Davis: Let’s get going! We have a lot to do! Richie: Ready Sakura? Sakura: (nods) Yep. Let’s hit the town! I can show you all the sights. Ash: Huh? Sakura: I live here, remember? Oak: (VO) With some interesting developments... Matt: Why don’t we make a bet on it? Tai: Twenty bucks and I’m in. Matt: Deal. Tai and Matt shake hands, squeezing very hard. Brock: You’re not engaged, are you? Sora gets up and starts walking down the hill. Sora: Getting engaged at my age is just plain nonsense. Oak: (VO) How does that fare in terms of future dating prospects for the boys? Ken: At least we have some dating experience now. We can make up for it on our next date. TK: (smiles) That’s what I like about you, Ken. You’re always talking about the future. Oak: (VO) Ahem. On an unrelated note... Tracey: The professor said that unless Ash is around Pikachu and his other Pokémon more often, he’ll go crazy. Li: I can’t believe that he’d get so upset about being away from a stupid little rodent... That comment made Pikachu very angry. He begins to charge up to thundershock Li. Pikachu: (charging up) Pikachuuuuuuuuu! Gary, Tracey, and Brock move out of the way as the small blast of thunder hits Li. Li: (faints) Ouch. Tracey and Gary pull Li onto their shoulders and lead the way out. Ash and Brock follow them out. Oak: (sighs) I sure hope Ash will be okay. * * * * * * * * * * Sixteen young guys Four different anime shows Forty-two days living alone in a mansion One lucky soul walks away with up to one million dollars in cash (Begin theme song, showing each of the contestants, two at a time via split screen) Ash, walking away from the racetrack after being yelled at by his teammates Brock, flirting with Nurse Joy at the Viridian City Pokémon Center Cody, trying to figure out how to use a Pokéball Davis, tackling TK in the hedge maze prize challenge Gary, convincing Mrs. Ketchum to buy some foot warmers from him Izzy, thinking about how his team lost the first physical challenge Joe, getting settled in his room just after arriving at that mansion Ken, discussing with Tai his theory about Nurse Joy Li, using his sword to slice down the first door Matt, yelling at Tracey after discovering that he was eating all the candy samples Richie, recalling his days at the Pokémon League Tai, leading the boys through the Digiworld Tenchi, talking with Ken about being a bachelor TK, forming a truce with Davis after Kari had yelled at them Tori, drinking a cup of cocoa as Ash and TK run towards him Tracey, assuring his team that he’d even the score in the go-kart physical challenge Some of these guys will become the best of friends Others will develop grudges against those they hate But only one will walk out with up to a million dollars in cash and prizes These boys are... roomies! Brock and Richie are hanging out in the living room. All of a sudden, TK and Davis enter the room. Brock: So, how is he? Davis: Who? Richie: Ash, you dummy! TK: Ash is fine. We just came from his room. Davis: He’s acting better than he has been the past few days. TK: To imagine that he’d break down only because he hadn’t seen his Pikachu in weeks. Brock: I have to admit, I’m quite stumped too. I mean, since he started his Pokémon journey, Ash has let go Butterfree, Haunter, Pidgeot, Lapras, Charizard, and Squirtle. It’s weird. Richie: But wasn’t Pikachu Ash’s first Pokémon? Brock: Yes, he was. I think it’s because of the bond those two have. They’ve been together through thick and thin. I bet Ash doesn’t feel completely himself all the time because Pikachu isn’t with him. TK: So that would explain the breakdown he had. Davis: Talk about being desperate for companionship. Richie: I’m surprised you aren’t in the same position yourself, Davis. Davis: What do you mean? Richie: Well, didn’t you have a crush on that Kari girl? Brock: Yeah. The dinner we had a few nights ago was the first time you had seen her in more than three weeks. Davis: True, but I feel confident that she feels the same way about me. And that’s why our reunion will be that much more special after this is all over. TK: (sarcastically) Yeah, right. Davis: (overhearing TK’s comment) What did you say, TL? TK: Oh, nothing. Brock: So, how are things between you two and Kari? Has she forgiven you guys yet? Davis: For what? TK: (shakes his head in disgust) I’m sure she has, even if she hasn’t said so herself. Richie: So what are you guys going to do the next time you see her? Brock: Yeah. Are you going to try to sweep her off her feet? ‘Cause I can give you a few pointers. TK: I’m not sure about that... Davis: I don’t need pointers. Kari will fall at my feet once she discovers my boyish charm. TK: (under his breath) That should take about fifty years... Davis: (yelling) I heard that, TB! Brock: Speaking of crushes... Brock turns towards Richie. Richie has a surprised look on his face as both TK and Davis also glance at him. Richie: Huh? What are you looking at me for? TK: Remember when Chelsea was hanging with us last week? Richie: (getting a little uneasy) Yeah, I remember... Flashback to a few nights ago... Richie: And so that’s how I befriended Zippo, my Charmander. Chelsea: Do you have him with you? I’d love to see it! Richie: Professor Oak’s holding him while we’re here. Can’t have Pokémon in the house, you know. Chelsea: I see. Richie: Let me tell you about the time I beat Ash over there at the Pokémon League. Chelsea: (gasps) Wow! You’ve actually competed in the Pokémon League? Richie: Yep. I’m one of the top eight trainers in the world. Chelsea: That’s so amazing! A little bit later... Li: (pointing to the door) TK and Chelsea are in there. Ash: He’d better not be making out with my girl! Richie: What do you mean your girl? She’s my girl! The following night... Richie goes up and rings the doorbell. After a few seconds, the door opens. Chelsea appears in the doorway. All of a sudden, Richie begins to sweat uncontrollably. Richie: (CC) It’s Chelsea again! Chelsea: Hello! Richie: (CC) I’m so nervous right now that I’m wetting my pants. Chelsea: Richie right? That’s your name, isn’t it? Richie: (VO) Come on, say something! Chelsea: (glancing Richie over curiously) Hello! Are you awake in there? Richie: (VO) Say something, you dork! She’s staring at you! Chelsea: (now waving her hand in front of Richie’s face) Are you there? Richie: Hi... Chelsea: (breathes a sigh of relief) Thank goodness. For a minute, I thought you had turned into a statue. Richie: Yeah. Imagine that. Richie pulls his collar away from his neck to wipe away all of the sweat that had formed there. Chelsea: Are you okay? Do you want something to drink? Richie: No. I’m fine. Chelsea: Come in then. I’m sure the girls are on their way down. End flashback... Davis: I remember that night. Ash, Cody, and I watched you from the gate. I’m sure you were standing there for a good minute or so. And I remember Cody pointing Chelsea out when he looked to see who you were talking to. (with a sly smile) You like her, don’t you? Richie stayed silent. The others give him a strange look. TK: Come on, Richie. I know you like her. I can tell by that look in your eyes. Davis: (confused) You can? Brock: (elbowing Richie in the side) Come on, you can tell us. It’ll be our little secret. Richie: Well... TK: (jumping in) I knew it! Brock: (smiling) Looks like you’ve got your first crush, Richie. Davis: You should take this opportunity to go after her. Write her a letter or something. Brock: Or better yet, see if you can get Professor Oak to give you the number to the girls’ mansion! I’m sure Chelsea wouldn’t mind talking to you over the phone. TK: Wait a minute, guys. I don’t think we’re allowed to use the phone for personal calls, except when it’s to family members or it’s an emergency. Davis: Where’s your spirit, TK? Richie is the same as me. He wants to get with the girl of his dreams. Brock: Yeah! Are you going to dash his dreams of getting with his new girlfriend? Davis: Besides, if we help him get his girl, that’ll help me in my quest to get Kari! Brock: And for me to get my own girlfriend! TK: I see. You’re going to use Richie as a guinea pig. Davis: Guinea pig? Brock: Nonsense. We just want to make sure Richie succeed in life. TK: It’s okay, I guess. As long as it doesn’t get too intimate... Richie: If I were you TK, I wouldn’t be commenting on intimate, since you faked doing it with Chelsea. TK: Are you still riled up about that? It was a joke! Richie: (growling) It had better be. TK: Besides, I haven’t decided on a girl of my own yet. Davis: Really? You mean you’re giving up on Kari? TK: I haven’t given up on her! Davis: I thought you said you were interested in girls yet. Brock: Okay, hold it guys. Let’s stop this now before this turns into another one of your arguments. Richie: So, what am I going to do? Brock: Allow me to lay you down the ground rules for getting a girl’s attention... * * * * * * * * * * Night Twenty Three That night, Richie is in his room, writing at his desk. He is putting the finishing touches on a letter he is writing to Chelsea. Cody walks into the room and waves hello to his roommate. Cody: What are you doing, Richie? Richie: Huh? Oh, I’m writing a letter. Cody: To whom? Your parents? Richie: Not exactly... Cody looks over Richie’s shoulder and onto the paper. He notices that the letter is addressed to Chelsea. Cody: Chelsea... why does that name sound familiar? Oh yeah, she’s the girl with the pigtails who you were fooling around with last week, right? Richie: Yes, though I would’ve said that we were talking, not fooling around. Cody: Whatever. Just keep me out of your love life, okay? Cody goes over to his bed to lie down as Richie finishes his letter. He folds it, stuffs it into a small envelope, and writes Chelsea’s name on the front. He then puts it aside before heading over to his dresser to change into his pajamas. Day Twenty Four The following morning, all of the guys are gathered in the first floor recreation room. Professor Oak is waiting for them there to explain the next prize challenge. Oak: Good morning, gentlemen. Today, you’ll be competing in your fourth prize challenge. The prize: a 25 inch TV from Panasonic with a built-in VCR. The boys react appropriately to the announcement of the reward. Tenchi: We could always use a new TV. Ash: I wouldn’t be able to use it anyway. I’m always on the road. Tai: So what exactly are we doing for this challenge? Oak: Well... All of a sudden, the boys watch as a Machop brings in a cardboard box. He places it down next to Professor Oak and then departs just as quickly. Inside the box are some wrestling uniforms, although none of the boys know what they are. Matt: (as he reaches over towards the box) What’s with the uniforms? Oak: You’ll be wearing them for the challenge. You guys pick a uniform, put it on, and then meet me out in the front yard. With that, the professor leaves the room. The guys then go over to the box and start distributing uniforms according to size. A few minutes later, the boys gather outside, dressed in the uniforms. A small wrestling ring is set up down near the gate. A spinning wheel is up next to the ring. A trailer is set off to the side. Professor Oak comes up to guide the boys down the hill. Oak: As you’ve probably already figured out, you will be wrestling today. Cody: Could we pick a sport that’s not as violent? Brock: That sounds like something that should be coming out of Joe’s mouth. Tai: Joe would say it, only he’s passed out from fright. Sure enough, the guys look down and see that Joe has fainted. Tori: I guess someone’s going to have to carry him down to the ring. Tenchi: I’ll help. Tori picks Joe up by the legs while Tenchi grabs his arms and head. They follow the others down the ring. Once there, TK heads over to the water thermos and gets a cup of water. He runs back over and splashes it in Joe’s face, waking him up. Joe: (getting up and drying himself off) Was that absolutely necessary? Oak: I’m guessing by your faint that you’re afraid to partake in this challenge. Joe: Yes, I’m terrified. Oak: Well, you can refuse the challenge. Of course, you lose your chance at the TV. Joe: That’s fine by me. I don’t get much time to watch TV anyway. Oak: If that’s settled, then is everyone else ready for the challenge? The rest of the boys respond affirmatively. Gary: (CC) If Joe was going to chicken out, then maybe he shouldn’t have come out of the house. The professor pulls a top hat out of nowhere and tosses fifteen small slips of paper, numbered one to fifteen, into it. He then tells the boys to draw a number from that hat. One at a time, the boys go up and draw. Once everyone does, Professor Oak withdraws the hat from the group and continues explaining the challenge. Oak: Okay, whatever number you drew determines when you’ll go. Each of you will have one match. Basically, if you win the match, you earn a chance at the TV. To win, all you have to do is pin your opponent. But how do you determine who your opponent is, you ask? Well, let’s go to the wheel, shall we. He leads them over to the wheel, where there are ten different sections labeled on it. Oak: One at a time, you’ll come over and spin the wheel. Wherever you land is the opponent you’ll face. As you can see, three panels have ‘wrestle the next person.’ It’s just as it says. If you land on that, you have to fight whomever is next in line. That fight will count as one for both of you, which means only the winner gets a chance at the TV. Two panels are labeled ‘wrestle a Machoke’ while two others are labeled ‘wrestle a Wartortle.’ Once again, just as it says. There’s one panel labeled ‘wrestle a mystery female guest’ and another labeled ‘wrestle a mystery male guest.’ The tenth and final panel is a ‘wild card’ panel, meaning you can choose any of the options above. If you guys are ready, we’ll start. Who drew number 1? Reluctantly, Izzy raises his hand. He goes over to the wheel and spins it. It lands on ‘wrestle a Machoke.’ Ash: Ooh boy, Izzy. I wouldn’t want to be you right now. Professor Oak calls out a Machoke from the trailer. One comes out and immediately begins to showboat by flexing his muscles. Izzy gulps as he climbs into the ring. He watches as Machoke jumps into it. Professor Oak rings the bell and the match begins. Machoke charges for Izzy as he screams in fear. No one can watch as Machoke quickly pins Izzy by jumping on top of him. There was no way Izzy was going to get out of that one. Professor Oak rings the bell to end the match. Machoke dusts his hands off before walking back to the trailer, disgusted that Izzy didn’t even put up a fight. Izzy, meanwhile, slowly crawls out of the ring. Tai: Izzy! Are you all right, man? Izzy: (slightly bruised, but otherwise fine) Yeah. Just give me a few minutes. Matt: You look like you need a few hours, buddy. Tai and Matt carry Izzy over to the nearest chair and set him down. Meanwhile, Ash steps up and spins the wheel. He lands on ‘wrestle the next person.’ Ash: Okay, so who’s number three? Matt, hearing his number, raises his hand and walks over to the group. Matt: I’m three. What’s up? Ash: I have to wrestle you. Matt: Really? (cracks his fingers) This ought to be good. The two of them step into the ring. Professor Oak rings the bell and the two go at it. Ash decides that his best chance is to avoid Matt until he tires out. No such luck. Matt catches on quickly and goes after him. He grabs Ash, pushes him towards the ropes and drop kicks him on the way back. Ash is dazed easily by this. Matt lies down and pulls Ash’s leg back. After a count of three, the professor rings the bell once again. Matt pulls Ash up from the mat. Matt: Are you okay? Sorry I roughed you up, Ash. Ash: (checking his back) That’s okay. You did what you had to. As long as you didn’t injure me anywhere, I’ll be fine. Cody is the next to go. He ends up wrestling a Wartortle. For once, the combatants put up a good fight. Cody used his kendo training techniques to show Wartortle a few moves. But eventually, Wartortle gets the best of him. After about three minutes of wrestling, Cody finally gives in after getting caught in a leglock in the center of the ring. Richie follows afterwards. He draws the ‘wrestle a mystery female guest’ panel. He looks towards the trailer. A green haired girl who looks to be Richie’s age comes out. She’s also dressed in a wrestling uniform, with a T-shirt under it. She flashes an insignificant smile at Richie before stepping into the ring. Richie follows her in. As he looked at her, he began to think about Chelsea. Richie: (VO) You know, if she had brown hair, and it was tied up in matching pigtails, she’d look just like Chelsea. As he thought of his future love, the bell rang. The girl charges right at the daydreaming Richie. She clotheslines him. The hit brings Richie back to reality. He tries to pin the girl, but she’s too fast for him. That, and Richie’s afraid to hit a girl... especially one his age. Eventually, she brings Richie down to his knees. She pins him and happily walks out of the ring a victor. As Richie pieces himself together after the match, he sees that the other boys are laughing at him. Gary: How could you get beat by a girl? Li: Pathetic. Davis: I could’ve beaten her! Richie ignores them and goes over to sit next to Izzy, who is still recovering from his battle. TK steps up and ends up, by some dumb luck, landing on the ‘wrestle the next person’ panel. Dumb luck because Davis happens to be the next person. Davis: TS is going down! TK: What’s Davis so riled up about? Like he’d be able to beat me anyway. The two get into the ring, ready to battle. Professor Oak rings the bell once again. Davis starts by charging right at TK. TK ducks out of the way. Davis tries again and misses once again. Finally, on third attempt, TK reaches out for Davis’s arm and pulls him over his head. He slams Davis down on the mat. Davis, not satisfied with that, gets up and refuses to quit. He runs right at TK with his arms in the air. TK steps out of the way and simultaneous sticks his foot out just as Davis reaches him. Davis trips and falls face first to the mat. TK gets the drop on him by elbowing him in the back. He then attempts to pin him, but Davis pulls out before the three count can be completed. TK this time decided to take the offensive, as he tackles Davis to the ground shortly after he gets up. TK then pulls Davis back up before getting him into a headlock. Davis tries to struggle his way free, but he is unable to. Eventually, Davis begins to run out of air, so he taps out. Satisfied, TK lets go of Davis and drops him to the canvas. After Davis is eventually dragged out of the ring, the next match begins. Davis joins the small group that is forming on the sidelines, which now includes Izzy, Richie, and himself. Meanwhile, Gary had rolled the ‘wild card’ panel. He had decided that he’d take his chances against whomever was next. That happened to be Tai. It turned out that Gary and Tai were both very good fighters. Upon the ringing of the bell, they just basically started pummeling each other. Everyone held their breath as the fight seemed like it began to get out of hand. All of a sudden, the two of them pulled away from each other. They were both breathing heavily. Gary’s nose was beginning to bleed, while Tai began to nurse a giant bump that had developed on the left side of his face. The others watched closely, unsure of where the fight was going or if they should step in to stop it or not. * * * * * * * * * * Professor Oak decided that enough was enough, so he stopped the fight before they could really hurt each other. He steps in between Gary and Tai and stops them dead in their tracks. Oak: Enough, you two. This is supposed to be a friendly wrestling match, not a street fight! Tai: We’re sorry, professor. I think we just got a little carried away. Gary: Yeah. Sorry about that, grandpa. Oak: Gary, go get a couple of tissues to stop the bleeding. And as for you Tai, I would get some ice for that bruise. It looks like it’s starting to change colors. Tai: What about the TV? Gary: Yeah. Who won the match? Oak: Well, since you two didn’t follow the rules, I can’t award the prize to either of you. I hope you understand that that is the right thing to do. Tai and Gary nod in approval, although they were disappointed. They head out of the ring to take care of their injuries. Tenchi steps up and spins the wheel. He steps back in fear when he discovers that he will wrestle ‘the mystery male guest.’ He takes another step back when he meets the intimidating figure of his opponent, Lieutenant Surge, the gym leader of Vermillion City. Tenchi: Wow! He’s huge! Surge: Hey, baby! Tenchi: I’m not a baby! Surge: I call everyone who loses to me a baby. Now, let’s get it on! The two get into the ring and begin to wrestle. Tenchi tries everything in the book to try and take his opponent down. But Surge refuses to move. Finally, Surge goes on the offensive and easily pins a distraught Tenchi. After the match, Surge smirks as he walks out of the ring and back to the trailer. Tenchi rubs his hurting back as he makes his way out. Li is next to go. His spin lands on the ‘wrestle with a Wartortle’ space. Wartortle comes out of the trailer to fight. Upon starting the fight, Li plays it smart and knocks Wartortle on his shell. He then easily pins him for the win. Everyone looks at Li shocked as the Cardcaptor from Hong Kong walks out of the ring without so much as a glance at his fallen opponent. Ash: (sweatdrops) Okay... TK: Remind me never to get on Li’s bad side. Davis: I hear you. It’s Brock’s turn to go. He spins the wheel, and appropriately, it lands on ‘wrestle a mystery female guest.’ He watches as the Fuchsia City Officer Jenny, dressed accordingly in a wrestler’s uniform, comes out. Brock begins to drool. Jenny, quickly noticing that her opponent was Brock, runs back into the trailer and locks the door. Brock goes over and knocks on the door repeatedly. Brock: Oh Officer Jenny, come on! Let’s wrestle! It’ll be fun! Jenny: (yelling from inside) No way! Brock: Once I scare all the kids away, we can spend some time together. You know, to get to know each other? Jenny: Leave me alone! Go away! Brock: Please! Pretty please! Look, I’m scaring the kids away. He turns towards the others and growls fiercely at them. Davis jumps back in fright, as he hides behind TK. Everyone else is unimpressed. Finally, Professor Oak comes over. Oak: Well, it seems that Officer Jenny doesn’t want to wrestle you, so I guess you win by forfeit, Brock. Brock: No! I won’t let it end this way! (starts knocking on the door again) Jenny! Oh Jenny! How about coffee? Want to go out for a cup of coffee? Ash grabs Brock by the ear and starts pulling him away. Ash: Okay Brock, I think that’s enough flirting for one day. Brock: Owww! Okay, I give! I give! Tori steps up to the wheel and gives it a spin. It lands on ‘wrestle the next person.’ Tori: Okay, who’s up? Tracey: (gulps) I guess I am. Tori: (rolls up his sleeves) Let’s get this over with. The two step into the ring. As soon as the bell rings, Tori wrestles Tracey to the ground. After several minutes of twisting, turning, and occasional random screams, the match ends with Tori sitting on Tracey while pulling his legs back to an uncomfortable position. Tori releases his grip and walks out of the ring. Tracey slowly works his way to his feet and limps his way off. Ken is the last one to spin the wheel. He ends up wrestling a Wartortle. Impressed at how easily Li beat this very same Wartortle earlier, he was hoping not to embarrass himself. The bell rings. Ken goes right after Wartortle, but is greeted by a water gun in the face. Wartortle then headbutts Ken in the stomach. Ken begins to reel, a bit dazed, as Wartortle jumps at Ken again. This time, the turtle Pokémon aims for Ken’s legs. He takes the young Digidestined down. Wartortle then uses a hydro pump attack to knock Ken against a corner post. This knocks Ken unconscious. Wartortle pins Ken and ends the match. As Wartortle begins to celebrate, Ken finally comes to. TK and Cody pull him out of the ring and tell him that the match is over. Ken: Man! What happened? Cody: I think that Wartortle tried using his own Pokémon moves. TK: Personally, I think it worked. You didn’t even know what hit you, Ken. A few minutes later, all of the boys are standing in front of Professor Oak. A few of them are either limping or holding some other random body part that was sore in some way. Oak: Well boys, I hope you guys had a good time today. Although some of you are hurting more than others, I’m proud that you gave it your all. I guess I better let you guys go so you can rest. No offense, but it looks like some of you need. The group starts to head back up to the mansion. Day Twenty Five The next day, the boys get a special message from Professor Oak in the mail. After everyone is gathered in the first floor recreation room, Ash, who had gotten it from the mailbox, opens the envelope and reads the message inside. Ash: (reading aloud) To the residents of Pallet Mansion: I have a special surprise waiting for you at the laboratory. Please send three young men down here ASAP. Gary: I wonder what my grandpa wants with us? Tori: So, who should we send down? Davis: (jumping up and down like crazy) Can I go? Can I go? Tracey: (doing likewise) Ooh! Can I go too? Can I? Tenchi: Yeesh. I don’t see why you’d be so excited to do this. Tai: Yeah. For all we know, he might put you guys to work. Izzy: You mean like helping him take care of the Pokémon? Tai: (shrugs his shoulders) Possibly. Izzy: In that case... Li: I’ll go. Izzy: Huh? Li: I want to get out of this house and do something useful for a change. Ash: So I guess Davis, Tracey, and Li are going down, huh? Richie: I guess so. Before Izzy could object again, the aforementioned trio head out and make their down the hill, towards the laboratory. Izzy: (CC) I guess I’ll let Li go, if he wants to keep busy. Besides, I think I’d better rest after what happened yesterday. Minutes later, Davis, Li, and Tracey are sitting in the living room of the Professor Oak’s laboratory. Suddenly, the professor comes out. Oak: Ah, are you the three that decided to come down? Tracey: Yes, professor. Li: So, what type of work do you want us to do? Oak: Work? Is that what you think you’re down here for? Li: Well, yeah. Oak: I’ve got something better than work. Davis: That could be anything! Oak: I have some phone calls that I need you guys to take. Tracey: Why? Oak: You’ll see. The professor leads them into three private rooms. Davis goes into the first one, Tracey into the second, and Li into third. He tells each of them that someone will be calling in the next few minutes and he wants them to talk with that person for as long as possible. Davis’s videophone is the first to ring. He answers it as the familiar ‘Ring, Ring, Ring, Phone Call, Phone Call!’ jingle begins. The words ‘Voice Only’ appear on the screen. Davis: Hello! Professor Oak’s laboratory! You’re speaking to Davis! Who’s there? Mystery Caller # 1: (giggles) You know, you sound just like a telemarketer. Davis: Kari! Is that you? Kari: (on the videophone) Hi Davis! Nice to see you again! Davis: (CC) Kari said it was nice to see me again! Wow! I think I’m in love with her again. Kari: You know, it’s nice to hear a voice of reason for once, so to speak. Davis: (blushing) How are things? Kari: (sighs) Okay, I guess. How about you? Davis: Oh, I’m fine. TD’s been giving me trouble again. Kari: Uh huh. Sure. Davis: So Kari, I was thinking. After this is all over, do you want to go on a date? I mean, I think it’s time we started. Kari: (nervously) Oh yeah. Cool. (quickly) Look, I think Yolei’s calling me. Gotta go! With that, Kari hangs up the phone. Davis: Kari! Kari, are you there? Kari! Answer me! Kari? (tossing his arms across each other) Oh dang, here we go! Meanwhile, Tracey’s phone has begun to ring. He answers it quickly. Tracey: Tracey Sketchit, assistant to Professor Oak, speaking! Mystery Caller # 2: (voice only) Ugh. It’s you again. Get a life. Tracey: Giselle? Giselle: Who do you think it is? Your mother? Of course it’s me, you dimwit! Tracey: You don’t have to be so mean, you know. Giselle: Really? You want to see mean? I’ll show you mean! Giselle hangs up the phone. Tracey gasps in shock. Tracey: Well I’ll be darned. That was mean. I’ll show her. Tracey hangs the receiver up and then picks it back up. He begins dialing a phone number when he comes to a sudden realization... Tracey: I don’t know the number to the mansion in Reedington. (snaps his fingers) Darn it! I wanted to get her back! Over in the third secret room... Li: This is the stupidest thing that’s happened to me so far... The phone begins to ring. Li sighs and answers it. Meilin appears on the videophone screen. Li: Meilin? Meilin: Li! Have I got news for you! Li: But how? Reedington doesn’t have any videophones. Meilin: Never mind that! I’ve got to tell you something! Li: Okay, spill it. Meilin: You know Madison, Sakura’s friend, right? Li: Of course. Meilin: Well, it seems that a few nights ago, she admitted her love for Avalon! Li: What? I don’t understand. Meilin: Madison loves Sakura. Now, everyone’s scared of her because of it. Li: (deep in thought) Hmmmm... Li is speechless, as he has no idea how to react to the news that Meilin just gave him.
