mimi: Say, I have an idea! Tai: Now what? Mimi: I just remembered that I have a few things I need to pick up at the store. Matt: Like what? Mimi: A hair bow, shaving cream, and some lipstick. Tai: Hair bow? Tori: Shaving cream? Joe: (gulps) Lipstick? Matt: What for? Mimi: The hair bow’s for this friend of mine back in the states. The lipstick is for me, of course. You know, in case I need it tonight. Joe faints on the spot. Tai immediately kneels down to try and wake him up. Tori rolls his eyes in embarrassment, while Matt looks at Mimi with unwavering eyes. Matt: And the shaving cream? Mimi: What is this? Twenty questions? The shaving cream’s for my legs, stupid! Matt: Stupid? Where do you get off calling me stupid? Mimi: I’ve got to keep my legs silky smooth! You think anyone would want to date me if I had hairy legs? Tori: I think you’ve done a good job. I don’t see a single hair on your legs. Mimi: (jumping up and down) Yeah! That’s one! Matt: Huh? Tori: One. Mimi: Never mind. Let’s just head for the store, okay? Matt, Mimi, and Tori walk off. After successfully waking up Joe, Tai drags him along after them. Joe: What happened? Tai: You fainted, that’s all. Joe: What for? Tai: I’ll tell you later, because I’m not dragging you home if you faint again! Over at King Penguin Park, Tenchi and his group are lying down on the grass at the top of a hill. They are looking up at the stars. Sora: This was a great idea, Tenchi. Tenchi: Yeah! The stars are shining bright tonight! Izzy: I agree. I can even see Jupiter from here! Li: That’s impossible! Izzy: It is possible. Jupiter is lined up right with our planet at this very moment. (points to the northeast) That small red dot over there is Jupiter. I’m so glad that it’s close enough that we don’t need a telescope to see it. Tenchi: It sure looks beautiful. Sora: It sure does. Brock: (going up to Sora) If you think that’s impressive, then check this out! He points right at a random star in the center of the sky. Brock: You see, that may be the prettiest star in the sky, but it’s nothing compared to you my dear. With that, he takes Sora’s hands and clasps his hands around hers. Sora quickly snatches her hands away. Izzy: Um, Brock, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Brock: Huh? Why not? Sora: It’s personal. I don’t have to tell you. Brock: You’re not engaged, are you? I don’t see any rings on your fingers... Sora gets up and starts walking down the hill. Sora: I’m fourteen. Getting engaged at my age is just plain nonsense. Brock: Then what? Sora: (ignoring Brock) I’m getting tired. Let’s go home. Tenchi: (getting up from his seat) Well Sora, if you say so. (to Li and Izzy) Come on guys. Tenchi walks past Brock and follows Sora down the hill. Li: (commenting as he goes by Brock) Nice going. We’ll be lucky if she even gives us a favorable rating now. Brock: But... Izzy: (stopping next to Brock) Leave her be, Brock. Sora’s got a lot on her mind. I should know. I’ve known her for several years. With that, Izzy continues down the hill. Brock follows him, sulking all the way down. Brock: (CC) I don’t get it. Why doesn’t Sora like me? I’ve done everything to impress her, but nothing’s working. Meanwhile, Sakura and her dates are playing at a local arcade. Ash and Richie are off playing a fighting game, which Ash seems to excel at for some reason. Cody is at a pinball machine, racking up a high score. That leaves Sakura and Davis, who are playing a racing game. Davis: And Motimiya steams out of the final turn. He’s heading for the finish line! Yes! He does it! A career best second place finish! And the crowd goes wild! Sakura, sitting next to him, applauds with joy. Sakura: That was great, Davis! Not bad! Davis: Sometimes I amaze myself. Sakura: It’s too bad that the only person that beat you was me. Davis: Huh? Sakura points to her screen. Davis looks at it and sees the words ‘You won!’ flashing onto the screen. Davis: (snaps his fingers) Rats! Sakura: Don’t worry about it. There’s no way you could’ve beaten me anyway. I’m an expert at this game. Davis: You know, I would’ve beaten you if I hadn’t been watching you the whole time. I have to admit, there were some things you did that I didn’t even know you could do! Sakura: (giggles) It’s all in the wrist. Here, let me show you. Sakura leans towards Davis and sticks her right wrist out towards him. Using her left hand, she began touching her wrist in certain places. Davis follows suit. Davis: Wow! Your wrist is pretty limber. Sakura: I guess I have gymnastics and cheerleading to thank for that. Davis suddenly gives Sakura a quick peck on her right cheek. Sakura begins to blush furiously. She then jumps out of her seat. Sakura: Um, I have to go to the restroom. Would you excuse me Davis? Davis: Sure... As Sakura runs off, Davis begins to think to himself. Davis: (VO) What did I do? Did I scare her off by kissing her? Oh man, what now? I probably blew our chance of winning this challenge right out of the water? Davis watches silently as Sakura disappears from sight. * * * * * * * * * * It’s almost eleven o’clock at night. At the front gate, Sora waves goodbye to Tenchi, Izzy, Li, and Brock. Sora: Thanks for the evening, guys. Tenchi: I guess this is goodbye. Sora: Bye Tenchi! Izzy: I’ll see you back in Odaiba in a few weeks. Sora: Okay Izzy. Take care of yourself. Li: I’m sorry that this evening wasn’t to your liking. Sora: Oh Li, you don’t have to apologize. It wasn’t your fault anyway. With that, Sora opens the gate and walks up the driveway. Brock just stares at her figure as she disappears from sight. Brock: (crying) Man, she didn’t even say anything to me! Tenchi: Come on, Brock. She wasn’t interested in you at all. Just forget about her. There will be plenty of other fish in the sea. Tenchi drags Brock away, with Li and Izzy following close behind. Moments later, Giselle and her group arrive at the gate. TK: Shall we walk you up to the door, Giselle? Giselle: I can handle it myself. Gary: You don’t know when to keep your mouth shut, do you? Giselle: Like you do? I haven’t heard one intelligent thing from you all night! Ken: (getting between the two) Break it up! Is this how you want to end the night? Tracey: (to Giselle) I’m sorry about my friends. Giselle: (sighs) It’s okay. Gary: (with Ken holding him back) It’s okay? Yeah right... Ken: Now Gary... Tracey takes Giselle by the hand and kisses it softly. Tracey: If I’m ever near Pokémon Tech, I’ll be sure to look you up. Giselle: (pulling her hand anyway) Sure thing. You do that. (under her breath) Creep. Giselle opens the gate and starts walking up the driveway. The guys start to walk away. Gary: Good riddance. TK: You know, Giselle wasn’t as friendly as I’d thought she’d be. Tracey: Maybe, but we weren’t doing anything to make her comfortable either. Ken: At least we have some dating experience now. We can make up for it on our next date. TK: (smiles) That’s what I like about you, Ken. You’re always talking about the future. Ken: I don’t always talk about the future. TK: Well, it sounded like a good thing to say at the time. Tracey: Who cares? We all agree that it was sound advice. Let’s get back the hotel so we can get a good night’s rest. Gary: (CC) If I ever meet another girl as annoying as Giselle again, it’ll be too soon. A few minutes later, Ash, Richie, Cody, Davis, and Sakura arrive at the front gate. The group opens the gate and walks all the way to the front door. Once there, Sakura bids them farewell. Sakura: (holding up a plastic bag) Thanks for the hair bands, guys! Cody: You’re welcome, Sakura! Richie: You looked good tonight. I wish all girls were as cute and sweet as you are. Sakura: (blushing) Stop, you’re making me blush! Ash: Is there anything else we can do before we say goodbye? Sakura: Now that you mention it, I think there is one other thing. Davis: What? Sakura sits down on the steps leading up to the door and takes off her right shoe and sock. The guys look down and see a small red bump in the middle of her foot. Sakura: I think my shoe was on a little too tight. Could you check to make sure I didn’t accidentally cut myself? Richie: (kneeling down) Certainly. Richie examines the foot for a few seconds before looking back at Sakura. Richie: It doesn’t look like it’s bleeding. Does it still hurt? Sakura: Yeah, a little. You know, whenever I got hurt, my mom would always kiss me wherever I had hurt myself. Richie: Then allow me to play the role of mother. Richie kisses Sakura on the foot once, right where the sore spot is. Sakura smiles as Richie gets up and joins the others. Sakura quickly slips her sock and shoe back on. She gives each of the guys a quick peck on the cheek. Sakura: Thanks for the wonderful night! I hope we can do it again some time! With that, she opens the front door and goes in. The boys begin their walk down the driveway. Davis: (sighs) That was the best night out I’ve ever had! Richie: I hear you! You don’t meet too many girls like her out on the road. Ash: I should know. That girl who always travels with me never acts like Sakura. Cody: It’s too bad we won’t get to see her again. Davis, Richie, Ash, and Cody: (sighs) Yeah. Tori: What are you four sighing about? The four look up and see Tori staring right at them. Davis, Richie, Ash, and Cody: Um, nothing at all! We were on our way back to the hotel, so see ya! The four quickly race off and disappear from sight. Tori shrugs his shoulders as Tai, Matt, Joe, and Mimi come up beside him. Tai: What’s with them? Tori: Beats me. Mimi: Well, it was nice to hang out with you guys. See you around! Mimi walks to the front door, opens it, and goes inside the mansion. Tai, Tori, Joe, and Matt stand there, dumbfounded. Matt: That’s it? Joe: I guess so. Tori: Some night. Tai: Speaking of which, someone owes me twenty bucks! Matt: Huh? Oh, darn it... Matt pulls a twenty out of his pocket and hands it to Tai. Tai smiles as he walks down the driveway. Matt shakes his head in disbelief as he follows him down. Tori and Joe just follow them silently, with no idea of what the bet was about in the first place. Day Twenty Two Early the next day, the boys are all on an airplane heading back for Pallet Town. About fifteen minutes before arriving at Viridian City International Airport, Professor Oak gathers the boys for a short meeting. Oak: Well boys, I just got a call from Miss McKenzie in Reedington. They viewed the tapes and gathered the evaluations of the four girls. It’s time to announce the final results. I have to admit, it was very close. But first... Professor Oak hands one envelope to each of the four groups. Oak: You may open the envelopes. Inside each envelope is a piece of paper. On it is a list of three tasks that the girls had to perform. You got twenty-five points for every task that was completed. Then, the final evaluations, which were filled out by the girls this morning, are worth up to another twenty-five points. That means that each group could have earned one hundred points. Now, for the results. The boys wait for the professor to announce the winner. Oak: With a score of 116 to 110, the winners are the black team! Tenchi, Izzy, Li, Brock, Davis, Ash, Cody, and Richie all holler in delight. The other guys look on with displeasure, after losing the challenge. Especially TK, who seems to be really disappointed. TK: (CC) After all we went through with Giselle, we still lost? Man, I’m getting tired of losing challenges! For once I’d like to be on the winning team! All of a sudden, Ash’s rejoicing comes to a halt as he begins to yell uncontrollably throughout the cabin. Ash: Pikachu! Where are you? Pikachu! Brock: Pikachu? Davis: He’s flipped his lid! Gary: I always said that he was a loser! Oak: Gary! Mind your manners! (to Ash) Ash, are you okay? Ash: Where’s Pikachu? I got to know where he is! Oak: He’s at my preserve, remember? We’ll be back there in a few hours! Ash: I can’t wait that long! I’ve got to have Pikachu right now! Everyone watches Ash cautiously, as he seems to be getting crazier by the minute. Eventually, the plane touches down in Viridian City. Professor Oak asks Ash to ride with him in the station wagon. As fast as he can, the professor drives off towards Pallet Town. The vans carrying the other guys and their luggage follow soon after. Night Twenty Two Later that night, after everyone had unpacked their stuff from the trip, Tracey, Brock, Gary, and Li decide to go down to the laboratory and see how Ash is doing. Tracey: The professor said that unless Ash is around Pikachu and his other Pokémon more often, he’ll go crazy. He’s formed a bond with them over the years and being apart for this long is just tearing them apart. Gary: That’s just a more scientific way of saying that Ash is pathetic. Brock: Enough Gary! Can’t you cut him a little slack? Li: I still don’t see why I have to come along. Brock: Well, in case he needs a little bit of straightening out, we figured that you could help in that department. Li looks at Brock curiously as the group arrives at the laboratory. Once inside, they see Ash and Pikachu comfortably cuddling on the couch. Professor Oak is sitting just across from them. Oak: Oh, I see you’re all back! How was the trip? Tracey: Great professor! Gary: (VO) Professor’s pet. Li quickly gives Pikachu a once over before announcing his thoughts on the situation. Li: I can’t believe that he’d get so upset about being away from a stupid little rodent... That comment made Pikachu very angry. He begins to charge up to thundershock Li. Pikachu: (charging up) Pikachuuuuuuuuu! Gary, Tracey, and Brock move out of the way as the small blast of thunder hits Li. Li: (faints) Ouch. Tracey: Looks like he’ll be out for a little bit. Brock: I’m not carrying him back up the hill. Gary: (to Ash) So Ash, how are you doing? Ash: I’m fine, thank you. Oak: Ash will be alright. He just needed to see Pikachu again, as well as get some rest. Brock: Are you sure he’ll be okay? Oak: Yeah. I want Ash to come back here tomorrow for another evaluation, though. Tracey: (saluting the professor) Yes sir! Oak: You guys better get back to the mansion. It’s getting late. Ash: Bye Pikachu! See you tomorrow! Pikachu: (waving goodbye to Ash) Pika! Tracey and Gary pull Li onto their shoulders and lead the way out. Ash and Brock follow them out. Oak: (sighs) I sure hope Ash will be okay. Pikachu: Pika pi. Pika. Outside, the quintet heads up the hill and back towards the mansion. End Episode Eleven Oak: (VO) Next time... Tenchi: We could always use a new TV. Ash: I wouldn’t be able to use it anyway. Cody: Couldn’t we pick a sport that’s not as violent? Brock: That sounds like something that should be coming out of Joe’s mouth. Oak: (VO) Plus, there’s phone calls aplenty! Davis: Kari! Is that you? Kari: (on the videophone) Hi Davis! Nice to see you again! Davis: (CC) Kari said it was nice to see me again! Wow! I think I’m in love with her again.
