Episode 16! Four to go after this one! Hang on! Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters. Please remember that. Thank you. * * * * * * * * * * Oak: (VO) On the last episode of Roomies... At about nine thirty that night, the gang gets a pleasant surprise when Davis appears. He has some crutches in hand and a new temporary cast on his injured right ankle. Tai: So, are you okay, Davis? Davis: I’m fine guys, really! Oak: (VO) Davis returns to the mansion, with some minor injuries... Ash: Will you be able to compete in any more challenges? Davis: The professor said he will evaluate me on a challenge-by-challenge basis. Oak: (VO) And then the gang heads for the Digiworld... Cody and Ken: (simultaneously) Digi-port open! Oak: (VO) Where they meet two familiar faces... Davis and Cody: (at the same time) It’s Michael! Tai and TK: (also at the same time, with hearts in their eyes) And Catherine! Oak: (VO) But in our little game of dodgeball, they’re not friends. They’re enemies... Tai took this brief opportunity to make a run for it. He jumps out of the bushes and runs away from Catherine. She throws the ball right at Tai, but her throw is short, as he expected. Oak: (VO) As you can see, this game of dodgeball tested everyone’s trust... To make matters even worse for Tracey, Gary hits him in the back of his left leg. Tracey goes down, trying to rub the soreness out of his leg. Tracey: (CC) Now, that was pretty low! The first hit was as fair as possible, but Gary didn’t have to go and tag me in the leg so hard! All of a sudden, Matt throws his ball at Brock, hitting him in the side of his pelvis area. Brock couldn’t believe it! TK and Matt had double-crossed him! The two brothers run off, each carrying a ball, as Brock slams his wristband on the ground. Gary: I knew those Digimon punks couldn’t be trusted. Brock: I hear you. On the way there, though, he spots Richie running towards him in one direction. He then spots Ash coming from the other. Neither of them has a ball in hand. Eventually, he watches as Ash and Richie run into each other. Both bodies go down to the ground. Tai runs over to see if they are okay. Tai: Nice crash, you two! Are you okay! Ash: You tripped me! Richie: I did not trip you! Matt: Don’t worry! We’re here to help! Need something to plug him with? Tai: Yeah! Matt: (handing him the ball) Here. Tai takes the ball and throws it back at Matt, who catches it. Tai gasps in surprise. Matt: Looks like you’re out, Tai. TK: That makes twice in three seconds! Tai: I’m out twice? (remembers that he can’t hold a ball) Dang it! Matt: (laughs) You should see the look on your face right now! Oak: (VO) What a game! But what lies in store for our boys next? Stay tuned... * * * * * * * * * * Sixteen young guys Four different anime shows Forty-two days living alone in a mansion One lucky soul walks away with up to one million dollars in cash (Begin theme song, showing each of the contestants, two at a time via split screen) Ash, walking away from the racetrack after being yelled at by his teammates Brock, flirting with Nurse Joy at the Viridian City Pokémon Center Cody, trying to figure out how to use a Pokéball Davis, tackling TK in the hedge maze prize challenge Gary, convincing Mrs. Ketchum to buy some foot warmers from him Izzy, thinking about how his team lost the first physical challenge Joe, getting settled in his room just after arriving at that mansion Ken, discussing with Tai his theory about Nurse Joy Li, using his sword to slice down the first door Matt, yelling at Tracey after discovering that he was eating all the candy samples Richie, recalling his days at the Pokémon League Tai, leading the boys through the Digiworld Tenchi, talking with Ken about being a bachelor TK, forming a truce with Davis after Kari had yelled at them Tori, drinking a cup of cocoa as Ash and TK run towards him Tracey, assuring his team that he’d even the score in the go-kart physical challenge Some of these guys will become the best of friends Others will develop grudges against those they hate But only one will walk out with up to a million dollars in cash and prizes These boys are... roomies! Richie: So, how are things at the mansion? Chelsea: I’m not quite sure. I think Sora and Mimi are arguing about something. Richie: Really? What’s got those two riled up? Chelsea: During our last prize challenge, Mimi accidentally broke the video camera we were using. Richie: And Sora’s been pissed off at her ever since? Chelsea: Well, that, and obviously some other stuff that I don’t know about. Richie: Interesting. Chelsea: It’s not interesting, Richie! One of these days, one of these rivalries is going to get someone hurt. Richie: Why are you girls all taking this so seriously? I thought that was the boys’ job! Chelsea: Beats me. You guys must have something over at your mansion that keeps you guys from strangling each other. Richie: Anyway, you got my letter, right? Chelsea: (sighs) Yes. I thought I said that. Richie: You did, didn’t you? Chelsea: I did. Richie: So... I guess we should decide when to have that date of ours, huh? Chelsea: Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready. Richie: How about the day we get out of the mansions? Would you be available that night? Chelsea: Um, no, actually, I think I’m going to go home and go get a decent amount of sleep. We don’t seem to get enough of that around here. Richie: Me neither, but you don’t see me complaining! Chelsea: Richie, please. Richie: Sorry. Chelsea: How about the Thursday night afterwards? Richie: I can’t. I’m already planning a sleepover with my friends. Chelsea: A sleepover? Aren’t you a bit too old to be having sleepovers? Richie: You have them too, I bet! Chelsea: Of course I do, but that’s because I’m a ten year old girl! You’re an eleven year old boy! It’s just not normal! Richie: I live in the most normal town in the Kanto region! Everything we ever do is just normal! And sleepovers for boys are normal! Chelsea: And may I ask what’s the name of your town? Richie: Bluegrass. Chelsea: That is normal. Richie: See... I told you. Chelsea: But boys having sleepovers is not normal! Richie: Can we drop this talk about sleepovers? Chelsea: Sure... what do you want to talk about? Richie: I want to talk about when can we have this date? I want to have it as soon as possible! Chelsea: Why’s that? Richie: ‘Cause I love you so much! Chelsea: (giggles) That is so cute. Richie: Oh. So I can be cute, but I can’t be normal? Chelsea: Whoever came up with the assumption that Pokémon trainers are normal wasn’t too smart. Richie: Hey! Are you trying to tell me how to do my life? Chelsea: I didn’t say that! Richie: That sounds like what you were saying to me. Chelsea: No! Honest! And if I did say it, I didn’t mean it! Richie: You’ll have to make it up to me. Chelsea: How’s that? Richie: You give me something extra when we have our date. Chelsea: Extra? Like what? Richie: Um... I haven’t thought of it yet, but I let you know when I do. Chelsea: (nervously) Uh huh... look, I gotta go, so I’ll call you again in a few days! Richie: Yeah. Sure thing. With that, Chelsea hangs up the phone. Richie sighs and wonders what the heck went wrong. Richie: What exactly happened to that conversation? Did I say something wrong? Day Thirty Three Ash, Gary, Brock, Tracey, and Richie decide the next day to go down to Professor Oak’s laboratory and reunite with their Pokémon. It’s the least they could do, since they really weren’t doing anything. Ash: I can’t wait to see Pikachu again! Gary: I’m surprised you haven’t flipped out yet. You haven’t seen that rodent of yours for three days. Ash: Don’t call Pikachu a rodent! Gary: Then what do you call that yellow rat of yours? Ash: Pikachu! That’s the only thing I ever call him! Brock: Can you two can it with the fighting? Richie: Seriously! Can’t you two just get along? The five finally arrive at the lab. Professor Oak welcomes them in and in minutes, retrieves their Pokémon for them. Ash: Pikachu! Pikachu: (jumping up into Ash’s arms) Pika! Ash: I’m glad to see you two! How have you been? Pikachu: Pika pika, pika pi! Gary: (kneeling down to pet his Eevee) How have you been, boy? Eevee: Vee! Eevee! Gary: That’s good. I bet you’ve been showing everyone’s who’s boss, right? Eevee: (nods approvingly) Vee! Tracey: Marill! As blue as ever, I see! Marill: (jumping up and down in front of Tracey) Marill! Tracey: You’re just as perky, too. Let’s see if you’re still on the mark with your water gun attack. Marill: Marill! Marill launches her water gun attack right at Tracey and hits him square in the face. After she stops, Tracey uses his shirt to wipe the water from his face. Tracey: I’m soaked! Looks like you still got it! Brock pulls out his comb and starts to brush his Vulpix’s fur. Brock: It’s been awhile since you’ve had a good brush, huh? Vulpix: (yawning) Vulllllll! Richie: Hey Sparky! Sparky, his Pikachu, runs up to him and hugs him on the leg. Sparky: Pikachu! Richie: How have you been holding up, buddy? Sparky: Pika! Pika pikachu! Richie: (smiles) That’s good to know. The five trainers and their Pokémon continue their reunions. Afterwards, they spend the whole day together to play and relax. * * * * * * * * * * Night Thirty Three That night, TK, Davis, Cody, and Ken lock themselves up in Davis’s bedroom. Luckily, Ash was still at the lab, so they wouldn’t have to worry about anyone disturbing them. The foursome was trying to work out a strategy as to how to top the older Digidestined. TK: Okay... not counting the last day we’re here, we’ve got eight days to turn the tables on Tai, Matt, Izzy, and Joe. (pumps his fist) We’ll show them who’s the better group of Digidestined. Davis: What are we going to do? Pull a prank on them? Ken: No way. Besides, I think they’d find some way to get back at us. TK: You know what? Davis might actually have a good idea! Davis: I have a good idea? (coughs) I mean, of course I had a good idea! TK: Skip it, Davis. What I’m thinking is that we find some way to get them to make fools of themselves without them knowing it’s us. Cody: But how do we do that? Ken: I can probably think of a few things. I just need some time. TK: Okay then, it’s agreed. We’ll meet back here at the same time tomorrow night to discuss our plans. Agreed? Cody: Fine with me. Ken: I’ll be ready by then. Davis: How about Sunday night? I’m watching a soccer game on TV tomorrow night? TK: You can tape it, Davis. Besides, this is the only way we’re going to get the upper hand on Tai and the others. Davis: Oh. Right. TK: So, I’ll see you guys tomorrow! TK opens the door and walks out, on his way to his room. Cody and Ken follow suit, leaving Davis all alone to relax until Ash got back. About an hour later, the five Pokémon boys return to the mansion. They all head off to their rooms, with the exception of Richie, who is heading for the videophone. Just as he gets to it, he sees Tai about to hang it up. Tai: Okay, thanks for the loan mom! Mrs. Kamiya: You’re welcome, honey! I’ll send it her way once I get my check cashed in the morning. Bye! Tai: Bye mom! Tai hangs up the receiver and then notices that Richie was standing there. Tai: Richie... Richie: You didn’t have to hang up on account of me. I could’ve waited. Tai: (laughs nervously) Don’t worry. I was done anyway. (regaining his composure) Say... how long have you been standing there? Richie: I just got here. Probably no longer than a minute at most. Tai: (sighs) Whew! Richie: What’d you sigh for? Tai: Huh? Oh, nothing. (running out of the room) Gotta go! Richie watches as Tai quickly scoots out and up the stairs to his room. Richie shrugs his shoulders and picks up the receiver. He dials the number to the Reedington mansion in hopes that Chelsea will talk to him after what happened the night before. Richie: (while the phone begins to ring) Come on... somebody please pick up! Richie stays on the phone as it continues to ring and ring and ring. Finally, after twenty rings, he decides to hang up. Richie: Where could they be this late? There’s no way they can be busy with a challenge of their own. Or maybe... maybe Chelsea is trying to ignore me! Day Thirty Four By some weird stroke of luck, Ken managed to generate a few good ideas overnight. So, he and the rest of the Season 2 Digidestined decided to meet early that morning, in Davis’s room. They forced Ash out of the room, who had still been sleeping. After brushing his teeth, he makes his way down to the kitchen. Izzy is at the stove, putting the finishing touches on some French toast sticks. There were several other plates on the table, full of sausage links, eggs benedict, and bagels. Well... only a quarter full. Most of the house had either already eaten breakfast or were in the process of doing so. Ash spots Matt, Tai, Joe, Tracey, Li, and Brock at the table. Brock: Hey Ash... haven’t taken a bath yet, I see. Ash: (rubbing his eyes) Davis kicked me out of the room. (yawns) It’s only ten thirty! Li: Don’t you know that the early worm catches the bird? Ash: But I don’t catch birds, Li. I catch Pokémon. Li: (VO) Ash can be such an idiot sometimes. Actually, that could probably apply to a few of the other boys, too... Tai: (talking with half a bagel in his mouth) So... why fid e kix u uht? Matt hits Tai in the back of the head, causing him to spit the half a bagel out of his mouth. Tai: Why did you do that? Matt: Man, no one can understand a word you’re saying! Besides, it’s rude to talk with your mouth full! Ash: Now, what were you saying? Tai: Oh, I was asking you if you know why he kicked you out. Ash: Don’t know, but TK, Cody, and Ken are in there with him. Tracey: (grabbing a bagel) What’s up with that? Brock: Beats me... Tai, Matt, Izzy, and Joe all look at each other for a second. Izzy then steps away from the stove and the others get up from the table. They leave the room to talk about something, leaving Ash, Brock, Tracey, and Li at the table. Joe: Are you guys thinking what I’m thinking? Tai: I think so. Matt: They must be plotting against us somehow. Remember how much of a big deal we made of that Season 1 vs. Season 2 rivalry before we got up here? Izzy: Of course! They’re using the most opportune time to bring it alive. Joe: So, what do we do? Tai: Well, since everyone’s almost done with breakfast and none of them knows how to cook... Matt: I get it! Either they’ll fix their own breakfast or they’ll starve until lunch! Izzy: That’s a great idea! Joe: I don’t know about this, guys. Tai: Oh, come on. It’s all in fun and games. Matt: We’re just going to show them who’s the better set of Digidestined, that’s all. Izzy: It’s not like we’re going to physically hurt them. Tai: Not like they’d be able to beat us in a fight. Joe: Okay... as long as we don’t have to resort to fighting. Matt: (sticking his arm in between the four of them) Let’s make a pact that will be in affect from here on out, until the end of our stay here. Agreed? Tai, Izzy, and Joe quickly agree, stacking their hands on top of Matt’s, one by one. Matt: Anyone who associates with Season 2 will be considered traitors on the spot! Izzy: But what about in challenges? Tai: Only as much as needed to complete the challenge. Nothing beyond that. Joe: I’m not sure if I understand everything, but I’m in. Tai: Okay... the pact begins now. The four separate and head back into the kitchen. Izzy goes to the kitchen and retrieves the last batch of French toast sticks and puts them in a plate. He then joins Tai, Matt, Joe, and the others at the table. As soon as Izzy puts the plate down, the seven boys at the table swarm in and take all of the sticks. When all is said and done, Izzy is left staring at an empty plate. Izzy: Hey! Tai: Sorry Izzy, but when it comes to food, there are no alliances! Ash: Look who’s talking... how did you manage to get three and a half sticks? Joe: (scratching his head) No wonder this single stick I got looks so small. As the group finishes up breakfast, Davis, TK, Cody, and Ken make their way into the room. As they do, Li gets up and quickly exits the room, dumping his empty plate and dirty silverware in the sink. Everyone gives him an odd look as he leaves. The four Season 2 Digidestined then look at the table and see that almost all of the food is gone. All that’s left are a four partially eaten bagels and four sausage links. Davis: (eyes wide open in surprise) What happened to all the food? Matt: You guys should gotten down here earlier. Tai: Yep. Everyone’s already eaten all the food. (points to the food on the table) That’s all that’s left. TK: Come on! Who was on breakfast duty this morning? Ken: I believe Izzy was. Izzy: Yes, I was, but it’s ten thirty already. I’ve been up since six thirty and I’m not willing to get up and fix anything else. (glares at the others at the table) I’m barely getting enough to eat myself. Joe: Besides, Tenchi will start cooking lunch once he gets back from the grocery store. Davis: (whines) But we want to eat! Izzy: If you guys want to eat, then you’ll have to fix it yourselves. Cody: (as his stomach grumbles) That’s not fair! Tai, Matt, and Izzy all get out of their seats, empty what’s left of their food into the trash, put their dirty plates and silverware in the sink, and then walk out. The Season 2 Digidestined glare at them as they leave. They then turn their attention towards Joe, who is still sitting at the table, eating his breakfast. TK: Aren’t you going to go with them, Joe? Joe: Yeah, but unlike them, I don’t waste food. Cody: Save the flattery for someone who needs it! Davis: (beginning to cry) No breakfast? Tracey: Oh, come on! There is still some stuff. Davis looks at the table and sees that the plates on the table are now completely empty. He looks around and sees that TK, Cody, and Ken have each grabbed one of the partially eaten bagels and a sausage link to stick between the two halves... or what’s left of them. Davis: Wait... weren’t there four bagels and four sausage links? Ash: (munching on the fourth bagel) Nope. Davis: (growls) Ash! Ash: Hey! Tracey took the sausage link. I got stuck with the stinkin’ bagel! Davis: (looking at Tracey) Ahem... Tracey: (opens his mouth) Sorry. Already down the hatch. Davis’s stomach growls as he heads over to the cabinets and attempts to find something to eat. * * * * * * * * * * The Season 2 Digidestined are gathered outside, in the front yard. They are busy discussing the events of the day. Davis: They robbed us of breakfast! Cody: They made us do all the chores! Ken: They made us fold their underwear! (shudders) Uuuuuhhhh... TK: That’s it! This has got to stop! They’re making fools out of us! Ken: I think it’s time we put our plan into action! Cody: Why should we? They practically are doing everything to us that we wanted to do to them. TK: Except for one thing... Davis: Revealing their secret crushes! The four look at each other before growling and turning away. TK: That’s not going to work. Davis: Everyone knows Tai is in love with Sora... Ken: And Izzy is in love with Yolei... Cody: And Joe is in love with Mimi... TK: And my brother Matt is in love with Kari... Davis: (jumping up) What? Since when? How dare he! Kari’s my girl! TK: (calming Davis down) I’m kidding, Davis! I think Matt’s in love with Sora too. Ken: I think we’d better rethink our strategy. And I have just the suggestion... Ken whispers his idea to the others. They cheer in agreement. Davis: Yeah! We’ll challenge them to a s... Ken: (putting his hand over Davis’s mouth) Davis! Don’t let the cat out yet! Cody: How are we going to beat them? They’re older than we are! TK: Maybe, but we’ve got two good players on our team, compared to their one. Davis: That’s right! This’ll be no problem at all! Ken: It’s agreed, then? We’ll present the challenge to them, and if they accept, we’ll have the match tomorrow afternoon? Deal? Davis: Um... tomorrow afternoon’s a bad time for me. How about... TK, Cody, and Ken: (simultaneously) Davis! Davis: I’m kidding! Can’t you guys take a joke? A little bit later, the foursome confronts their elder Digidestined counterparts. The eight are gathered in the first floor recreation room. Matt: Okay, what are you guys up to? Ken: I say we have a competition of our own. TK: We challenge you to a soccer match! Tai: A soccer match? You have got to be kidding me... Ken: Four on four. Season 1 against Season 2. First team to score wins. Joe: Can we think of some other game? Cody: What’s the matter, Joe? Chicken? Tai: We’re not chicken! We accept your challenge! Davis: Good! Front yard at high noon, tomorrow! Be there or... well, just be there! Tai: I’m with you! We’ll see you there! The two groups go off their separate ways, as they think about how they’ll handle the challenge tomorrow. Night Thirty Four Tai is slowly sneaking over to the videophone. Everyone, with the exception of Li and Brock, are upstairs, either sleeping or relaxing in their rooms. That gave Tai a chance to make his call without anyone knowing. Tai: (CC) There’s so much on my mind right now. I have so much I have to do. But now, TK and the others want to challenge us to a soccer match! Not that I’m afraid, but I’ve got more to worry about than that. I also have to make sure Izzy’s not spying on me again. What’s up with him, anyway? Tai dials the number ‘222.’ After a few seconds, the sound of a phone ringing can be heard, followed by the voice of an operator. Operator: Welcome to the Kanto Region Pokémon Trainers’ Directory. If you need to contact a Nurse Joy or an Officer Jenny, please press ‘1’ now. If you need to contact a Pokémon Gym Leader or any of the gym’s staff, please press ‘2’ now. If you need to contact a trainer, please press ‘3’ now. Tai presses 2. The operator’s voice rings out again. Operator: Press the number of the gym you wish to reach. For Pewter City, please press ‘1.’ For Cerulean City, please press ‘2.’ For Vermillion City, please press ‘3.’ For Celadon City, please press ‘4.’ For Fuschia... Tai presses 4. The operator speaks up once again. Operator: If you wish to be connected to the front desk of the Celadon gym, please press ‘1’ now. If you wish to be connected directly to Erika herself, press ‘2.’ If you would like the phone number to the gym but would not like to be connected... Tai presses ‘2.’ The operator then tells him to hold on the line while the call goes through. The phone begins to ring. After two rings, someone picks up on the other end. The sign ‘Voice Only’ appears on the screen. Voice: Hello? Tai: Hi. Am I speaking to Erika, the gym leader of Celadon City? Erika: Um... yes, you are. May I ask who is calling and why at this late hour? Tai: I’d like to make a proposition. Erika: What type of proposition? Tai: If you’ve got a few minutes, I’ll explain... Day Thirty Five Just before noon the next day, all of the Digidestined are outside, preparing for their soccer match. Ash, Gary, Li, Tori, and Tenchi are there as well, to watch them. Two makeshift goals had been made out of cones on opposite sides of the field. Cones were also up to denote the out of bounds lines. Tori: All this is doing is making them all look more conniving and undeserving of the top prize. Ash: Why can’t they just work together? Gary: We can use this to our advantage! With the Digimon faction split in half, Pokémon will rise to the top and I will become champion! Tenchi: Don’t count your eggs before they hatch. Li: At least they’re all man enough to settle their differences. Though I could probably beat them all hands down in soccer. TK, Davis, Cody, and Ken are huddling up on one side of the field, getting ready for the match. Davis: Let’s show Season 1 who’s the best! TK: Yeah! Ready Ken? Ken: I think so. I hope I still got it. Cody: It’s in the bag. Stop worrying! On the other sideline... Tai: Let’s just score and get this over with. Matt: I agree. I’m not much in the playing mood today. Joe: The sooner we get this done, the less chance I have of injuring myself. Izzy: Season 2’s going down! The two teams then go to the center of the field. But then, they remember something. Davis: How do we decide who gets to kickoff? Tai: Hmmm... good question. Tenchi sighs as he walks up between the two teams and produces a quarter. Tenchi: First one to call it in the air gets it... Tenchi flips the coin. Tai calls heads before Davis can call tails. The coin lands on the ground with the heads side up. Tenchi: I guess Tai’s team gets the ball first. The Season 1 Digidestined huddle up for one last time, discussing last minute strategy. After a minute or so, they break the huddle and line up. Joe lines up right by the ball, with Matt to his left and Tai to the right. Izzy goes to defend the goal. On the other side, Davis is at center, with Ken to his left and Cody to his right. TK’s defending the goal. Tai: Ready to get burned? Davis: We’ll see about that! Joe: (putting his foot next to the ball) Here we go! Joe passes the ball to Tai. Tai drills right past Davis. Ken matches him almost stride for stride, but he is slightly behind. Meanwhile, Cody cannot keep up with Matt on the other side. Tai taps it over to Matt, giving Tai a chance to break away and get open. Eventually, the duo breaks away, leaving only TK to keep them from scoring. Matt then thinks of a sneaky way to catch his younger brother off course. Matt: (still dribbling the ball) TK! Kari’s calling you! TK: (raising his head) Kari? But she’s back in Tokyo... This distracts TK long enough for Matt to pass the ball to Tai, who shoots a one-timer right to the opposite side of the goal. TK sees it and dives to stop it, but he jumps way too late. The ball flies past the two cones denoting the goal. Tai and Matt stop dead in their tracks and high five each other. Matt: Yeah! Good shot, Tai! Tai: Thanks! But did you have to play TK using my sister? Matt: Hey... they’re in love. What better way to distract someone? Davis: Hey! Kari loves me, not TY! Tai: I don’t love Kari! Joe: You mean you don’t love your own sister? Tai: Huh? Of course I love my sister. Just not the way that TK or Davis love my sister. I only love my sister ‘cause she’s family. I don’t want to date her. That would be insent or something like that. Izzy: Ahem... that’s incest, Tai. Tenchi: (coughs) Okay, game over, the older guys have prevailed. Let’s just call this rivalry settled and go inside and relax? TK: Best two out of three? Matt: You’re on, bro! (to Tai, Izzy, and Joe) Let’s go guys! Tenchi and the others sigh as the Digidestined go at it again... Night Thirty Five Tai is sitting in the dining room alone. He is looking over a small list that he had compiled over the past week. He sighed, realizing that his hard work was going to pay off more than he would have originally expected. Tai: Only one more to go... and then everything’ll be in place. After a long day, Tai was tired from all of the running around he did outside. He stretched his arms out as he rested them on the table, and then his head on top of those. The camera moves over to get a better look at the list that was in Tai’s hands. There were four names on the list. Three were crossed out: Viridian City Nurse Joy, Whitney, and Erika. Only one name remained on the list... Delia Ketchum, Ash’s own mother... End Episode Sixteen Oak: (VO) Next week, we enter the final week of competition... Tenchi: Pack your bags... you must report to the lab at 8 a.m. sharp. Oak: (VO) Thus far, Roomies has been a blend of Road Rules and Real World... Li: It’s nice to get a decent challenge for once. Cody: I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Oak: (VO) But to start the week off, we’re going to have to add an Amazing Race... Tai: (CC) We don’t know where we’re going, but the last team to get there is eliminated. Oak: Let the race begin! Gary: Our best shot lies in our ability to tame a Pidgeot to fly us to Cerulean! Li: Tracey, you’re holding the map upside down! Tracey: No, you’re the one holding the map upside down! Oak: (VO) While the race serves as a prize challenge... Izzy: That computer system will be mine! Oak: (VO) The boys will have to do a physical challenge as well... Ken: Somewhere in Saffron City, we have to locate this Clefairy doll. The only way to find it is to figure out the clues that we were given. Ash: That’s not a Clefairy doll! That’s a Charmander doll! Oak: (VO) Where in the Kanto region is that Clefairy doll? Davis: It’s gotta be here! It’s just gotta! Oak: (VO) The Amazing Race begins on Roomies, next time... Copyright Date: 9/28/01
